No, that's just how the current initiative formula works.
You/The Monster always have a chance to win initiative if you are within 100 init.
Initiative formula hasn't been changed yet.

Question for staff:


Many skills take on 3 stats for BTH. You'll typically have a Mainstat, Dex, and Luck. This decoupling of BTH from DEX and pushed towards Mainstat and luck users means max BTH, but doesn't the Dex part remain? This isn't an issue for those who didn't grain DEx, but for those who continue to train DEX, BTH for skills has been pushed to never miss most monsters, does it not?

And if so, would every single skill need to be visited to remove Dex from Non-Ranged skills?

I've seen a lot of confusion about what has changed. This is what Cray has stated.
Str/Dex/Int now give the full BtH and damage to their respective damage types.
Str and End have gotten slightly buffed with the minor damage boost for the former and the status resistance and healing buff for the latter.
Training has been overhauled, and we no longer have to fight the stat trainer/untrainer.

Right now:


Strength: consistent damage
Dexterity: consistent damage + dodge + btH
Intellect: low damage + MP/burst bar


To remove Dex from being required from every build, the previously proposed idea of decoupling Dexterity from BtH is good.
Thematically, it makes sense for Dex to keep dodge, with some of Dodge being due to Luck.

Proposed possible changes
Give Str improved SP regeneration
Give Int low amount of MP regen each turn (rather than the additional MP potion Cray mentioned could be a perk)

I didn't have any expectations for the stat changes, but I like them so far at the very least especially with the DEX change, I can finally untrain it and put the points elsewhere. Overall I'm interested to see what else happens with these stats, whether they get buffed, nerfed or stay the same in their current state.

seem like end is OP, while int/cha/luck are underpowered.

^ Just do Dex/End/Luk. Blocking and HP's and BTH.... Name 1 downside. 25 Blocking > 2.5% Damage

I love the new battle log and contrary to others I love the new pop up. And the stat revamp finally coming into fruition! Yes, I know there is still more to come but finally it is happening all these years!!
This game is improving all the time making it more enjoyable to play!!!

Still prefer the old text bubbles but will fade over time and think should remove start trainers from housing estates as pointless now even if removed gold charge pointless for high level trainers

Pretty happy so far. testing out DEX gone and into LUK and yay lucky strikes again!

I am unsure I'll keep it that way since I tend to like ranged weaponry, but we will see.
So far most defeintly a huge improvement.

This has been a long time coming, the stat cap increase and following rebalance really killed a lot of playstyles. Now that DEX isn't a required stat for almost every build I can use pets as a FO mage again! Being able to go back to my previous preferred playstyle is definitely going to make playing the game a lot more fun again. Thanks to the staff for doing this at long last!

On the offhand chance that one day you decided to care, decided to ask, AND didn't feel like having the Snarky Bug tickling you, this could maybe be banked back in that memory bank there.

Or others could read and think, oh well that's true! RANGED IT IS!!

The main problem is that they can not be resized like the battle log. Is a Key-resize for the pup-up messages possible as well? That would help immense.
Because right now even if you just wipe the mouse over the screen a tiny bit 4 messages all gigantic pop up. They do vanish quickly yes but they do take you a bit out of combat.

With the new battle log system in place, which is fantastic - could they pop up there instead if the battle log is active? The log and the pop ups include the same messages when they pop up.

I like the idea behind the text scrolling. It's just a little too large and obtrusive. Just adjust it and all will be well.

Thanks for implementing these changes. the former interface was very inconvenient to play with.

It would be nice to require one battle from sir Lanceler and beating him will automatically give you the stats in the way you wanted. And maybe revive sir pownsalot and have him do the same with untraining. The changes make the stat changing too easy.(Same could be done with the house trainers) I'll miss sir Lanceler.
