^^ Also still awaiting answers as to weather the Emerald Items are going to be permanent items going forward like their Ruby counterparts. Though I suppose if the Porcelain items are going to be in the same shop people will get the paintings anyways.

As for this weeks release, is that a cupcake I spot? Guess we'll find out if there's also going to be a 20th Cupcake as well.

So I guess it was a lie when the staff said that the Golden Set would be this year's MC set (jokes). Hoping that Eternal Champion will be the "real" MC set. Let's hope it's worth the 10-year wait.

PS: I'm totally not also waiting for this set to use as a gold store for that. Absolutely not. Nuh-uh. But seriously that can't come soon enough.

Alright so I just finished playing through everything.

Story
Honestly very meh, it's nowhere near as exciting as the 10th Anniversary storyline. A little disappointing tbh. I do like the thank you note at the end as well as the look-back from Robina (but I wished there were some graphics to portray the bosses mentioned by her to invoke more nostalgia rather than just text). Also, having Beleen pop up is just...weird, I'm not sure if she had a hand in writing this release but from what I remember, she doesn't even exist in AQ? Have we ever seen her in AQ before?

Regular Mobs
Generally quite fun to fight. Medium-sized HP but decently high resistances. My gripe here is the lack of variety and the sheer quantity. Consider cutting back how many mobs we need to get through to reach the end, especially since most of them are repeated, it can get stale quite fast

Bosses
Interesting mechanics and not too tough. Very good balance between slightly challenging and fun. My favorite part was the more generous damage cap. Players like seeing big numbers. The bosses have more HP to compensate which I am 100% ok with. I hope future bosses will be like this

Quest Items
1. Shield - Very good for both art and effect, no complaints

2. Weapon - Where do I even start...The effect just seems so good on paper, a Void burn? Sign me up! Unfortunately, that's far from reality. The weapon is probably bugged currently to not be able to switch between all damage types (despite what the description says). The chance of proccing the burn is also what? 5%? That is hilariously low, I would honestly just use PWD on BoA if I wanted to gamble for a good special. Even if you get the burn, it lasts 1 turn and only does 100+ damage? That is so weak for an effect that is so rare. Also worth noting that I think it's bugged to keep proccing after the first proc. Despite this bug, it's still pretty bad lol. Either the burn damage/power/duration has to be greatly increased or the proc rate has to be increased. The art however is very nice, I just wished the blade was a little longer. It's a very odd size, not short enough to be a dagger but looks too short to be an actual sword

3. Armor - The art is just wow...easy 11/10. I know quite a few people aren't a fan of the armor in its current form but personally I like it very much. The 1st skill is great for warriors, it's spammable and does good damage. I view the Choke as the cherry on top, a bonus if you will, rather than being the main point of the skill. It lasts 3 turns but it's not a particularly strong Choke. Maybe cut it to 2 turns and increase the power of the Choke? I know there's supposed to be a MP variant of the second skill (a spell basically) and I hope that gets fixed soon. I like that it's a overcharged skill since it fits the Mage playstyle of bursting. I think once the MP version gets added it should no longer matter that much even if the skills/spells dont follow weapon type (I've seen some asking for this, I'm supportive of the idea too as long as some penalty doesn't get added elsewhere). It's meant to be a jack-of-all-trades armor that can be used by every build. Of course, the downside here would be that it wouldn't be the best for any build because of how versatile it is and I think it's fine. Overall, I'm quite pleased with how the armor turned out

LTS Items
Oh boy, a bunch of cloned items, not very exciting if I'm being honest. May I also add that these items are mediocre at best (I don't play Bleed, maybe that's bias idk)

Why does the Shield cost tokens? END drive isn't even that great. The amount of useful items that uses END for rolls are so little. I only see the Shield being useful if you need that slight burst of HP if you think your healing spell or potion won't be enough to tank the next nuke. I would pick it up if it were Gold but tokens, I don't think it's worth

The Emerald Golem had such good potential. A permanent increase in Wind resist? That's great! But why is it limited by the monster's Earth resist? Another case of good idea but poor execution. I rather it have a standard cap like 150%

The Rhino Pet and other Miscs feels very meh to me, not a fan

Somehow, we're meeting a lot of great dragons these days...

So, no answers on what caused the surge of wild magic? Or any long-term consequences? Well, I guess we do need something for the third week, considering the set is already out and the questline ended.

Edit: also, I may have missed something, but who's Beleen? Is she from some quest I'd missed?

Is there a trigger needed for the void burn? I have done hundreds of attacks and nothing.

Beleen is an old AE character, like a lot of the old NPCs she is based on a real life person. That real life person left the company for a while but is back now so she is appearing again. I don't think she has appeared in AQ before. Her thing is pink

The Akriloth boss is borderline Unbeatable with regular tactics. Do try this:

Samurai armor (the one with 6-hit skill) + any fire shield + Amulet of Drakonnan + Infinita scythe + Olympic medal with Ice align + Riftwalker pet.

You have to land as many hits as possible to reduce his overwhelmingly strong Regeneration, whilst simultaneously tanking some of the strongest fire hits in the game.

The boss was tested using regular tactics. It uses a fire parallel to the ShadowScythe Virophage v2 mechanics: It has regeneration, and a charge-up turn before unleashing its special attack. Dealing six hits or applying a status effect that can stun the boss (For instance, Daze will work even if it's below 100%) will prevent the boss's attack and reduce his healing for the rest of the fight.

In terms of the event story: Storm of the Century canonically happens after Season of Consequences (Chronologically, the Entropy finale is set to release after this event due to extenuating circumstances), but is written in such a way as to not spoil the exact details of the Entropy finale. Thus the only detail left out is what exactly caused the storms of wild magic, and we begin with an emergency catching the hero off guard just as they'd wrapped up an adventure.

The epilogue, following the return of the son of Akriloth from the original rider armor, takes us to the town cast getting together to have fun with the Chosen by getting together to watch spooky shows per the overarching theme of the event. Beleen makes her first appearance in AQ as an homage to her joining the AE team in creating the overall event, as well as because no scary movie night would be complete without the only thing that can scare Artix silly: Pink.


The weapon was indeed bugged on release, having a much lower burn power than it should have, although it should be fixed now. As of the armor: There are a few bugs and issues/missing features with the armor. The former are in the process of being fixed, and the latter largely due to a key design error on my part that I've now brought up with Kam. My apologies for the inconvenience and any resulting wait.

I hope the overall event is to your liking! I've been rattling in place waiting to bring that last plot thread in it full circle for quite a while!

Still playing through the story and liking it so far! I really enjoy the continuity of all the storylines in these recent quests. Sadly, I have not paid enough attention to them to make sense of the chronology so I do feel like I'm missing out on a lot.

As for the first boss:

Does it get stronger throughout the battle? Because it kept hitting harder and harder... Even got a 2,300 lucky strike hit on 14% FO Darkness armor without any damage-modifying shenanigans on my part. Had to use a few HP potions. Also, that boss gets a 12/10 on the creepy factor. Well done lol

On an unrelated note, any chance that the wings on the Drakath Fiend armor can be made to toggle? I always forget to unequip the armor so the speech bubbles are blocked. Ignore that. I just remembered the "Adjust equipment between battles." ._.

The first and third bosses are straightforward bruisers, with the third one deliberately lacking a cap to accommodate the natural reaction of going NOPE and wanting to kill it with physics-defying intensities of righteous fire. The second boss is a Zorbak refresh, and the fourth has the above mentioned mechanics to force it to ramp down its healing.

Hmm, so, Lorekeeper was as Cray from the past?!

Would it be possible to make a short story about Lorekeeper ( Cray ),
if he was/is the succesor of Falerin or just as a ( new ) NPC ( AQ Lead Writer )
as one of the AQ Game/Forum Staff Members?
This is important to know especially for the ( new ) future game/forum players/members.

Yar, that used to be my nickname. I changed it as part of a policy of further separating staff and personal identities. I've been giving the idea of an NPC some thought due to how often it's been requested, but for now I'd prefer to abstain from doing so. There are so many unfinished stories and bits of lore that I'd prefer to focus on tying them together and exploring cool things about the world without making anything centered around myself, but I might come back to this after I learn some new tricks.

Just want to say thanks to the AQ team for pulling off a great 20th anniversary quest. This set should also prove to be a good backstop for an Earth MC set if players want alternatives to Werewolf Subrace or Morningstar.

One tiny complaint thought - The Boss flickers a lot when you hit it. It can be mildly epileptic if you use a skill that utilizes many hits. I even observed that my framerate seemed to slow down just a tick? I'm hoping that monster and armor designs going forward uses less of the White Flash effect for getting hit on.

Hi bro, just a few things:

* The weapon's Void burn doesn't proc at all. Against Combat Practice Trainer, after about 300 normal hits, the burn hasn't been attempted even once.

* The armor's first skill (the one that inflicts Choked) doesn't seem to apply weapon effects after the 1st hit. The skill involves 4 swords doing 4 hits of damage, but only the very 1st hit applies on-hit effects.

* The 2nd skill doesn't show the correct SP cost at times. If you're holding a Ranged weapon, it still displays the Magic SP cost.

And lastly, this is more of a request kind of thing: Since you mentioned that the staff will be fixing/altering the issues with the armor over the course of next week, is there any chance of them putting in a bit more of the Void element? I mean, the Eternal Champion Set after 20 years...would be appropriate and impressive to have, perhaps, a Void SP skill in-built into the armor or something. It would also synchronize very nicely with the weapon's Void burn. Please try to put this suggestion on the table, if possible.

Another thing about the Armor's Skill is that the first is melee locked and the second is magic/ranged lock for a lot more SP in cost. It also means if you're using any ranged you have to use the more expensive skill that as far as I've used it doesn't choke or panic the enemy unlike the first which can choke.
