Yeah... this boss is an unusual one, not going to lie. 10 hits until it starts hitting pretty hard while having 212 bonus and constantly applying a hefty debuff, while also being rather tanky makes this pretty crazy for a Thankstaking quest boss. The mechanics can stay, but I think changing the numbers attached to them would be ideal. As of now, I'd say it's nigh impossible to beat for most classes. And I do realise there's a skip button, but I was rather surprised to have it bring me to the "complete quest" screen rather than just skipping the boss so I could still see the ending cutscene. Edit:So I just played through 'The Beast' again. spoiler:
I do prefer the explanation that the Beastmaster was lied to rather than complicit in the enslavement of magical creatures. Pre-rewrite, the only way I can imagine that he thought he was helping them by shackling them is if his perspective was warped by his severe trauma, so I think this version makes more sense. While I do miss the Beastmaster's connection to Grams, I do like that his backstory involves Yalla and her campaign. It reveals chilling insight as to what she and the Wind Elves that fought with her were willing to do to reclaim Greenguard and further paints a picture of the Rose actually being the good guys at first, only for them to devolve into an entity that echoes the oppressive practices of the very threat it originally fought against. And it also explains his scars rather well too. I suppose he may be the last of his kind. I was unsure what to think at first, as I quite liked the original quest and thought the Beastmaster was an interesting albeit underdeveloped character, but I think the changes work pretty well.
