Ah once more into the Fearscape I have to concur with Primate Murder, it is nice when we hold, or at least try to hold, antagonists accountable for their actions within the setting even if those actions didn't result in the deaths of innocents. Now if we could just give Seppy and Xan a proper scolding... quote:
There seems to be just one hole in her story though... Sirius told us that Kassandra's parents had died. Did he make that up as well? She didn't bring it up at all. Then again, since the Arcana would be hunting her if not for Sirius, I assume that the Imperial Family found out about Kassandra's parents' research into the artifact and put a hit on them. And I guess she somehow escaped and ran away? I'm a little fuzzy on what exactly happened there. Maybe it will get cleared up in the future. Yeah, after what we saw when we were intially thrown into the Fearscape and coupled with the fact that Kassandra did say the Imperial Family seemingly wanted to force Sirius to keep using the Sword of Inanitas in spite of the fact it stopped from using other magic, and the added fact that Kassandra specifically called the Imperial Family liars, it seems they likely did have a hand in the deaths of Kassandra's parents. The question here of course being why? Prestige of one of their own blood can use what appears to be a sacred artifact in their homeland? Or was it just the potential power of having access to the SoI's magic they didn't want to lose? I suppose we'll find out either way since Sirius is supposed to bring Kassandra back and she has made it clear she has no intention upon returning at the moment. quote:
That aside though, I'm intrigued to see how Fear magic, the Exalted and the entity known as "Inanitas" may all be connected in some way Ya know I have slight suspicion that Inanitas might have been a Celestial or at least related to them. While I don't think its particularly strong evidence I did find it noteworthy that Sirius does good damage of all things in gameplay. While it might seem like an odd detail to focus on we have seen before how the devs have used attack damage to properly represent the source of the powers used by our allies and enemies alike. Tomix used Evil or Good depending on which elemental spirits he was synchronized with during his saga. Belle used Fear, instead of light, due to having no mana filter. Uaanta uses wind and Myalos uses metal, and so on so forth. What really makes me suspect the Celestial ties though is Inanitas' artifact having originited around the same time as the Bounded Warden Head artifact. Clearly, such a timeline would imply a connection between the Exalted and both of these items but what I believe could further skew both these items having Celestial origins is the coloration of the BWH artifact. There are only three sources I can recall rocking that black and blue color scheme in the game at the moment. Anything that remotely references Dage the Evil, True Mortal and the bounded ice spirits in his saga, and lastly the Exalted/Elemental iconography, specfically the side depicting the heads with blue glowing eyes, in the Monastery quest (it does appear of course in quests with Notha but there both heads depicting Celestials and Infernals appear more of a porcelain color, but I'd still say bright blue glowing eyes are still a pretty good indicator that the two are connected). I also somewhat suspect that the Celestial were responsible in creating the Warden itself that whole overgrowth of life seems to fit what they were made and known for. Either way I suppose we'll see one way or another what connects these artifacts and the Exalted as this questline progresses.
