Arena at the Edge of Time: Beyond the Stars!
Hey there, heroes!

This week, a new board has appeared at the Arena at the Edge of Time! Get ready to take on foes from Beyond the Stars!

The first challenge is a multi-layered random dungeon, The Lost Constellation! Gather stardust, defeat foes, and avoid traps as you travel deeper into this mysterious nebula of Ateala legend!

If you can find your way through and find what awaits, collecting all the weapon shards along the way, you can reforge your very own Blinding Starlight of Destiny! (Speical to be added later!)

Also this week, Surf's Up! July Summer Seasonal Dragon Coin specials are here!

The new Summer's Wave cosmetic gear has arrived, along with previous years' specials

Check them out in the book of Lore before they leave!

Got to the bosses. Couldn't beat them. Oh well, returned with items at least. Not 10 but still enough that a next trip should be 10.

Got 10 Shards so just need to rerun to boss some other time. And unlike Zeclem's and Timetorn, @above, you might wanna reinforce your gear considering how hard both bosses hit. For those who don't know:

spoiler:

The duo boss is Sandworn Paladin meets Dance of the Stars (Unlike SW Pally, the RW+Ascendant duo feels like a "reimagined" variant of the classes they represent), at least this time the pair does not have background supporters. Instead, they are armed with an aura that spreads out the damage on their side and can be inhibited if you pay attention to the big picture of the labyrinth's mechanics. Bad idea it seems, though, to gun down the RW first as the Ascendant unloads greater pain.

The labyrinth, except the starting room, will only provide you with spare pots as healing sources. Mobs can occasionally be imbued with certain auras to make them slightly more powerful offensively or defensively (hate the Thorn aura). If a dead end does not contain the gateway to the next dungeon level, pots, or boss duo, it'll be either the Shard (if you deep explore like I did, you can get 10 in one sitting) or Stardusts (a funky throwback to Exaltia that will either reinforce the player or weaken the enemy of the current battle, not the entire quest instance). Stardust auras and effects are (can be applied/inflicted up to 10 times for maximum effect, except for one):
Yellow-debuff, 1-turn boss Bond inhibitor. The only non-permanent aura.
    Green-buff, damage reduction
    White-debuff, All resist
    Red-buff, Boost
    Black-debuff, Boost
    Blue-buff, Bonus
Not sure if it is intended, but unlike Schism Runes, these items are retained outside the quest from which they originate.

Considering my experience so far, while the length of the dungeon crawl and the possibility of getting a full set of shards in one go being significant are relatively decent, the map size relative to boss potency might be an issue.

EDIT: All it just took was a take two. Took the slow and steady route with Paladin and two specific Stardust auras to accentuate its defensive prowess and give it a bit of speed. Thought the teachings of Ryuuguin Sieya were necessary, but I overprepared when all I needed was T1 Chimera and stay on a turtling build for the rest of the fight.

I think I'll take the long route and save up star dusts just to be on the safe side. BTW I'm absolutely green with envy at Dardarayu's version of Ascendant. I've always wanted to see Ascendant use green instead of orange.
