Nice release! The music choices are really good and I particularly love the Greedling soundtrack used for the Gargoyle boss. While it feels a bit unfitting, I've always loved this track - I think it's one of my favorite ones and I've always wanted for it to be used in an inn fight, even if it's just a solo. I'm glad Sir Ano's quests were updated because they provide incredibly important story context later down the line and familiarize the player with King Alteon, who as we know, eventually becomes a pretty major character. I didn't know about this questline until I asked why he refers to the Hero as an old friend during the Tournament of Champions, which also led me to finding out that they did in fact reveal that Robina was actually a princess of the kingdom. I'm glad that this information is made more accessible now. In a similar vein, despite having played this game for several years, I had no idea that Mary existed at all in Spirits in the Inn. I thought this was a new addition to the game to play into Calamity later on, but it seems that she was just made more prominent. That's actually really cool! Some of the bosses getting new mechanics is really nice - I do like Gorgok's rotation in particular. His asset reuse from the inn fight is really nice as well. Previously, very few monsters had mechanics, most notably the Anubis Knight, which had a small permanent HoT and a shield (albeit only Block). I really hope other prominent bosses get touched up as well as these updates continue; many of them are very underwhelming and forgettable. Okuchi no Okami, Captain Brackenberry, Sek-Duat, Noxus, Aisha, Drakonnan (this is genuinely the most underwhelming fight in the game), Corrupted Captain Davey, and Entropic Earth Boss in particular would be super nice to see updated. Notably, the Energy Orb doesn't have a big bad boss to fight outside of the DA-locked Titan Popsprocket AKA Simas Prime because Balthar ends up not being a bad guy at all, so D-4Q1, the Popsprocket war boss, is technically the final on-foot boss of that saga. It would actually be quite cool to fight Drakath here instead, since the Energy Orb is the saga that has you most involved with Sepulchure, for... some reason? and I've always felt Drakath to be quite underutilized as a rival-like character. Of course, this is all very far and away, and I guess I got carried away in thinking what this series could potentially add to the game since we're finally outside the rough early stages. I'm honestly kind of curious about whether the titan fights will be revised as well tbh, some iconic fights like Kathool would be lovely to replay at a grander mechanical scale, given that his old and kinda bad inn boss doesn't do him justice like with some of the previous candidates. Locking Willowshire behind Slay Gorgok! and Memory-Demons is a good change. I assumed that the Darkness Orb requirement meant that it was locked behind Noxus Fumes, which would be super random, but locking it behind Memory-Demons requires you to complete the Ravenloss Saga first, which requires you to get the Fire Orb, as you rescue Tomix from Drakonnan's Lair - or so I thought, but Tomix's questline isn't actually locked behind the Fire War Epilogue yet. It would probably do to lock Dusk Alley behind Damien's Draft (Highway) as well as the Fire Orb, but I'm sure this will happen eventually. The Fire War should probably be locked behind Ice Queen as well, since it assumes you've already met Galanoth and know about Akriloth's existence. Speaking of locks, I also decided to sift through the Book of Lore's guests section because I hadn't when that was updated, and: - Book 1 Galanoth is unlocked in the Guests tab upon completion of A Cold Reception, but his actual NPC only allows you to invite him after Un-BEAR-able cold. Quite odd. - Book 3 Galanoth is unlocked by Hydra Boss, but he should be unlocked by either Dark Devices, Calamity (One Step Ahead specifically), or Speaker and Slayer, whichever the player does first. Dark Devices is chronologically the player's first meeting with Galanoth after thawing out, but both it and Calamity are optional questlines. - Book 3 Artix should be locked behind A Pala-Day at a Time specifically, as that is the first time the player meets him. I believe other NPCs allude to the fact that none of them have seen him for several years, so he shouldn't be locked behind Hydra Boss like the rest of the OGs, especially since he has a brand new fit now and is also among the strongest guests in the game. On the subject of Artix, his other appearance is in Back to School, which is given to you by Zorbak from the Book 3 Falconreach Guardian Tower; you only discover that he's been living in the attic of the Guardian Tower in Soul Scrying and I feel like it's a rather important and shocking plot point, so the attic itself should only open after you complete this quest. Back to School also features Magus Neron, it might actually have to be locked behind Calamity and Blood and Roses lmfao. The Invitation (BDToG War Intro) should be locked behind Player Hatching. You have to meet your dragon before you can participate in a dragonlord tournament, after all. In fact, I think Player Hatching should play automatically upon arriving at Book 3 falconreach for the first time.
