Not on topic, but mind if I ask when will the 2026 Calendar and Pando Hoodie code items be released? Also why is code items of the TLaPD Davey Jones - Bundle still not yet released?

Congratulations to all of the winners! Looking forward to seeing the Token/Giftmaster rewards tomorrow.

The Silencer Deathcraft weapon is good; I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate an updated autohit weapon (without damage penalty) that they can freely access. The Shield and Misc on the other hand... they're a bit weak. A Power 0.757 PrismBurn would be fine if it were proccing regularly, but it isn't - it's only proccing once every five turns (and even then, only subject to a save). The shield isn't much better; a 17% elevun once every 5 turns is simply not worth the wait. I suggest that both of these items be tweaked to pay an addiitonal penalty (SP/etc.) in order to increase their potency.

In advance - it would be a bad idea if the Last Rose Misc stacked its Fragile status in potency... -200 END could outright kill a significant minority of monsters in the game (basically anything with 0 END). It would be better if it were to stack in duration.

Hi. I am really excited for the release of the Last Rose Misc. Reading the info-subs and seeing this powerful source of fragile is the only reason why I went for Top 50 this year.

I understand that viewed from a certain lens, this item is tremendously strong, and there are well-reasoned arguments for it to be changed.

I too, am an advocate for a reduction in player power. Still, it's an item that costed 150 USD in tokens before discount - so I am hoping that the staff can hold off on any tweaks, for a duration of 6 months to a year?

I mainly just want to play with it as demonstrated in the original info subs before y'all change it. Though I am kinda hoping its not changed at all . . . it's a perma-rare after all . . . but if the staff feel like they must . . . please consider holding off for a tiny bit. (•ᴗ•)

I don't see the issue. It's a limited item that's basically an experiment to test higher limits of fragile. Before concluding it needs adjustments let's give the 50 who earned it time to try the item. And even if it trivializes fights, it's not as if we can't currently stack fragile through other means. This limited misc just adds what should be a welcome convenience. I'll never have it so doesn't matter what I think but I still believe it's better to be cautious over spontaneous updates especially since its info reveal was the reason it was sought.

The gold stuff ain't bad. Not sure I'd use them but weapon could be worth. Shield and misc unlikely as both seem a bit too situational. Definitely decent items.

I'm a big fan of both the token and gold Giftmaster rewards. I love autohit, and staff have been doing a great job with Damage over Time support recently, a direction I wholeheartedly support, especially with the release of Dire Lean last summer. As an aside, I can confirm that the Elani Silencer's weapons auto-hit is currently not working.

I do share @CH4OT1C!'s concern about the Last Rose misc potentially inflicting a -200 END fragile in one turn. The info subs certainly seem to indicate that it will stack by power instead of duration, and I understand Fragile items usually stack by power, not duration. That the misc would stack by power instead of duration was certainly how I read it last night, and how a lot of players read it. Perhaps there is ambiguity in the wording if one stretches, but I think the better reading - and the one most if not all players had last night on the various AQ communities - was that it would stack by power. While mathematically balanced (to my understanding), as a design choice stacking by power may be a tad overtuned. However, I ultimately disagree that staff should change the Last Rose misc to stack in duration (or otherwise) under these specific circumstances. As I previously discussed in my thread on premium item balance, my opinion is that premium items should be subject to balance standards, but special consideration should be given when staff considering changing them to ensure the purchasers' reasonable expectations are maintained. This is to avoid inadvertent misrepresentations and justifiable playerbase anger about detrimentally relying on an item's effects when making decisions about whether and how to spend their money on AQ.

Staff chose to release the Giftmaster reward info subs seven hours before donations closed. This was the period when the players aiming (or considering aiming) for the top 50 token tier are most likely to be active and donating to secure (or choose to give up on) their spot, whether by sniping at the last minute or donating to ensure they won't be sniped. Indeed, the minimum for top 50 increased significantly in the last few hours of the contest (as always happens). Now, I can't say how many players went for top 50 based on the info subs specifically and how many would have donated anyway (I am in the latter camp), but as @ming shuen indicated some did donate, at least in part, based on the info subs. This should be expected - the players willing to spend 77,100 tokens or more (worth approximately $150 USD) on an AQ Giftmaster reward are also the players most likely to be sophisticated enough and connected to the community enough to check the info subs before the contest closes. It seems to me that the only point of posting the Giftmaster reward info subs before the contest ended was to give Giftmasters more information on which to make decisions - a laudable goal. Even if we can't know how many actually donated based on the info subs, we should assume that a significant number did, because that was the point of posting the info subs before the contest's conclusion.

Accordingly, we have a situation where some number of players justifiably relied on the staff's official representations about the effects of the Last Rose set to make last minute decisions about whether to spend significant money (or the token equivalent of money) on AQ. This situation is limited to 50 players for the misc, and since it's a donation contest it cannot be rectified by giving refunds (as with Warcaster, Cataclysm, and Wrath) or by allowing players to chose a different package reward (as with Tribal Shaman). The misc itself is not mathematically unbalanced, it just perhaps has an element that was an unwise design choice. Under these specific circumstances, I think the best thing to do would be to leave the Last Rose misc unaltered, and perhaps clarify that it is an exception and that future Fragile effects won't be designed similarly. This, in my opinion, is the best way to proceed where, as here, players justifiably and detrimentally relied on staff representations during the high pressure closing hours of a donation contest to make monetary choices that cannot now be undone.

What do we do in the future? While not providing info subs pre-release would have prevented this issue, the better course for me is to provide the info subs well in advance, at least by a few weeks (in my experience, nobody who wasn't going to donate anyway makes final donation decisions that far out). That would prevent people from having to make late night last minute decisions without any chance for official confirmation or clarification, and give time for feedback and course correction (such as, say, clarifying how an effect might stack to remove any ambiguity that may exist). I ultimately understand however staff resolves this tricky situation, and hope we can avoid a reoccurrence in the future.

PSA: The Order of the Last Rose misc item will be adjusted on Monday so that it'll apply based on Hits/Attempts rather than "Assume 2 hits, work on up to 4 hits". Further tweaks may be needed since Fragile is by its nature a really wonky status, either it's doing nothing BUT giving you better results when the enemy needs to use END to resist a save, or it's instantly ending the fight for you on turn one. I'll also be poking the Elani shield to see if there's anything it can give up to give its effect some more oomph.

Edit: This item will be adjusted from this initial info sub soon, final details are going to be ironed out once the weekend is over, but this notice is to let people know it'll get tweaked.

Ugh . . . y’all should have said this before the donation contest ended. Saying it after $150 USD worth of tokens have been spent because of the current iteration of the info subs, well, it just hits different.

... Great. The sole reason I bothered donating enough to be in the top 50 is getting reworked and may still be getting nerfed before we even get it. Wonderful.

Wanted to respectfully voice / echo the criticism that while I'm sure it wasn't the intention, notifying players that the token donation misc is extremely cracked via its infosubs right before the contest ends, and then adjusting / nerfing it immediately after, certainly looks like, and may feel a bait and switch or false advertising marketing tactic. I want to emphasize that I'm totally sure that wasn't the intention, however I still wanted to provide this criticism to make it more likely that this type of thing is avoided in the future.

On a positive note, while we've had the art for some time now, I hadn't stopped to appreciate it, and I'm loving the visuals on the water weapons and their skill. Awesome stuff :)

In the future it'd be best to not post info subs until and no sooner than when all adjustments are done on items listed.

This is likely an unpopular opinion, but I'd like to argue for the fragile status to be changed to have a 2-turn duration with half the power (so the same %melee total), alongside the announced change to hit/attempts and with the existing fragile stacking behavior.
It would be significantly easier to sustain it across multiple turns and would help to avoid the problem of the effect not feeling impactful while still maintaining the original intent of what people wanted of building high fragile (or at least, that's what I personally wanted out of it).

Now that you guys changed the donation misc to be hits / attempts, could I ask you do the same with the shield? Relying on monster hits is always bad, since despite them being balanced around having 2 hits, an ungodly amount of monsters only have 1 hit, makes the shield be half value a lot of the times.

I have to say, despite the bad timing I would still love to have you guys release info subs early, maybe within the middle of the contest so that people can make informed decisions on how much they want to spend and also so you guys have time to adjust it. Maybe have two periods of info sub release, one mid contest where you guys can explicitly note the items are subject to change and balance requirements and one at the near end of the contest so you guys have a finalized version that, still, is subject for needed changes for balance requirements.

Releasing the info subs early was a good move and I hope to see more of this for donation contest items in the future. Ideally there would be fewer large changes to item power after players have spent the Z-Tokens but the change is understandable in this case and this is overall a step in the right direction.

Incorrect info should never be posted if that info serves as reason to chase a top reward. Even adding that the described effect could change would be fine. Just something that adds plausible deniability against any upset reactions.
