    UPDATE I:

  • Updated the top 25 Giftmaster info to confirm that the 2nd set will be both color-customizable and an elemental variant of the original set.
  • We heard your feedback regarding the confusion around the Purecast ArcaneFang Armor, so we have released an additional Purecast Galefang Armor! Players who win the ArcaneFang Armor can now freely swap it for the Purecast Galefang version using the Item Upgrader.

With the contest approaching its midpoint, you have already successfully unlocked nearly the entire base Gatta Champion Set! Here’s a look at the concepts we’re developing for the contest sets, plus a quick update on how the Lucky Strike project is coming along.

    Concept:

The Primordial Chorus is meant to present a unique playstyle supported by new ways to use the Prismatic Burn status, and the conditions through which it can gain the ability to deploy the Void element. The Elemental Convergence effect builds power by using different elements, eventually unlocking the ability to transcend them entirely

The armor features the Dire and Fully Offensive leans, with the idea of swapping as needed between raw damage and chaotic status power. Throughout the set, guest sustain and pet/guest buffs are set up to choose between burst or sustained output with your companions. This even applies against enemies that resist your armor's element, as the pet can summon an opposite-element version of the guest. Keep an eye on those wyrmlings when you equip the Primordial Chorus set! When you have the armor equipped, the set's pet and guest will instead manifest as fully grown heads in the ancient primordial's form, showing the full power of these wise and deeply magical beings!

    Weapons:

    Primordial Chorus's Judgement/Will
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Wind
    Type: Melee/Ranged
Mechanics: Toggles between two modes: Raw damage and trading damage for Drain Burn (Damages HP, heals SP). A separate clickable eats PrisBurn to gain a split of EleEmpow and Pet/Guest Celerity. 0-proc bonus is traded for a chance to do Void damage. Ranged version follows the accuracy lean for status effect infliction.
  • In-game description: A gift granted to dispatch the enemies of a Chorus's scion, this wondrous weapon wields magical flames that restore your energy, and can consume prismatic ones for power!

    Primordial Chorus's Inspiration
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Wind
    Type: Magic.
Mechanics: Spellbooster that toggles between paying SP to add either PrisBurn or Drain Burn (Damages HP, heals MP). HP cost pays for a chance to do Void Burn or Void element Drain Burn instead. Shares the PrisBurn eating clickable on the weapon.
  • In-game description: The multifaceted magics of a Primordial Chorus have inspired this staff, which can imbue your spells with either Prismatic flames or ones that fuel your MP as they burn foes!

    Shields:

    Primordial Chorus's Protection
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Wind
Mechanics: Pays MC for guest cost reduction, sacrifices blocking for an effect to inflict the same Drain Burn as the equipped set weapon (Harm, defaults to healing SP if a set weapon is not equipped) when attacked, hit or miss.
  • In-game description: The scales shed by a Primordial Chorus have been fashioned into this shield to protect their disciple by retaliating against attacks with flames that fuel their SP or MP!

    Spells:

    Primordial Chorus's Insight
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Wind
    Type: Call
Mechanics: Guest version of the pet. Instead of compression, it feeds its full power into the status. An alternative, opposite-element version is summoned by the pet.
  • In-game description: Call forth a facet of a Primordial Chorus! This empowered version of the pet will transform into another head when you're astride its matching armor!

    Armor:

    Primordial Chorus's Accord
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Wind
    Lean: FO or Dire
    Mechanics:

The armor keeps track of elements that attacks/spells/pets/guests successfully hit with. This list resets when accumulating any eight elements. We could reference Dragonbone Phylactery for partial code and a status UI element. PrisBurn doesn't instantly fill this out, instead doing one of the hits, but the all-element attack can. Successfully resetting this list gains a stack of an effect that is expended by the second skill. Stack value to be determined by Kamui.

    -MRM for guest cost reduction
    -MRM for bonus Harm damage.
-MRM to gain EleEmpow(All) when hitting with an element that's not yet on the list.
Note: The idea is to provide ramp-up as you use different elements instead of sticking to one or going back and forth between two, rewarding a non-standard way to play, with Prismatic Burn supplementing rather than trivializing this ramp-up.

    FSB: Bonus prismatic burn damage.
    MC for skill compression:

Primordial Dissonance: 8-hit weapon attack that hits once for each standard element and behaves differently based on the other skills. In FO lean, the skill pays SP and HP for bonus raw damage. In Dire Lean, damage and SP are paid to inflict Prismatic Burn with HP drain enabled. If the second skill is enabled, this is shifted to Harm damage/burn according to the lean. If the Void threshold is crossed, the skill splits the status between three Drain Burns, all targeting HP but each healing a different resource.

Description: Unleash the power of all eight elements upon your foe! Your other skills determine the effect that this onslaught of primordial power will have!

    Supplementary Description Boxes:

Standard, FO: Currently hitting once for each element, spending X HP & Y HP for bonus damage!
Standard, Dire: Currently hitting once for each element, spending X% damage & Y SP to inflict a Prismatic Burn that fuels your health!
EC on, FO: Elemental Convergence building! This skill currently does eight hits of Harm, spending X HP & Y HP for bonus damage!
EC on, Dire: Elemental Convergence building! This skill currently does eight hits of Harm, spending X% damage & Y SP to inflict a Harm Burn that fuels your health!
EC at Void Threshold, FO: Elemental Convergence at a critical point! The next use of this skill will deal Void damage, spending X HP & Y HP for a bonus!
EC at Void Threshold, Dire: Elemental Convergence at a critical point! The next use of this skill will inflict three separate Void Burns, each fueling a different resource!

Elemental Convergence: Toggle. Changes attacks, including the first skill, to do Harm damage. Pays SP for the always-useful penalty. Pays accumulated stacks to instead do Void.
Description: The ancient perspective of a Primordial Chorus goes far beyond direct elemental magics. This skill will convert your hits to Harm, including Primordial Dissonance. At full Elemental Convergence, stacks are consumed for a Void effect.

Primordial Harmony: Toggle between FO and Dire Lean. In FO mode, attacks pay damage to heal SP based on hitrate. In Dire Lean, they pay more damage to inflict Harm Drain Burn.
Description: Through the unifying perspective of a chosen Scion, the growing chaos of the Primordial Chorus is harmonized into new perspectives. Choose between a Fully Offensive and a Dire focus.
    Supplementary Description Boxes:
FO: Currently adopting a Fully Offensive Lean and spending X% of attack damage to restore SP based on the rate of successful outgoing hits.
Dire: Currently adopting a Dire Lean, spending X% damage to inflict a Harm Burn that fuels your health.

  • In-game description: The multifarious power of a Primordial Chorus, harmonized into devastating focus by working with their chosen disciple! Wields a variety of elemental and prismatic powers!

    Pets:

    Primordial Chorus's Perspective

  • Suggested function: Inflicts Drain Burn (Damages HP, heals SP). Can randomize its element (With a check to not repeat the same one twice in a row) for an output boost. MC: Compresses the alternative guest call for SP.
  • In-game description: A mysterious youngling that will eventually become a Chorus! It inflicts an SP-fueling burn, can randomize its element for added power, and can summon a guest!

    Items:

    Primordial Chorus's Voice
  • Suggested function: Burn & Prismatic Burn potency, guest cost reduction. Reduces incoming Wind damage. Alternatively, the elemental effect could be adding Burn to pet & guest attacks.
  • In-game description: A crystallized shrine even more ancient than the Chorus, now lost to the ages. Grants potency for all types of Burn, reduces guest upkeep, and increases outgoing Wind damage!

    Faces:

    Primordial Chorus's Scion
  • In-game description: The last mark of the disciple of a primordial Chorus, a long-vanished species whose lost songs and lessons make it hard to believe the brutish hydra descends from them.

    Primordial Chorus's Sage
  • In-game description: The armored hood of a sage who has been chosen as the disciple of a primordial Chorus — Legends claim them to be the extinct link between hydras and dragons.

    Concept:

The Gatta Champion set is meant to be a versatile set focused on creating mutual synergy between offensive and disruptive status effects. It employs Thunderstruck, a version of The Cold, to wear down enemy defenses and accuracy, giving it room to leverage inaccurate leans for power in its main damaging moves. This is meant to be deployable from aggressive or defensive attack styles as well as via spell builds, so the armor can select between Spellcaster, Dire, and Defensive leans.

Note: All mentions of triggers based on Thunderstruck would also detect The Cold and Overwhelming Wrath, save for skills that specifically require the permanent version of Thunderstruck.

This concept uses the Energy element to provide gold-costing coverage for Spellcaster and Dire leans, but if players find this undesirable, it could also suit the Ice element. While Light also needs gold-costing Spellcaster coverage that doesn't come from an armor's secondary resistances, that would result in elemental overlap with the Rubicon Legate set.

    Weapons:

Voice of the Thunder Mother (Glaive)
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Energy
    Type: Ranged, 0/100 Proc toggle
Mechanics: Has two clickables: One swaps between 0 and 100 proc modes, while another toggles between paying damage to inflict Energy Drain Poison or swapping to Harm element while inflicting Harm Drain Poison and Thunderstruck in exchange for paying damage & SP. Infliction is affected by the current accuracy lean.
  • In-game description: The enchanted, strangely advanced steel in this heritage weapon inflicts retribution for the suffering of the Gatta through defense-destroying and health draining effects!

    Thunder Mother's Wrath (Poleaxe)
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Energy
    Type: Inaccurate lean melee weapon.
Mechanics: Can toggle between paying damage to inflict Drain Poison or swapping to Harm mode while spending both damage and SP for Harm Drain Poison. A separate clickable performs an accurate weapon attack that pays SP and damage to inflict Thunderstruck.
  • In-game description: This heritage magical weapon can serve as a spear or bow as it inflicts retribution for the suffering of the Gatta through defense-destroying and health-draining effects!

    Thunder Mother's Protection (Staff)
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Energy
    Type: Staff
Mechanics: Can toggle to boost Energy spells with Drain Poison or Thunderstruck by paying SP, or both by paying a mix of SP, HP, and spell damage. The built-in spell trades its damage for Energy Poison if the weapon is currently toggled to inflict Drain Poison.
  • In-game description: Once placed down to calm down Gatta younglings, Sihan-Asani's staff can empower your Energy spells with defense-destroying or health-draining status effects!

    Shields:

    Thunder Mother's Retort
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Energy
Mechanics: MC pays to compress a skill that toggles between three SP-fueled modes: Inflicting Thunderstruck when attacked, Inflicting Harm Drain Poison when attacked, and spending extra SP to inflict both.
  • In-game description: It's said that the shield of the Thunder Mother absorbed the noxious, armor-shattering powers of its enemies, and now wields that very leeching and defense-ruining force!

    Armors:

    Champion of the Thunder Mother
  • Suggested function:
    Element: Energy
    Lean: Dire
    Mechanics:

    -MRM for status potency
-MRM for a 1/battle death save that activates if Storm Curse and permanent Thunderstruck are maxed, stripping the former and healing HP for its total value.
    MC for skill compression:

Thunder Mother's Reckoning: SP-fueled toggle with 2 modes:
Attacks trade damage to inflict Harm Drain Poison. When casting spells, SP instead goes to adding the status. If enough of the poison is currently inflicted on the enemy, it's replaced with a permanent version called Storm Curse. Storm Curse heals SP, not HP.
Attacks pay SP and accuracy for additional damage. If permanent Thunderstruck is maxed, this gains Void element extra hits.
Description: Embody a legendary protector's vengeful power, applying Harm Drain Poison to build up a permanent Storm Curse... Or focusing on raw power that gains extra Void hits if Thunderstruck is maxed!

Sundering Thunder: SP Toggle. Attacks and spells gain BtH and inflict Thunderstruck, up to a cap. If the cap is reached, eats Thunderstruck to inflict a permanent version, with overflow value doing Harm damage. The permanent Thunderstruck has a cap of its own. If this is reached, the eater instead spends the full value on damage. This damage switches to Void if Storm Curse is maxed.
Description: Destroy enemy' accuracy and defense with the Thunderstruck effect! If Thunderstruck reaches enough power, trade it for a permanent version! This attack deals Void damage at max Storm Curse.

Thunder Mother's Poise: Once per battle skill with four options: Changing the lean to Dire/Spellcaster/FD, or skipping a turn. The turn skip spends the turn value on a split of EleShield(All) and SP+MP recovery.
    Description: Text

  • In-game description: Once per battle, adapt as quickly as the legendary Sihan-Asani did. Change armor leans to Dire, Spellcaster, or Fully Defensive, or else skip a turn to defend and recover!

    Pets:

    Thunder Mother's Lion Spirit
  • Suggested function: Energy pet that pays damage to inflict Thunderstruck, with a toggle to pay SP for a stronger version that has a downtrigger to pay for a bonus if the enemy is currently afflicted by a minimum value of poison.
  • In-game description: Joining in the Thunder Mother's vengeance for nature and her young, these spirits of the land can erode enemy defense and accuracy! Can pay SP for a stronger mode.

    Items:

    Gatta Medicine
  • Suggested function: Reduces incoming energy damage. Increases Poison damage and improves potency for Thunderstruck/other Cold equivalents. Heal when striking enemies afflicted by the latter.
  • In-game description: This bitter medicine protects from Energy. It also increases your Poison and Thunderstruck/Cold-like status potency, as well as healing when you hit foes afflicted with the latter.

    Faces:

    Gatta Champion's Mane
  • In-game description: The face of a human heir to the power of Sihan-Asani, the Thunder Mother. Accepted by the remnant of her legacy, they begin to take on this ancient protector's aspect.

    Gatta Champion Form
  • In-game description: When great foes ripped the Gatta homeland into the sea, a fierce warrior set out to shield the children and the wild, safeguarding the future with her life. You now bear her legacy.

Thank you so much for your patience! We appreciate your understanding while Ironhoof has been in limbo during the completion of this project. This Lucky Strike project evolved into a larger and larger endeavor, but great news - Ianthe has returned and is continuing to make progress. Here is a post from Lorekeeper outlining some of the upcoming changes. Looking ahead, we also plan to introduce a ranged adaptive lean menu. All items that feature a Lucky Strike lean will be able to bring up this menu so that you can check on your total crit stats, and dial them in just the way you want them. Items that feature Lean Control, beginning with the Ironhoof set, will be able to use this menu to switch their focus between chance and damage!
