I have two completely unrelated questions. 1) I noticed that there aren't many tutorials for MS Paint, and I wondered if it would be okay to write one, especially one directed at true beginners, listing the few Paint tuts that there are, and maybe also giving tips on drawing and editing, or if a rather primitive tutorial like that would be not "artistic" enough for the GoCA, next to all the (very specific) signature and Photoshop/Gimp tutorials. - The reason why I ask: Whenever there is a forum contest there usually are a whole bunch of people who do not even know how to find Paint on their computer, yet would like to enter the contest, and I just never know where to point them. Actually, I would like to see more paint tutorials myself. And for the DF contests (having been an AK there for a bit, and seeing how they work) I think they'd be a great help. Just make sure you point them out to a staffer or AK so that they can add it to the contest thread or the discussion thread. 2) Am I right in assuming that the "Black Rose Cafe" is for signature makers only, considering it's in the "Digital Arts" section and I hardly see anybody else in there, and is there a similar place for the rest of the GoCA? (I thought that actually, this thread started by Nickwright would make an interesting point of discussion. As long as people stay civil ^_^ *promises to behave better*.) Actually, it was made to stop spam in the DAaS, which is where a lot of spam happens in this forum all together. But all artists are welcome to speak their piece. I'll talk to Grafh about moving it, though I don't think the DAaSers will leave their home there just to stop spam. They can't even control themselves now. Thank you for the quick answer, iChar! - I'll see what I can do about the Paint tutorial, and I just wanted to say that it was not my intention to drive the sig makers from their home *winces* ^_^. It just seemed to me like we were actually discussing the value and meaning of "art"/"original art" in that thread (or starting to), so I wondered if there was a good place to really have such a conversation.
