This is a massive 8500 pixel long tutorial. It's extremely detailed, and gives away a few of my secrets I use for all of my sigs. I'm sharing this because I want to see the community improve in at least one style, this is the style I chose because it is relatively simple. This MAY work with GIMP if you have some knowledge of the tools/adjustments used. I'd like to see a GIMPer try this and show me the result so we can see if this is close. Here is the stock I used.

Post your questions, comments, and results here :D

Some of the colors are dulled down (Like the red words) because I wanted to keep the tut (it's two images, far to long to upload) visible for people on dial-up. Though it's still probably a 5 minute load.

Paste your picture on the sig, then get out the smudge tool and follow the instructions on how to modify it. Then click and drag around the sig so you get the effect I did.

Well, I did it in GIMP, but I really only followed the first few steps. Since GIMP doesn't have a Gradient Map that I know of, I completely skipped the curves and Hue steps down, exept for the first one. I fooled around a bit of my own, sharpening and the sort, and this is what I came up with:

Any picture. A render, a wallpaper, a photo. Anything that you are using as the "render" in a signature. I provided the stock I used at the top of the page. It's a wallpaper.

Made a typo on the tut, but I'm too lazy to fix it, split it back up, and re-upload. Just ignore any spelling mistakes, I type too fast for my own good.
