An evil countess forged this blade to rip and tear her enemies, causing them to bleed as much as possible.

This is an allusion to diablo 2 expansion. Although the countess in diablo 2 has nothing to do with the weapon bloodletter, which is a short sword and not a dagger.

The countess referred to is likely Bathory, an infamous historical noblewoman who was said bathed in the blood of girls to keep herself young. She pops up in myriad games and books, (sometimes with a name change.) Everquest, Castlevania, and Ragnarok each have such reffrences to her, and there are at least a dozen movies too. Most oft as a vampire or the like. For obvious reasons.
