Omega has no mythology. its a greek letter, however it is the LAST letter in the greek alphabet, hence, it may symbolize an end.

Omega is often used, especially in mathematics, to define the final variable, or final number in a set. Apparently theres some christian lore with this, probably something made up by priests to get more greeks to convert (as they did with greek and roman holidays... look it up if you dont belive me oh ye who take religion way to seriously) Alpha and omega: the beginning and the end. This is actually taken from a philosophical statement written on some wall.

Other uses that may be important are the astronomical ones. it represents the density of the universe, and in lower case, the ranking of a stars brightness.

Here however, it probably symbolizes the ending. Happy hunting! :-P

Oh and for vishnu? Hes part of a trinity. The trimurti.

Brahma:
element:earth (remember truth saying he would return from darkness to earth?)
Associations: Creation, origin of life.

Vishnu
element: water
Associations: eternal, preservation, sustainer of life (Avatar= eternal?)

Shiva
Element: fire
associations: Ending, death, consuming of life, darkness

I think you get the picture.
Also the trinity has to stop being considered as the christian one. There is a much larger trinity, like the trimurty, Life, Death, Rebirth. This is actually in the matrix. The first movie is rebirth, the second movie life, the third death. It loops too, in the final scene of the first movie.

Reading up on the hindu avatars it seems theres the 10th avatar who:

"will come riding upon a white horse, brandishing a flaming comet-like sword, (or wielding a comet like a sword), intent on eradicating the reign of evil on the Earth"

Also "The name Kalki is often a metaphor for "Eternity" or "Time"." Kalki being the 10th avatar.

Dont u hate the feeling that you could be barking up the wrong tree completly.

Yeah. If we aren't allowed to post about Truth, Lies, Kaliope, etc. in a thread we're told should be the place to discuss it by a staff member, then something really strange must be going on...well, stranger than what's happening now at least, if that's even possible.

Unfortunately the ten avatars are the ten avatars of LIFE. Of vishnu, in the hindu religion.

The avatars as described by truth, maxwell, etc., are those who the faceless find good for possession... or something like that.

themailman, nice job ruining the new fourth wall. Now that this is supposedly taking place in real life, by saying it's not, you're ruining the immersion factor. So, in a way, this itself is a game. And if Maxwell tells us to discuss this, even though it's much less game-related than other official threads, I don't see any reason we can't.

Okay, I'm going to quickly bring up a few things that were mentioned in chat, and one of my own:

1) Could Anna be Calliope?
Anna was mentioned to be the only one who could understand Cor-Demi. The Messenger has also stated that the Reticulans (the CorDem) are in control of the computer running Truth's program. So if the messages we are getting are still being sent back from the future (which makes since as there are no computers in the current Adventure Quest time), could they have originated from Anna?

2) Messenger for Lies?
In The_Messenger's second appearance, someone asked if Lies might also be contacting someone in a similar fashion as the relationship between Truth & The Messenger. Almost immediately, he mentioned that Maxwell had been acting funny. The guy that he usually knew to be happy-go-lucky was secluding himself in his home. Can we trust everything that we are hearing? This is almost certainly a "no." However, who are we to trust then?

3) Edward?
Who could this individual be? We know he is the Avatar for Death, but could he also have another name? One idea that comes to my mind is Artix, who spends countless hours slaying undead. To my mind, the undead are those who are trying to cheat death, who are unnatural in their exhistence. Wouldn't Death want them erradicated? Is that why Artix is so committed to their extermination? Could he be the one with the relic? Of course, a poster from DragonCon mentioned something about him being cursed, so there may be another layer here we don't yet know about.

...If he IS involving the real world in some way, he seriously needs to reconsider, because parents hear them going on about this, they'll think this is some sort of cult or some such, and be beating diown the doors of Artix Entertainment demanding Maxwell head for brainwashing their little kiddies.

To my mind, the undead are those who are trying to cheat death, who are unnatural in their exhistence. Wouldn't Death want them erradicated? Is that why Artix is so committed to their extermination? Could he be the one with the relic?

The Undead are effectively an abomination-you're dragging up the remains of somebody, tearing their soul(or someone's soul) from the afterlife, and stuffing them in a decaying shell to serve your will for eternity or until smashed. That's why Priests and Clerics and Paladins are so commited to destroying them, at least in most mythoses. It's as much freeing them as destroying them.
