Galrick's 100% ebil shirt is a reference to the avaliable shirts from Jinx.

The word "Naga" in the Naga Arch Sorceress means a serpent who can take on human form in Hindu Mythology and it means "Snake" in Hindi Language.

Clover-Field War is a spoof off the movie (Cloverfield).

Listen to this guys, the ocular phase overload, seems to me to be very similar to metroid prime 3's: Phazon overload. Bot beams are giant and blue.

the MMO reminds me of the village in the book that i wrote. (yes, i am 13 and i wrote a book) the town is called Cheryyhaven, and i think it is a lot like the town in the MMO.

I don't know if this has been posted already, but Geldar the Dragon could be a spoof of Glaedr(sp?) from the book Eldest. They are both golden dragons with similar names after all.

I dunno if this has been said already, but Ice Nine is probably a spoof of Ice Nine in Vonnegut's CAt's Cradle (Woohoo vonnegut!)

Also, this has probably be mentioned, but the Proteans = that symbiote in SpiderMan.

Sally is a referance to Sally Brown from the Peanuts coartoons. They both have the same outfits and color hair.

Sorry for anything repeating here, but I didn't read all the previous stuff(too long) and I know some of these are very obvious.

Moglins= a cross between moogles (Squeenix games) and the creature tht makes gremlins in the movie "Gremlins" w/ a few even having some of the gremlins themselves mixed in too (Zorbak[sp?]).

The fairies= small winged moglins

Drakovia area = Van Helsing/Underworld.

"The Ring"= Lord of The Rings.
ps it would make a better misc item than a weapon.

Robina hood= Robinhood.

Sepulcher is Nightmare.

The similarities are so much that .

first pics of em

Sepulchure (df encyclopedia): 1 2
Nightmare (google images): 1 2 3

From the encycolpedia entry on the irismancer "Sepulcher?
Character Name: Tell me what you know about Sepulcher. What did you mean about our paths being the same?
The Irismancer: Not long ago he was a hero who accomplished many great deeds. He had made many good friends in his adventuring, like you.
The Irismancer: Then he lost something that was dear to him. He felt that if he had more power, he would have been able to stop this event.
The Irismancer: In his obsessive search to become stronger he withdrew from his life and his friends. They tried to help him but he wouldn't let them.
The Irismancer: Then he discovered his cursed weapon, the Necrotic Blade of Doom.
The Irismancer: His weapons did make him stronger but poisoned his mind further. Then it began to poison his body.
The Irismancer: The armor that he wears, the armor of the Doom Knight...it actually wears him.
The Irismancer: He has become something else, bound to the darkness. "

Nightmares story

Siegfried Schtauffen (not exactly sure about how to spell that last name) 's father was killed, he felt if he had more power hed would have been able to stop that from happening, "My friends, I left them" "Why? because I needed more power." -Siegfried, he went looking for souyl edge to become more powerful, and eventually after getting soul edge it eventually turned him into nightmare.

Now these are quite the similarities (time for the match ups now)

____Nightmare____|____Sepulchure_______________|_relation
Lost his dad | Lost something important to him | Dad = important
Left his friends | Left his friends | Same
Found Soul Edge | Found necrotic blade of doom | cursed weapon
became nightmare | became Sepulchure | Possessed, no longer themselves because of the sword, evil monster now.

Next I must note that I haven't given the whole story of nightmare as his is further progressed.
But you get my point they match up quite well.

Next Irismancer = Vaati

Irismancer
"Who are you?
Characters Name: Who are you?
The Irismancer: I am The Irismancer. I was once a re flying eye, and a pet of a powerful mage.
The Irismancer: Most other flying eyeballs were trapped for centuries until Zarek and Palladia released them, but not me.
The Irismancer: I spent all those years reading over the shoulder of my old master until I learned enough to take this form that you see.
The Irismancer: My powers have grown even more since then. When the other eyes were released a large portion of them were drawn to me.
The Irismancer: With their help... seeing through their eyes.. I can now see nearly everything. " from the encyclopedia

Vaati
He used his masters item to take a humanoid + human size form

also a slight resemblance is that vaati has a form which is quite like a flying eyeball.

Not as similar characters but still some similarities.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but the effects of the Cold seem a bit like the effect a Dementor (from the amazing world of Harry Potter, of course) has on you when you're too close.

The boss creature known as "Mrs. Butterworth" in the martial arts area has a description that refers to: Hall of Famer, Pro Wrestler, Rowdy Roddy Piper (also used in Smackdown VS Raw 2008).

This and my previous post r from AQ.

I don't think this is done on purpose by AE staffs, but I can't help but realize graphical similarities between Blade of Awe and Fuuin no Tsurugi (The Sealed Sword) in the Fire Emblem game of the same name.

If that pic shows the sword, then the similarity is only slight at best.

The am-bushes remind me of the elderberry bushes in quest for glory 4 : shadows of darkness. Also , the pun-driven storyline reminds me of the pun-driven storyline of the whole Quest for Glory saga.

And I'm feeling really old by saying this.

In Dragonfable, much of the character dialogues makes the main character remind me of dread pirate Wesley for some reason.

Also, the rewards of the TA's Challenge in Dragonfable spoof AE's Archknight's Spoof of Evil Dead.
Lol. Dragonfable-Archknight-Evil Dead.

Ruins of Kordana/Jump in are halo/Mechquest.

I just discovered an interesting connection between Final Fantasy VI and Adventure Quest.

The two main worlds beside Lore, as mentioned in game, are called Terra and Caelestia respectively. Note that, however, in Final Fantasy VI, the two main female characters are also named Terra and Celes.

Well, I believe this is just a coincidence, but I am bringing it out just for reference.

The Devourer reminds me of the Premium.

A thing that hides in the shaows, strikes away all freedem then leaves its mark untill all have forgoten then strikes again, Say with with special weapons or new models that you have to pay for. The only thing that can stop it are the FreedomFighters from the forgoten land... (Actualy an MMO that was abandoned when all its new services started to cost real money)

Its really just an idea me and my friends have but its similarity to the Devoure I realised was kinda freeky. Especialy when you know that we thought of the Premium about 2 years before Artix Entertainment existed, Scary.

AQ~Powerword Die (Awe Weapons):

Powerword Kill, a Dungeons and Dragons Spell, School of Enchantment. Wiz/Sor 9, War 9. Instantly kills any monster targeted with less than 100 health.

Am I the only person who noticed this?

The'Galin wasn't forgotten, he doesn't hide in shadows, and he doesn't remove freedom.

@Above: No, there was a locked thread in AQ GD about that yesterday.

You can do even religion parallels, right? I'll just do it to get it off my chest.

In the Worlds in Peril quest, one of the questions was something like "Why does The'Galin keep those who are evil close to him?", and the anwser is "Because he thinks they need him more than the Pure".

In Christianity, Jesus said in after a parable that "Their will be more rejoicing over 1 sinner who repents, than 99 who need not repent." It's something close to being closer to those evil(chaos) and need to be converted back to good(unity).

Sorry, if this wasn't an appropiate thing to parallel.

The look of the Tainted Dragonblade has a resemblance to Soul Edge. The design of it, as well as the one bloodshot eye, rings a Soul Caliber bell.
