While I myself don't have a problem with luck myself there are many of my friends and other players I know who are extemely fed up with luck. However I am not suggesting we remove luck since no matter what that would be impossible. However what I am suggesting we remove are the omega pro luck cores and give the owners of said cores a full refund.

This would include the following cores

Ninja reflexes
Deflection shield
Weapon mastery cores
Stun blast

Now I didn't mention any of the anti luck cores because these cores do just that weaken the effects of these luck occurrences. I didn't mention mark of Azreal, stun shot or any of the pre omega cores since these cores weren't causing this extremely annoying and out of control luck either.

So in a nutshell what I am saying is this. Omega cores that increase luck factors should go while all of the anti luck core that reduce luck factors and the pre omega luck cores (since these have been proven not to cause all this out of control luck) can stay. With only the old luck cores and the new anti luck cores left a lot of these unfair lucky happens will have less of a chance to happen, and with the anti luck cores helping the players when these luck factors do happen they aren't as painful.

So what are your thought on this suggestion?

In truth, cores are pretty much like the old enhancements pre-Omega.

Some people had more slots than others and this gave them an advantage. The weapons with more slots (Usually the varium-based ones) have a clear advantage. Cores are rather similar in that only people who can afford them will gain an advantage.

Problem is, what then?

You'd see more complainers running about in the forums telling them to bring said cores back, this would negatively impact the players' opinion about the staff in that they didn't consider how the population would react, rather, they're just satisfying the needs of a certain group than everyone in general.

I'd have to disagree even with a full refund primarily because of the reaction it would have to spoiled players who -want- an advantage. My only concern is not balance, but the aftermath it would leave after this suggestion is implemented. Plenty of people have been complaining about sudden band aid fixes and even criticize the staff heavily for the updates they bring. Add an extra step downwards and it may spiral down below.

Regardless, the fact that you cooked this up primarily because you're enraged of the misfortune of receiving numerous chance-hits would make this rather biased.

---

Don't decide when you're angry, it clouds up judgement.

Anyway, supported. I don't care if players become enraged, as long as the game is balanced. Some players bought these cores just because other players' luck increased so they needed to be on par with them. Might as well wipe out the whole thing and forget these cores were implemented.

Don't make them a full refund. 6,000 credits at the most. They already had their fun with it since January.

@Dual

The way you worded it, you look rather enraged about it as well.

Care to give some more valid points as to why? Your reasoning sounds like you had a grudge.

If you read my original post I said it myself I have no issues with luck itself. I know it comes and goes, and it can work for or against you. That I know is how luck is and I can live with it. I made this suggestion for those who couldn't stand in their words the crazy luck factors that happen too much.

As for my last comment the meaning of it was I myself usually tend to think of the consequences of said things myself as well.

I would have to support this one.

Their are only so many possible passive cores, yet they decide to give us only cores that increase/decrease the random luck factors.
Given the upcoming change (passives to actives (not this week but later)) it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the luck factor increasing cores for cores such as a mini-bloodlust or reroute core of 5% or such.

@Khalix
You...you....you do realize that ever since Omega started, every single player was fully against these luck cores, i highly doubt they will actually miss them.
These cores do nothing else then improve the luck factors, while this can be good for some builds, it is still so sad to not see any of the 51 suggested Passive Cores.
This is not a band-aid fix at all, it is removing the change that has caused alot of people to stop and alot of people to rage about luck.

AKA, i bet no one actually minds them getting removed (in exception for a few luck factor embrassers), especially not when refunded 100%.

I do not suggest the removal, just nerfing. They say this "luck" is in small percentages, and yet they take affect so much more.

At the start of Omega, everyone was excited about these cores but a few months later, when they're on the receiving end of these cores, they start complaining.

No one talks about what benefits they experience because receiving benefits is considered "Normal" for them. After all, human psyche dictates that in a social standing, one will only be happy when either equal or higher than their colleagues. In online gaming, winning is perfectly normal and the benefits are overlooked, however, the moment they start losing, they immediately vent their rage somewhere- In this case, the forums.

They usually start looking for things to blame, things to get rid of to ensure that they retain the equality or advantage they had while playing- Losing isn't fun to a gamer after all; Unless you're watching someone else fail, then you start laughing.

Long story short, the opinions you're talking about came from the forums, a den for experienced players and a near-forgotten plain for newer players.

We were excited about the previews of meteor and energy storm. We had no clue that they would bring these luck passives in.

Wrong.
They were excited about the phenomenon Cores, once they saw the cores they were disappointed mayorly.

It seems you are not aware of what was going on during the beginning of Omega in the community.
And when i look at your character, it has no Delta Knight, which (probably) means you werent there at the start of Omega.
I myself wasn't even around in the forums during the start of Omega, so i do not know how much there has been complained here.
I have 60 friends in my bl (not much but i don't need much friends) and every single one of them was fully against these luck cores.
When i went to Oz 7, everyone there also was disappointed in these cores.

So, again, these luck cores are everything but good for this game, they should be removed and replaced with actual passive cores, not this trash.

@Mysterion

Steffanov is an alt. I've lost an account during a certain phase in ED- I distinctively remember Massacre being completely blockable, it was the phase where free players could enter ED.

I checked threads during the first 3 months of Omega's release.

There are more people wondering if the cores even work, debating their uses and making builds revolving them- But minimal complaining.

The whole "Luck" complaints started -after- the initial months of Omega.

i support thie change strongly. i dont have such ahuge grudge against blocking anymore, its okay. what really grinds my gears are crits, and im not gonna go into another rant, i just do have most tale, just from last night, and two nights ago:

facing two level 35's as a 33 and 34.. not a big issues, my partner and i could have handled it actually, but then the crits started. 3 in a row on him. it was a smoke, a bot and a sidearm. not like plasma cannon or bunker. he died leaving me alone ( i was the 33) againsta bounty hunter and blood mage, who just regained liked 30 health in total due to bloodlust.
that is my other problem with crits and stuf. i think the miniscule increment in rage from receiving a crit is also not quite fair, because you end up having to heal after, also using energy, and now they have gained a ton of rage, you missed a turn to attack, and have a greater disadvantage than just lower health.
but this is not about rage.
i fully support the removal of these cores from my inventory, if everyone else got this too. i dont expect a refund, but i wouldnt mind it.
although i think it would be nice to give new cores then, with different effect of course, for the variety of selection.

Thread 1.
Thread 2.
Thread 3.
Thread 4. (This one is regarding full Omega update, yet mentions cores aswell)
Thread 5. (Complaining going on in here aswell)
I will not look further, it seems you didn't even bother to actually read threads.

No one had liked these luck cores (except for some luck factor embrassers), Khalix.

I think your suggestion is good. That less luck factor. Remove them.

Or if we keep those cores. Make those cores less affective. Halve all core affect.
This make less luck factors.

Suggestion . If both player is same core that nullify each others. Example both is gun mastery. Both players nullify gun mastery.
This can be balance luck factors too.

Ninja reflexes
Deflection shield
Weapon mastery cores
Stun blast
This cores rising luck factors.

This game need some luck factors

raw example

High stregth, high healt player whit low dex versus tank mercenary. Tank player is high dex and high tech.
Tank player needs block and deflection to survive. It is very odd if heavy attacker can doing every turn max damage.

Remember make suggestion./s. Others suggestion can be always modify/rework/edit again.

Personally, I'm all neutral, if we're replacing this, we should get a free core to select or at least a 90% refund. A nice core imo for armor is like maybe rage gain +5%, another core would be like maybe foes take like only 90% of your energy, just in case you've always get emped or energy stolen. I know these cores might be declined if we're replacing the luck cores, but just my saying.

@Mysterion

2nd and 5th thread had no complaints about luck.

2nd thread talked about cores, but not necessarily about luck.
5th thread only had 1 search result for "Luck" (ctrl+f luck) and the comment even mentioned:

quote:

make the luck factor (first turn blocks and crits ) not so game breaking

---

The rest of the threads...

1st thread's initial post is about whether or not the cores work, it progressed into a small talk about the luck factor involved, however only 2 of 7 posters talked about it in a single page.
4th thread had a mix-match of players who support the idea that cores are too luck-reliant and players otherwise. Nonetheless, there were people supporting cores at the time.

Only the 3rd thread is legitimately focused on luck.

---

That's 1 of 5.

As I've said, minimal initial complaints.

/supported, get rid of passive luck cores, keep passive class skills. Keep things like Nanosteel Armor, Overshield, and Laser Sights that make lucky breaks more(or less) devastating, but get rid of things that make them occur more often.

why not make lower and upper tier cores depending on level range? that would fix all this

Luck(for example: critical) is essential to deal with tanks,or higher level opponents.

Therefore, i don't support this.

No, it's not. Against tanks, you have Rage which works off your damage and your opponent's defences. Crits are supposed to be damage boosters, not something to be a must against tanks.
