Hmm, four Darkness competitors? Foohy. Oh well, this will be fun. I guess I'll post when I'm coherent tomorrow. I don't even know why I'm online at 11:00 PM.

Err... I'm not sure what I'm doing exactly. So the arena is how large? Also, is it just an open area filled with pillars and moss?

Read all these carefully.
quote:

One of the now leaving spellweavers conjured up an opened scroll above the entrance, which would levitate there until the end of the match. Those who would care to read it would have found out that the place they are about to enter had more than just regular protective shield enchantments - rather, the ordinary enough looking mirror walls the fighters would find inside were of magical nature, and not only act as a protective barrier for the spectators behind it, but also make any projectile flung at it - magic or not - simply bounce off, much like simple a ray of light would from a regular mirror. On a more disturbing note, the scroll also stated that no wound would ever heal whilst in the Cellar, not even by ways of magic. If the group of healers and doctors standing about just outside the entrance were to be of any consolation, the shovels lined up against the wall and the priests near them were most definitely not.

quote:

The fight was about to begin, but first a quick glance would reveal the interior of the room - it was square in shape, with the mirror walls they knew to expect there...

The walls are mirrors. Cross-reference with the above paragraph - the mirrors reflect any projectile that hits them, magic or not.

quote:

There were four humongous round pillars of plain grey stone, as wide as a man with his arms spread out, in the middle of the room forming a square shape as the room did. The floors, ceiling, and pillars had all been restored to a pristine, almost unnatural smoothness, without a chink or crack to be seen in the stone.
Big wide open area with four pillars at the support points towards the center. BIG pillars.

quote:

The customary torches on the pillars were gone, however, and it took a moment to discern just where the pervasive soft lighting of the Arena came from. The answer was in patches of bioluminescent mosses that grew in irregular patches around and on the pillars, and along the edges of the mirrors. With the mirrors' reflection of the light, the Cellar far from the dark, damp place one would imagine a room of such a name to be.

So the moss is around and on the pillars, and lining the mirror walls, and it glows.

quote:

It took the enchanters quite a bit of time to get out of the Cellar Arena, as it was quite a ways down into the ground. One could see the granite walls of the main part of the Arena Complex right above the now open heavy metal Cellar gate - the underground arena was placed right under the original, First Arena!

Size? It's under the original Arena. A bit of history - in the 2005 EC, this arena was used to house every single entrant in the Grand Melee of the dropoffs round. So its big.

Cellar has the most people in it. It can hold them. So it is big.

And don't forget, you can't heal in Cellar. At all.

So it's large and made of mirrors. I get that. A few more questions...

1. Just how large would it be?

2. Just to clarify, are the pillars stone, not mirrors?

3. How far apart are the pillars?

4. How high is the ceiling, and is it made of mirrors as well?

5. The entrance. Is there a five second rule, or could I be ambushed the moment I step inside?

Understand I speak only from experience. Kell has the final word.

1. Specific dimensions can only be provided by Kell. The general understanding is "Large enough."

2. Pillars are stone.

3. Far enough apart for battle to happen between them.

4. Big enough to accommodate a nine foot demon-thing, but not an eighteen foot demon-thing. Twelve feet, maybe? And no, it's not mirrored. Mirror WALLS. Walls.

5. There is no five second rule. If you want to start combat in the first round of posts, you can, though obviously someone else has to have already posted their entry for you to be able to attack them.

The Arena has a twelve foot high ceiling of stone, no mirrors.

As a side note/explanation for no healing in Cellar. What this means, is you can't heal, regeneration and normal coagulation of blood will not occur. You can, of course, still bind or seal the wound in some other manner, but most of those techniques would either slow bleeding, like a tourniquet or bandage, or cause more damage to to so, like cauterizing or freezing a wound.

Fenys has entered. This is quite the cast of characters. I'm looking forward to this years combat. Should be a lot of fun!

:/ Well this is going to be a challenge. No healing. Phooey. Hopefully, this shouldn't be too bad...

Oh, and there's a typo first post XD You forgot one of the T's. It's no biggie, just pointing that out.

Anyway, it'll be fun fighting with you all. I can't post tonight due to time constraints and a splitting headache, but I will write something quickly in the morning and hopefully get the ball rolling.

Have to postpone my post for a day or so, due to some unexpected events (namely, my cousin and their family coming over without me knowing about it). Don't worry; I have most of the post done, just need a paragraph or so, a revision, then posting.

D: THE WORDS FEEL SO NAKED D:

Anyway, I have posted. Tantatto is not your average ninja; Korsui hunt and fight in pairs, something that has made him feel more than a little lonely before the start of this competition. I am pleased with the sizable post :D

Worth noting, Marcos is not holding the book. It is floating. I see that I left this detail out in my post. The book is MUCH too large and heavy to be easily carried.

I DID state in the beginning of the post that his books were floating around him. This one is doing the same, but in front of him. My mistake for failing to include that specific detail at that specific point. Note, don't bother editing to reflect this, Starstruck. As you know, the rules state no edits. Just for future reference - Marcos does not hold his books. They float. *Nods*

/facepalm

Yes, of course. I neglected to include that detail; how silly of me. I shall simply interpret that to mean that it would appear to be held from so low a vantage point. The next post should reflect this discrepancy of view and reality.

EDIT: At least, if there is a reason for this to be revealed.

This year is looking good to me. Confined space, various victims err... competitors, bloodthirsty merciless demonic giant.
That's a recipe for an excellent tournament if you ask me. :D

I'll be reading over the OOC as well as the IC threads, but just to make things easier, if there is a question or concern you wish to address to me specifically, highlight that portion of your post in some way, or PM me.

Krey, in what position is Marcos in relationship to the pillars?

He is on the South end, directly visible from the entrance through the space between the four pillars. He also has a book floating in midair in front of him. A great big book with ice for bindings. Yay magic books!

Hmm... there ARE shadows in the arena, no? Otherwise, Kainrahn will be stuck in a very bad situation. Next year, remind me to make someone less impulsive and rash.

And Moardakka's Icy Pellets have been RELEASED! Despair, ye villains and evildoers and erm... I suppose the good guys too? They don't really care.

Simply put, icicles flying everywhere til they hit something that is not a mirror wall!

Also, as far as the Gem, Marcos' sword-staff-thing, as he is casting it is floating around him. Like everything else he has.

Err, should I link my first post to my bio now? Or am I supposed to let Kell know that beforehand?

Also, do I have to ask a user for their permission to allow my character to engage his/hers in battle?

I'm very new to this fast-paced form of RP.
