What is the Saint equipped with?

Kellehendros -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (4/21/2016 19:36:38)

I'm not particularly fussed. Whatever you want to give her is fine by me.

Vanir -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (4/23/2016 8:42:50)

Now some excitement!

I'll try to get a post in tonight or tomorrow.

Remaint -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (4/23/2016 18:29:22)

I look forward to what Flannagon may do!

Update:

I did, and I am not disappointed!
Usually I find writing in a bible-esque style to bore me and ward away my attention(hence I am unable to enjoy some of Tolkien's written work), but somehow, Vanir forces it so that I find must it amusing!

quote:

“Witness and record with your pen the events of your time, so that your children may learn from your mistakes. We are not leaving. The time has come to worship.”

“The time has come to worship. Witness and record!”

Flannagon's so badass!
I'm inclined to say Vanir is among the best in writing religious-associated figures!

Apocalypse -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (4/24/2016 23:50:10)

Cendra: Facing down against the Saint who scarred her and replaced her!

Flannagon: Casting words of fire upon the traitor he has followed!

Hendrik: Yo, you wanna hear a song?

Kellehendros -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (4/25/2016 18:40:48)

Apoc, you've got your signature in the IC post. Could you remove that please?

Apocalypse -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (4/25/2016 19:17:26)

Whoops, my bad. What I get for using a phone to write.

Caststarter -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (4/25/2016 22:12:24)

So, dah. Perhaps I should reveal what kind of happened with me over... the month I think. So essentially. My four month old computer had to have its hard-drive replaced where it would not even start anymore. That took about three weeks in itself. Then, after a bit of home issues, the monitor needed to be replaced as it practically just die as well. With a full month of tech issues, I could not access GDocs as my school Chromebook has an IP block here. So that was useless. We got this one but this is connected to another person so I could still not access... with the hard-drive replaced. I can now access it JUST to play catch-up which is the most annoying thing in the world, where I am just going to address that in the IC via other means, as I am sure you all do not want a repeat of what happened. So with that, sorry about all that but I can do things now where something can be done shortly.

I have quoted the Bible in almost every post with Flannagon, in both his dialogue and the narration. With his dialogue and inner monologues, I want to show his familiarity with the sacred writings in this setting. I could imitate the style, but my writing is no where near 3,000 year old Hebrew poetry and prophetic literature. And I believe it makes my purpose much more direct. I am deeply religious myself, and so most of my characters tend towards that. I really enjoy writing Flannagon. He struggles to redeem himself under the yoke of his Pietistic theology, which is impossible for he bears the black mark and any good deed he may do is as a dirty rag. As a result of this, he is very angry. Since there are no statues of Baan to destroy, he directs that anger at everyone else around him. What he doesn't realize he needs is forgiveness, which I hope to bring to him throughout the rest of the RP. Unless he enrages everyone else into killing him before that happens and his time is cut short. That would make me sad. I almost had Flannagon launch a fireball at Cendra in my most recent post, but I decided I did want to keep him alive longer.

Anyway, glad to hear that my style isn't boring you.

@Caststarter: Sorry to hear about your technology troubles. Having the hard drive fail at four months and having the monitor fail at the same time is infuriating. I hope everything may cooperate with you from now on.

As a whole our pacing has slowed. For myself, and I suspect several others, with the end of an academic term at hand the walls are closing in from all sides. Once summer breaks through things should return to the normal speed.

Apocalypse -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (5/11/2016 17:02:55)

@Kell: For reference, are the bodies of the dead Saints still in the Plaza?

Kellehendros -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (5/11/2016 18:41:51)

Barring anyone else having moved them, yes.

I apologize for not getting my own post up yesterday as has been my habit. I am presently holding off in deference to Vanir, since my last was addressed to him. I know that Ryu has a post in the pipe, and hopefully that will be up soon after his absence due to massive computer failure. Got a PM from Cast a couple days ago, so hopefully something there as well.

I'm going to be out of town this weekend for a minor family emergency. Again, I apologize for the delay. Expect my next post Tuesday (5/17) at the latest. If things clear up earlier (and posts come in) I'll get one up more quickly.

Caststarter -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (5/17/2016 14:56:29)

Post is finally out... thank... goodness. Though, I am sorry for any odd anything due to how long it was. So could I ask someone to look at it and tell me if anything is wrong? It is hard to tell at this point, despite my best efforts.

Needless to say though, I am going to attempt to be on point from here on.

Apocalypse -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (6/4/2016 23:12:03)

Posted, and the further we go on, the funnier I find Hendrik's ignorance.

Poor bloke doesn't even know he's supposed to be slaying a wyrm

Kellehendros -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (6/8/2016 0:29:41)

I do apologize for the delay. I was not able to finish my post due to some other commitments on my end. I'll have it finalized and up tomorrow night.

Edit: Apologies again, just wanted to make a note that I forgot to mention the fact that when Cendra pulls the lever, the case up top in the temple moves back into place and seals the shaft.

Apocalypse -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (7/22/2016 17:19:54)

Better late than never, right? Welcome to the danger zone.

Ryu Viranesh -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (9/19/2016 21:12:46)

The tales of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Kind of. Anyway, consider the monstrosity of a post that is to follow my re-entry into this RP, hopefully to continue without necessitating another one of these. Cheers!

Apocalypse -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (2/23/2017 22:20:08)

Posted. Hendrik may have ruined things. Oops.

Kellehendros -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (3/2/2017 22:51:13)

Perhaps so.

The next bit is going to be some horde action. The kobolds are monsters out of the legends of the Wyrm, and the main things to know about them are that they hunt in swarms, and they will eat literally anything.

As noted by Strasna, ancient Palorans referred to kobold packs as "devasations" or sometimes "famines", because of their proclivity for consuming anything and everything they could get their claws on. This includes their own dead, or those too wounded to resist.

The kobolds are riding the weights up, but soon enough they'll start crawling their way up onto the platforms and bridges, even up along the walls. While the Spearcase is burning from Hendrik's oil they should be fairly visible, but even in the dark they can be seen. Their silver eyes glow faintly in the dark, which gives their position away. Not that it helps much when you're piled under by a swarm of the things.

If you have any questions, let me know.

darkborn202 -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (10/22/2019 23:11:32)

Cough, cough.

Is this RP still up and going? If so, is it still accepting?

..I know I see that the last post happened on the 20th... just not really seeing if it actually happened when I look on the thread itself.

Kellehendros -> RE: When Heroes Fail - OOC (10/23/2019 0:16:21)

Greetings darkborn202. I appreciate the interest. The RP is, despite appearances, still alive, but I'm afraid that it is not accepting new applicants at this time.

Hopefully things will pick up in the next bit, and there may be some future prospects once WHF finds its conclusion.
