5. 5 years ago I was really really hoping that I'd be able to do game development. It's a notoriously difficult field to get into, so I figured I'd be okay with a more generic programming job. Very glad I didn't have to settle for that, though.

Hey Hudelf! I got a couple questions for you.
I myself want to be a programmer when I grow up! (I just started high-school this year...xD)What are some tips/advice you have? What is the best language to start with? etc.

JAVA is a great language to start out with because it's extremely user-friendly and it's well documented. Since most games are coded in C++ (Flash games are coded in AS3), JAVA provides the backbone for most of the more "advanced" and "older" lanugages.

May have answered this already, but really just pick one and learn the basics. Simple languages include C# (C-sharp), Java, Python, but it doesn't matter what you start with. Just find a tutorial on how to get started and just do it. Practice, practice. :)

Finished it on vacation. One of my top 5 favorite books. Was fantastic, aside from some weirdness at the end.

Hi Hudelf, just want to say that I appreciate your game improvements and skills alot.
Two milestone in ED was the lag fix and the new retrain system. Very well done !

@Hudelf Is there any relation between C++ and AS 3.0.

I ask because I wish to learn(and I am learning some AS 3.0) but I was given a C++ book for Christmas.
