In your opinion what kind of mage do you prefer a battle mage (sword mage) or a caster mage (mage with staff)

 A battle mage doesn't need a sword to be a battle mage. They just rely more on their primary and gun than their aux(support mage) or spells(caster mage). Both are really fun if you can actually make a build for them. Casters are more fun to me since at least 90%+ of the high level population think of Casting as a dead build and it just feels great making a build that proves them wrong.

Battle Mage is 50% stronger than caster unless their sidearm and aux is so weak.

 Both have there uses Caster is more powerful at the lower levels but once you get to higher levels Battle is more effective

i find the caster mages kinda of weak at higher levels. I hit their max plasma blast with 70 tech in normal attack.

A borderline caster mage, meaning a mage with a staff and a leve... 3-6 spell to cast. It's a nice way to keep the spells usefull while assuring victory and keeping that versitile thing that all mages have.

 Hybrid is teh most fun. A level 1 supercharge is epic. But as far as consistency, percentage and tanking ability, spells should be used carefully to supplement. Spells cannot be relied on as the only source of high damage.

If you count Asim as a spell , i say Caster mage but in my opinion Asim is not a real skill so Im a battle mage.The other skills like Plasma bolt ,Overload is useless in high lwls they require lots of energy + they do less dmg.

I and always will be a Battle Mage becasue casters waste there enegry on one move battle mage could heal up to 3 times in one game and i believe casters can heal 1 time

To add for my previous post: Hybrid with a mix of level 10 SuperCharge that can only work in one of my ideas. ;)

It's neither. Both forms of mages are awful at the moment, a mage that uses a sword will have lost all of their skills and a caster mage runs out of energy too fast.

both are not awful, sorry their isnt some cheap build out there like smoke/massacre for you to abuse in 1v1.


and ima battle mage that uses a staff (cryomancer), i prefer str over support so my build is aggresive with strikes and makes my sidearm (skullfire blaster) cut through defence like butter.

 Depending on the situation, any build can be effective. One must create a build and formula of play that they should be comfortable. In regard to my choice, I respect all of them. My build is a passive defensive form. Not strong in any one area, so I rely on patience. It is not a fan favorite, but I have been able to compete with the same composite build from my early levels through the wacky and unusual stages within this game into level 32. I don't play this game for victors, but just the thrill to compete. Right now, my main primary is outdated for current standards for Varium players, and I personally enjoy working for every victor, or even a loss, the ability just to compete.
