Well, I Wanted To Breifly State Something Here... Even Though This Might Be Best Placed In Artix Games 'General Discussion'...BUT...I'm Wondering What The ED Community Thinks.

I Am Best Known As "Buffy", Here In EpicDuel, But I Have Some Pretty Sweet Accounts In Both AQW And Herosmash As Well.

Here's The Concern/Problem... As An Artix Entertainment Multi Gamer, I Have To Say, It's Getting To Be A Bit Too Much.

I Play ED The Most, But I Also Enjoy AQW Alot And Check In With Herosmash On Occasion. All Wonderful Games. But As A Multi Game Player, This Fact Actually Hurts Me.

Spreading My Time And Money On All 3 Games Has Become Nearly Impossible To Keep Up With The Constant Barrage Of Seasonal Rares, Limited Rares, AC Items, Smashcoins, Etc...

Which Strangely, Seem To Be Coming More Frequently.

Now I Admit, I Make Matters Much Worse, By Having "Alts" In All The Games Too... BUT... Is It Just Me, Or Are These Games Getting Really "Pricey" For Flashbrowser Games?

Also, The Matter Of Time. Now I Know, "Free" Play Is An Option. And No One Says That You Have To Be Top Level In Everygame...But, For Example, Now Herosmash, Is Doing PvP...

And Having A (Daily, Weekly, All Time) Leaderboard Like EpicDuel. Seriously? They Are Even Offering A Promo Package. *Facepalm*

Which, For The Record, Seems Strange, As Whenever I Log Onto HS, There Are Only 200-250 Players On Total. A Very Small Gaming Community It Seems.

I Thought We Were A Small Community...But We Are Alot Bigger Than HS. lol

I Was Just Wondering, Are There Any EpicDuelers, Who Manage An "Elite" Type Account In Other AE Games? And How Do You Feel About The Direction Of AE Games As A Whole?

Personally, There's No Way I Can Be Level 34 In ED, Level 45 in AQW, And Level 20 In HS, And Constantly Buy Many Seasonals And Rares...Be On The Leaderboards, Etc...

Maybe I Don't Need To. Maybe I Shouldn't...

But Do I Really Even Have The Option? Is It Even Possible To Do That?

Another Example... Because Of My Time And Money Sepnt On EpicDuel, It's Taken Away Somewhat In Time/Money Spent On My AQW/HS Accounts. Not To Mention Leveling Them Up Fully.

And I LOVE My AQW Account, Alot. lol

I'm Not Trying To Be Negative Towards AE's Pursuit Of Expanding Their Games (As They Should)...

It's Just, I've Been "Flirting" With Other Games Of Late... Both Console (XBOX 360) And Online (MMORPG)... I'll Avoid Comparisons, And Try And Keep This Strictly AE Related.

Just Curious What 'OUR' Community Felt About AE Games As A Whole. The Value, Fun, And Direction Of The Company Overall.

I'm Not Creating This Thread To Attack Or Flame AE Games, But To Get Some Insight Into How & Why Our Players Support And Manage "Crossover Play" In AE Games.

I Rarely See This Mentioned Or Discussed.

I For One, Was A Bit Surprised And Overwhelmed At HS's Recent Direction. Promo Packs, Leaderboards, PvP, etc.

AQW Has Certainly Expanded As Well, With It's Card Game Going "National". (Toys R Us)

Feel Free To Dicuss Without Simply Stating The Obvious... AE Is Big Business.

And On A Final Note, Do You Think EpicDuel Is Getting Satisfactory Treatment In The Big Picture, As A Game And Community, Compared To Other AE Games?

Entering The New Year... What Do You See, Hope, For The Future of ED And AE Games In Comparison, To Other Gaming Companies And Online Games.

See, The Thing Is, I Think ED And AE In General Has Played Up It's "Indy" Style Game Company Rep A Bit. Very Clever. It Seems To Be "Expanding" At An Alarming Rate.

Do You Expect To Be A Part Of That In 2012 And Beyond?

For me, upgrading one account in any game means I am inclined to spend more time on it. Hence, I put aside my F2P AQ and DF accounts for my spare time, and pretty much given up on MQ. I spend most time on ED, so I hardly keep track of the other browser game updates.

Personally I would rather splurge on Xbox 360 games, like FIFA and other stuff which have regular free patches. I won't go into detail, but I think focusing on 1 game is more manageable. I can't seem to play DF and ED simultaneously.

for me playing all of my accs and maxing them up are close to impossible and so i decided to only upgrade one of it which was at MQ and was a lvl 40 and i stopped playing it, i quit aqw when i'm lvl 29 as the game doesnt excite me much , adventure quest was until lvl 82 until I decided to play irregularly as the equipment prices were very expensive = hard to get

ED is more challenging and is the only char i have in AE that is at its cap

The main problem for people loyal to this company would be keeping in track with every game they have as most of the time they have weekly updates that would leave us behind

Like Jekyll i play console game more and it gets more annoying to try to keep up with all of the games in AE , so in the future it would be most likely that players will only have one or two game that they play the most out of every AE single one, as being left behind would most likely demotivate people from playing some of the accs as keeping up with one game is already a pain in the ass

I had played 3-4 AE games at once but it was definetly to much. 1-2 AE games is my limit now.
What annoys me alot in AE games is that they flood their weekly releases with tons of
items that nobody needs. Quantity instead of quality. I remember the good old days when
AQ was a break game with maybe 1-3 new items every few weeks. It had crappy graphics
but was fun. Bludrut dungeon ftw !

They have 6 games for a reason and that is so people may hopefully find at least one game they enjoy playing above the rest and support that game. They didn't expect someone to like all the games and constantly support all 6 of them. I don't have any problems with money in AQW. The last time I bought Membership in AQW was when I bought Mem in HS. I've bought maybe a total of a years worth of Mem for AQW, including the mem from buying mem in HS. You can't complain about having to buy all the rares and seasonals in AQW or HS because they do nothing but look good. They don't give stats any differently than anything else. They just look different. Sure there are times when you really want something from each game or several but there are still free offers to do for the Artix Points. If you want to keep supporting all the games then be my guest. I'll stick to one or two games as it is for now.

@ ND...

You're A Bit Misinformed. Firstly, Part Of The Reason I Decided To Post This Is The Fact That Herosmash Is Evolving. It's Not Just A "Look Cool" Game Anymore.

Herosmash Is Now Heavily Focusing On PvP And "Stat" (Level) Based Powers. They Will Be Introducing A Leaderboards As Well Very Soon. It's Far From Dress Up Now.

It's Getting To Be Very Quest (Missions) And PvP Style... Almost A Hybrid Actually Of EpicDuel And AQW.

Secondly, I Find It A Bit Hypocritical Of You To Condem Those Who Support Multiple AE Games, When You Yourself Admit To Buying Membership For Multiple Games (2 Is More Than 1 Last I Checked).

Nor Did I State I Was Going To Continue To Support Multiple Games In 2012. I've Actually Made Several References To... "Experimenting With Other Games (Companies)"...Both In And Out Of This Forum.

* And Like A Marriage Growing Stale... Buffy Is On The Prowl For Something... Different... Maybe Someone Who Will Appreciate Me More. A Fitting Analogy I Believe.

I Was Simply Wondering What Other ED Players (Our Community) Felt About AE's Rapidly Growing Expansion ($$$) And Their Involvement If They Played (And Upgraded/Maintained) Multiple AE Games.

@ lynxian

You Actually Summarized My Entire Point (If One 'Reads Between The Lines') In One Simple Sentence.

>>> "...keeping up with one game is already a pain in the ass"

Indeed.

AQ=one time expenditure and 5+years of game play
DF=3 time game expenditure and 4+ years game play
MQ=2 time game expenditure and 4+ years game play
ED= monthly expenditures and soon to be 3 years of game play
HS=no expenditure at all and mild game play
AQW=no interest and no game play
PvP= one time game expenditure and few months game play

Played almost every one of them, top level with multiple players in most of them and minimal cash outlay for the vast majority of them, AE does good by me with the exception of ED.

ED is a money sucking machine which drains nearly the smallest player pool for the greatest amount of upkeep of all AE games.

I have no trouble keeping up with the games I play, it's not that tough to stay competitive but the cost of ED makes it a bit much to bear. With that point I think we all can agree.

For me I find it way to rediculous to keep with more than one game in ae entertainment, even one takes time and money. However, I feel that is a good thing (except for the money part lol) because if you could keep up with all the games that would mean each individual game would be not to exciting or expanding and I personally like only one of ae's gAmes. I think it was a well put statement that there are so many games so you choose the one that best fits you. If you really feel the need to dominate in all games, that sounds like a personal problem to me. Remember, there is no need to upgrade every time a new item comes out, most games are actually quite fun to play free. Only you can choose what is rare or special for you. ( there are some free weapons in Ed that I find better looking than some varium weapons for example.

Buffy, if you could put your money into MQ, that'd be great.

You know, rather than complaining with your ridiculous sums of money you could be doing a lot of good. (Like saving MQ)

I manage my "top-tier" accounts easily through many AE games IE, AQ, DF, AQW, ED and HS. However, that is only because I do not have any alts so my attention isn't split between characters per AE game. But besides AE games I play lots of other games via console or portable system. It is pretty easy to manage them due to the weekly release schedule.

ED is without a doubt one of the most expensive Flash games out there. I happily tell people to avoid the game at all costs (no pun intended).

Also (and here's a point often overlooked), ED is, in their own words, currently in a "testing phase."

So they're charging premium prices for a Flash game that's in a developmental phase?

WTH is wrong with that picture?

^ That is exactly why I don't buy it that where in "testing phase" when where in the fourth stage of the game.

This is exactly why i devote most of my money to ED.
While it is true that i have spent mediocre ammounts on Dragonfable, Adventurequest, Mechquest, and AQWorlds (in that order) i have devoted more than 6-% of my online spending to ED. It's easier that way.

I had a similar problem. I can't keep up Halo Reach, EVE, ED, and AQW all together.
I had to choose. I chose Reach and ED.
Between school, working, social life, extra curricular (Music, sports) and sleep, I simply don't have the time to play.
I have to tip my hat to AE. I think their greatest achievement is making their games so addictive.
It's not easy to quit. I still miss AQW and EVE. I still go on, but that's maybe once a month (if that).
You'll just have to prioritize. Real life should always come first. If you don't have the time, cut back.

Also, when it comes to money, I spend roughly 110$ Canadian on ED, and around 200$ on Xbox.
I'm able to afford this because I work and study very hard, but it's becoming harder and harder with my
growing dedication to ED. I'm going to have to either stop ED and Live entirely, or quit playing ED.
I hope it doesn't come to that.

Buffy i dont know about you but i drop the AE games i started with AQ and DF then dropped AQ for MQ then dropped MQ for AQW then dropped AQW for ED then picked up and quickly dropped HS. So you just have to keep switching up your support of your game so they have a chance to get some great fun things in while you are not playing and the promos that happened whilst you were gone do not affect you but the current(and presumably the strongest/coolest) does so it can be a win win
