Oh dear.
Somehow, you've been transported to an alternate universe. Everything is more or less the same in this universe, but all the characters in the (e.g.) The Tempest have been alternate-universified. They aren't even the same alternate-universified versions!
How does this even work? I'll elucidate using my own Tempest character Lizzy.
Lizzy is a part-Orc apprentice-level pacifist witch who fights with blow darts loaded with incapacitating potions. All of the following would be acceptable alternate universe Lizzies.
Lizzy is no longer pacifist. She is now an archer with potion-tipped arrows.
Lizzy is no longer part-Orc. She is now part-Elf.
Lizzy is no longer an apprentice-level witch. She is now an apprentice-level Ranger.
Lizzy is no longer apprentice-level at witchery. She is significantly older than Normal Universe Lizzy.
Lizzy is no longer naive and goody two shoes. She is now malicious and bad-tempered.
Currently there are two RPs that could be Alternate-Universified. Tempest will be the easiest because everyone is sort of already a part of that by default, so it wouldn't exclude people who don't feel inclined towards joining RPs like Ruins of Paxia or the Elemental Championships, but who are super duper on board with the idea of an alternate universe version of their characters.
