During holidays we get a handful of gears in the shop and while that's all fine and dandy they're merely cosmetic and have no value to them other than a title that says "seasonal rare" on them. What reason is there to buy any of these gears? I'm thinking seasonal (holiday) items should have a credit/varium discount. This'll encourage purchase of seasonal items and allow players to celebrate the holiday by purchasing and using said gears. I also think seasonal gears should get a buff in stats maybe +4 during that holiday for each gear so that when the holidays come round, people can participate by using full Christmas, Halloween, Saint Patrick's day gear etc.

I LOVE The Idea Of Seasonal Rares Getting A Bonus During Their Actual Season Event!

That Would Be Fun And Make Buying/Using Those Weapons During That Time Very Useful.

Excellent Idea!

Yeah, and cause imbalance because some items would be a must during certain seasons - and multiple weapons would mean even bigger bonus. Rarity is nothing, except for rarity - you get more Rating Points and the joy of having a rare item. Not an advantage.

^ Exactly. If they were to give stat advantages, it would be crazy having to keep on changing gear to fit with every seasons stat advantages.

So you'd gladly give up your rare cores if and or buy the same cores just for temporary buffed items? You put no thought into your post Trans which is unusual for you. This is merely two examples of giving incentive to invest in seasonal rare cores that isn't just some meaningless achievement.

In the same way, people said no one would buy consumable +stat cores, yet people do for sake of advantage. Some things don't need a lot of thought being put into them, if an issue is straightforward. This is Omega and all items are the same - not like in previous phases.

I agree with both sides in this case. Itis rare for me to be Indecisive.. I agree with trans in the way that ALL items in omega are the same, therefore no special discounts should be given. BUT! These ARE Christmas rares, And in my opinion, They should have at least. AT LEAST! A 8% discount.
To any religious people. (No hate) Christmas is a time of giving and receiving. Not being faced to mindlessly farm extra credits to obtain a better looking weapon with a more substantial locked core... Therefore. In this case. I agree more with Valkyrie knight.

I'm fine with discounts, but not something that affects balance. This gives some players an advantage that isn't needed - "I'm too poor to afford x weapon, so I will be weaker than others for y amount of time!"

In essence, it'd be buffing Varium because it's a shortcut, and Credits take time - plus, if you lose more, you gain less Credits. So yeah, I find it justified.

@ valkyrieknight

What about people who are hard core players, and have so much credits to actually buy these items without problem? They would have no problem doing this since they have the credits to spend.

Then there are people who collectors and have a lot of the seasonal rare items from before. They would also have no problem doing this since they already own them.

Next believe it or not the arcades also have several seasonal rare items as prizes and we have some players who already won some of them. Heck I won the seasonal rare nightwraith aux from the arcade myself, and if this came into play whenever nightwraith's birthday event came in I could use the aux for a stat point advantage if I wanted.

So while some players might not be able to do this other's can and for those who can those players will have an unfair advantage over those who can't. It will cause even more unneeded balance issues to give items extra power during the season they aren't rare.

I simply given two ways that would give incentive to purchase and keep certain seasonal rares. I would be more for making them cheaper (8% isn't allot by the way) I was thinking more of 30 - 40% off so that people can collect rares and still be able to have fun using them, hence the 4x4 = 16 point bonus for them being used during the holidays (Maybe this can be a core? +1 all stats during XX - XX date) I want to get the Christmas sword (forget name) but then I have to worry about being able to purchase that black abyss whatever sword in time while that's in the shop. I have a expensive dilemma on my hands. Too much comes out at one time that a majority of the players cannot keep up with and it only makes things worse when you're getting 0exp for every fight (being maxed)

@ Mother

For the concern about players who have tens - hundreds of thousands of credits, you can't consider them on this matter as they put in a demonstrably amount of time into the game that nearly every update that isn't varium exclusive they're going to whip up in a instant. Like 50k for a vehicle, really Devs!?

The problem is that there are way to many seasonal events now
so that it became very inflational. When one event is over there already
is another one and often they overlap each other. Around April there
was 5 events going on at the same time: Juloffenblotten, April Fools,
St. Patrickīs Day, Bionic Battalion Saga, Arborgeddon.

I donīt see a reason why seasonal rare items should be discounted.

Simple Thylek, to give incentive to buy them. Seasonal rares don't even have all that impressive cores so many people won't even bother buying them or people who do want to buy them but aren't hardcore players such as myself can only try, and if we're lucky (and not pursuing other items) can barely buy one before the event ends, which is a crying shame. At 34 credits a pop 1v1 and 74 in 2v2 these items are far too expensive to purchase unless you want to abuse a *cough op build* and have a high win rate. I don't see why the only way to purchase these expensive rares that don't even have special properties should be worth our while. Again, the only worthwhile seasonal rares are the swords because unless you have a ton of spare credits to spend on armor + staff/claw/hammer and sword cost a pretty penny. Made that much worse when they're simultaneous sets of seasonals running at the same time.

Edit: And c'mon, if these are old seasonals, at least discount em, keep new seasonal at full price but don't full price very old seasonals like the Christmas ones.

How about instead of a stat bonus, the seasonals give a 5% bonus to credits and XP earned during that season? That could be a nice little perk that wouldn't effect combat but would give incentive to buy and use the seasonal rares.

Another excellent idea, something that would benefit the player during use during its respected time. I love that idea ! 5% of 12 exp isn't much though ;p 50%?

There's a line between seasonal bonus, and greediness. :I It's not meant to be big, especially if you get it "for free", as a bonus for buying these weapons - which other players don't get. Around 10% would be good enough - it may be 1-2 Exp more in 1v1, but it stacks if you play a lot. Even more so for Credits.

Not being greedy at all, it's temporary, even if this was a core that was perm locked on it it can only be used maybe 3 weeks out of the year, of course, using this core means you may have to sit out valuable cores needed to win to the sidelines for awhile. I think its a fair trade.

Let me ask you this Trans, how many old gears that don't have special properties do you see being used? I'd have to wager a very small few, why? Because there's no reason to use them, one reason people wanted so badly for old rares to get a buff, they never got any so they'll never be used again. Giving them such a small buff such as 10% isn't enough to make people want to use these.

Off Topic: http://prntscr.com/2cltjt 1/3 the way to my Frost Reaper armor :D

I thought weapon choice was either about looks or cores (if any). If you want a systematic credit or experience boost you can suggest or support the suggestion by another player. As it stands, a selective action to boost certain weapons is more punishing, especially when few people will buy said weapons if they are sufficient enough to battle with what they have. This should be equally applicable to anyone, but it turns out it only benefits people with extra money or people who already use them.
