1st of all fire bolt scales very very fast for a 1st tire skill .
2nd bludgeon gave them more openess for a very small energy costy attack that when raged can do massive damage .
3rd blocks ? i have been fighting those bloodmages with 20 defense that arent getting blocked not even once , and i have 29 defense witch is like 40-50 more dex with lvl 8 shadow arts , and its been happening a lot i only block people that have 30-31 defense ( with higher dex then me :S )

This belongs in the balance discussion thread. To respond to this however, yes they are still strong, but not as strong as they used to be. They are actually somewhat beatable now.

Sylar, the Str BM are indeed strong but imo not invincible...

If Blocking was reliable, then it wouldn't be that strong really, they they'd only have Gun and Fire Bolt that can't be blocked...

It's true that BMs are more powerful than they should be. Strength BMs in particular seem to be causing a lot of grief. This can be attributed to the fact that three of their best abilities (Fire Bolt, Bludgeon, and Deadly Aim) improve either directly or indirectly with strength.
