I should probably hold off on creating so many threads; maybe this will be the last one for a while. Not sure if anyone remembers that roleplay I tried to host: City of Silversword. I ended up giving it to Sheriff Duncan. I suppose World War Lore was also of the same stock, but it was more large-scale like Isle of Dracos, and I'm not so sure I want to host another one of those at the moment. Anyway, the subject in question is political roleplays, particularly on the small-scale. I'm not seeking to host one anytime soon, but I'd like to discuss one; perhaps someone can host one and we can develop it here. A small-scale political roleplay would be about the citizens and politicians within a single settlement (or perhaps a region). The idea I had was about a group of people who arrive on a new land and it chronicles the founding, development, and legacy of that particular settlement. The question: are we refugees fleeing from war, trying to begin life anew? Are we shipwrecked sailors trying to survive on an island? Or are we colonists sent by our lords to a new land? If you're still confused, the roleplay would be about finding a suitable location, building shelter, finding food, and so on and so forth. Over time we'd need to develop our economy, perhaps even a government, deal with natives and foreigners and that sort of stuff. Combat isn't a priority, but I won't rule it out in case we need to defend ourselves from a threat. And it'll be an 'anything goes' roleplay; in other words, if you think you can achieve - then do it. If you want to try and collaborate with other players to usurp power in the settlement, go ahead. If anyone's interested, let me know and give me some ideas/suggestions. Otherwise, just discuss the idea of political roleplays.
