icemaster 77 -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 20:51:18)

I think the guys don't want to catch up on the lving, they wants the get the weapons and mechs they wanted.Anyways,it to make MQ balanced,it's not to rush to the lv cap.

One thing:A lot of people said over 50% is too much, under 25% is too little.

Vivi -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:13:32)

Does it really make MQ more balanced though? I haven't actually seen any evidence other than "people want it" (which doesn't make it a balance issue) and some comparisons to other games (which also don't make it a balance issue).

In order to make it a balance issue, you're going to need a LOT of numerical evidence and analysis, and you also have to convince us that our fundamental assumptions on how quickly players should level up should be changed. You're not going to accomplish that with a poll of popular opinion or in a single-sentence post.

See post #34.

Balance issue:

The 1 hours per days to level up list:

lv1-3:1 day

lv4-8:5 days

lv9-15:14 days

lv16-30:58 days

lv31-42:73 days

Total days:151 days by my experience and others.

The 1 hours per days to level up list plus 50% exp increase:

lv1-3:45 minutes a day

lv4-8:4 days

lv9-15:11 days

lv16-30:44 days

lv31-42:55 days

Total days:115 days

Want more balance issue.

More to come to replay Vivi answer,it going to take a long time.

stealthwings -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:34:49)

Some random lazy person said so? That is your reasoning?

DF is very easy to level, levels 50-60, I got a level a day, and they called that hard.

icemaster 77 -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:40:21)

No the MQ part. Most of the posters are lazy to explain and are lazy to lv up.They probably play for 10 minutes. Also, you probably played Df for 6-12 hours to lv up from 50-60.

Calogero -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:42:32)

you do know Time isn't a balance issue...

some people play 1 hour a day, some only on release days and so on and so on...
also to add some people use Less effective mechs than someone else

So imo TIME isn't balance :)

not to forget that MQ is only planned till lvl 100 ( according to Blues )
so we dunno if it will go past lvl 100

stealthwings -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:48:42)

More like 2 hours a day. (On the last day, I actually went from 58-60 in one day)

And I was saying that the fact that they called DF hard meant that they were lazy, which made their MQ part mean nothing.

icemaster 77 -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:52:51)

Stealthwings@ Oh I thought you lv up from 50-60 in one day.My bad.

andy123@So how can we make a balance issue about leveling up.It's the only idea I have about time?

stealthwings -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:58:31)

No, just 58-60 in one day (and 2 levels a day for a few others), 50-60 with at least a level a day, 2 levels a day for the some, played 1-2 hours a day. And the person you are basing your argument around calls that hard.

If I had played 6-12 hours in one day, then I could probably go from 50-60 in one day, probably 45-60 if i had the right stuff.

And when you say time, what do you mean? Most people farm while doing other things, so it takes a lot longer than it would if they weren't. You don't realize it, but it takes a huge amount less time to level up if you don't do anything else, and click attack as soon as possible.

seventy two -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:59:06)

@icemaster I got slightly different numbers for the days needed I ended with 129 from 1-42.(86 assuming 50% increase in exp.) Here are my numbers they may be slightly off.

It also only takes aproximately 42 days(remember 1 hour play time) to get to the point where you can complete all story requirements(lvl 25)

There really is no issue with the speed.

Calogero -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 21:59:45)

the Exp is fine... you can only make it ' easier '
there really isn't a balance issue when talking about time...
because every person plays a different amount of time and/or different mech with different weapons

icemaster 77 -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 22:07:28)

Woah, three posts in about 3 minutes.

seventy two:I can't go to the page

stealthwings@I already know and one hour per day while only playing MQ

andy123@Well it's going to be extremely hard to make a balance issue.I don't have time to make one.Could someone make a balance issue about the 50% exp increase.

seventy two -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 22:09:42)

Try again I just fixed the link a minute ago. The difficulty in making a balance issue is that you need numerical evidence to support it something you do not have much of.

Calogero -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 22:09:50)

trust me ;)
50% increase = NEVER gonna happen :)

MQ staff might be generous enough for a 10% increase but only if you can show balance issues ( which I don't see )

icemaster 77 -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 22:12:20)

andy123:Never eh.Well at least a exp increase could happen. You never know.[;)]

seventy two:I still can't go to it.

Calogero -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 22:22:03)

like i posted

10% could happen with luck

50% Never
( 50% + 10% Xboost + 10% reward boost ( happens occasionaly ) = 70% EXP boost, been here long enough to know what has a chance to be accepted and what not )

seventy two -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 22:28:45)

I think it is working(though I thought the same earlier too.)

I would like to see no increase in exp rewards, atleast not until level 50 or so when the sheer amount of time necessary is almost too much.

icemaster 77 -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 22:41:31)

seventy two@ Still can't go to it.

andy123@I also beeen in MQ since the first day of release. The 10% reward boost happens on holidays, you have to wait a long time for that. Not everybody has the 10% x boost.

Maybe we could increase the exp by 25%,but can it make a lot of people realize that MQ is not hard to lv up.

Also seventy two, maybe the exp increase could wait until the level 50 level cap.

neodiabolus -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 23:02:35)

Another thing to keep in mind is that you don't necessarily have to be at the level cap immediately. If you see something at the cap that you really like, you can just buy it ahead of time. There isn't really any reason to be at the level cap at all times, unless you're OCD, in which case you should do the work of grinding hard. In WoW, most players aren't at the level cap, are they? (Ok, maybe they are, but that's a game played by uber-hardcore people who pay a monthly fee for it). Overall, the main problem with most of these arguments is that they assume that people MUST be at the level cap ASAP. In reality, reaching the cap should take lots of time, and most players should not expect to reach it soon after it is raised, unless they devote extreme amounts of time to it. I myself am only level 42, and that is after an entire week of intense (for me, anyways) farming.

icemaster 77 -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 23:07:58)

I still at lv 41.And some people want to buy a weapon, but the weapon series isn't on his lv,so he buys the lowest lv item of the series. But then,he wants to use the item,so he grinds, but he doesn't have much time.People want the increase exp because they want to use their high lv items, not to reach the lv cap!

forumlogin -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 23:14:03)

IMO, boosted EXP isn't for balance; it is, indeed, to appeal to a wider playerbase. :P
So no, I have no numbers. Say what you will.

neodiabolus -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 23:21:06)

I have found that farming Ballyhoo daily along with playing through all the releases keeps me at around 2 milllion - 3 million credits on average, which is more than enough to buy any items or mechas that are extraordinary, even if those items/mechas are at a higher level.

forumlogin -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 23:52:59)

@neo
Not sure how many people I speak for, but I find Ballyhoo farming almost unspeakably boring. :P

And, as I've said before, mecha prices may be intimidating for new players.
After all, it's a jump from 52.5k to 130k in just 1 level.
52.5k is probably 'reasonable' in a player's mind, but 130k+ may be seen as 'extreme'. ;P

All hypothetical, of course. :O
I unfortunately have no concrete data in this regard.

mt -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/28/2010 23:55:24)

i really would appreciatenot having to grind every week i seee a mech i like for money and leveling to get to a mech u bought earlier is a suicide mission within a weekend. really would interest me if instead of drawing new weapons, make some new effects-specials- add more depth in game. finally make items for every level and ask player to pay every level to upgrade- if unable to pay make mech stay at previous level until player gains enough money to scale mech one more level. for example i have a clown mech which i fondly remember- at level 13 im now like 31? 32? and i wish i could pay to have mech scaled to my level.@ the farming again- i realize that the only way it got to level 30-31 was by killing warlic when he had a nubertron- i mean come on killing level 40s with lucky wolblade like a 100+ times got me there. I can onlu imagine how many level 30 would i need to level up as an sc.

forumlogin -> RE: Is MQ Dying II+How Can We Improve It? (9/29/2010 0:17:36)

@mt
Just so you know, I don't support having upgradeable mecha specifically because that means you actually only need 1 mecha to rule them all. :O
Not to mention it's even more work than what else has been suggested. XD
