Ok; I'm lvl 10 now, no BP, never bought poison because I saw all the achievements and have been saving since the beggining, got all the non-bp weapons. I'm just gonna clear up some facts about the game that some of us may be confused or unsure about.
Fact 1: Undead Queen is easy with shield, doable without, and I'd imagine much easier with poison.
Fact 2: All dragon stages attack with similar speed and attacks do equal damage except fire breath.
Fact 3: Each and every enemy here I found easily beatable using shield spell alone; simple combo of attack, block, attack, attack, block, attack, shield, block, attack with an axe makes releatively short work of all enemies.
Fact 4: With balanced fighting you should achieve most achievements simultaneously; keeping a good balance of attacks, blocks and spells, as well as acumulating wealth.
Fact 5: Fastest way to make money, gain experience and wrack up swings/spells/blocks/attacks is by fighting in Muertom Forest in the area with 2 skellies. Easy to kill, and they net you 270 gold and 30 XP each; so 540 gold and 60 XP each time. The minotaurs give you 550 gold and 80-90 XP and the Dragon nets you 770 gold and 100 XP; but these fights take much longer and you are more likely to die. I can finish 3 rounds against the two skellies in the same time it takes me to beat a single dragon stage; so thats 1620 gold and 180 XP as opposed to the Dragon. (the area with 2 skellies is the 3rd last area in Muertom)
Fact 6: Jimmy encounter rate is fixed at 5%, and you encounter as many of them as is normal in the specific area; normally 1, but like on the area with 2 skellies, if you get a Jimmy encounter there you get to fight 2.
Extra tips; if hitting the spacebar makes the screen scroll, just click on the game portal to re-engage the keyboard. Enemies always counterattack if you miss; so block as soon as you see them dodge.
