Personally, I would move Hybrid to tier 2 or 3, it is similar to reroute- everybody uses it, but TMs have to go through bludgeon, which is unused by the majority of mages.

I agree with Lightstdr [again] accept bludgeon even at level 1 wins many fights and is a cheap physical attack that hits hard.

But Jehannum, Bludgeon is a class-specific, so battle mages dont use it.

its not by strikes its by how much damage u would do the enemy had no defense
lets say u have 120 strength
30-36 +32 from ur weapon
thats 62-68 damage if the enemy had 0 defense or resistance
62 X 0.46 = 28.52
68 X 0.46 = 31.28
mathematically u should hit energy drain between 28 and 31 if its rounded down
if u were doing 31 i asume he had high defense/res cutting out about 20-30 damage

They're destroying my Level 32 Tech Mage, and ripping apart my poor Level 27 Bounty Hunter! Can't you people see what's happening?!? They have so many Builds that are overpowered that I can't even come up with a decent counter-Build against them, let alone all three Classes! For Pete's sake, DO SOMETHING!

I want to know: Why are Mercs getting away with all of their overpowered Builds? Why is nothing being done to stop them? Should something be done to stop them? And if so, what should be done to stop them?

i usually start my day with some 1v1 on the arcade, knowing that the first few fights are all gonna be str mercs with maul, berzerker and cyber Shillelagh
so im doing my 1v1 and wow, 3 fights, 3 strength mercs with maul, berzerker and cyber Shillelagh. just nolifing it for as many cheap wins as possible.

Really, I'm thinking about quitting ED unless Mercs are nerfed soon. Why aren't the Devs doing anything?!? Can't they see that Mercs are getting out of control?!? Even Mercs are starting to agree now; the only people who could possibly argue that Mercs aren't overpowered are Mercs who don't care about balance.

Update after Update, and Mercs continue to dominate. "Waaaah, there's no non-Varium St. Patrick's Day Maul!" Boohoo. Varium Mercs got Cyber Sheleighly, so quit complaining or buy Varium. I'm sick and tired of seeing Mercs as is. "More non-Varium Mauls please". Ha! The most powerful non-Varium Class asking to be more powerful? C'mon.

No class in the entire game is supposed to be able to kill you in 2 turns,this without you ever getting a chance to even attack.I pity the people that still use str bounties,it's time to move on ladies and gents,smoke+massacre WAS strong but it's out the door now.I kill off founder str bounties about as easily as i kill lvl27 tech mages,it's almost funny.Don't even talk about tech mages,their chance of beating me is mega slim,and if they don't go first then that chance goes out the door too.

Mercenaries are HEAVILY overpowered,this is the reason i abandoned my original character and i'm now the proud owner of a very unique bounty that uses a special tank build with my own unique variations.I can literally adapt to any situation from EMP enemies to smoke+str,they all perish.

But str mercs CANNOT BE BEATEN UNLESS you block or hit higher than them,which is rarely ever the case.Maul ignores defense and can stun,then you have a ridiculous follow up move that can take out anywhere from 50-100hp+ with enough str.

Then there's tank mercs with gamma bot+bunker and strong aux,once again these have solid defenses and can switch armour types for no cost,need i even venture further than this?

All you mercenaries reading this can know a few things,and trust me you won't like what i say next and you'll feel the reality setting in and then you won't oppose.Do you ever get bored of mindlessly spamming the same old maul...Let's hope for a stun...berzerker oh yay i win!If you can do that for even 1 day then you must be the most boring or bland person.Or what about bunker and aux etc?If you play as a merc currently it's only cause you know that if you chose a REAL class,as in fair then you'd be fighting NPC'S because you can't craft a simple set of strategies,but rather rely on the FEED ME PLZ manual.

Bounties and mages are having the real fun,we actually get to play a game,we aren't stuck on a repeat cycle of ''open my mouth for me,now feed me plz''[:D]

Str merc isn't a skillful build,ONE person was skillful and a field full of sheep decided to follow,same goes for heal loop and for str+smoke.


I find that if i craft my own build in ED then i'm at my happiest,like with my current build.I'm thrashing almost any tech mage and bounty no matter what lvl or gear,i'm giving founders a hard time and if they win it was normally by a crit or they had llike 2-10hp left.I don't mind the mercs,if people want to play a brain dead build where you use 2 moves for an entire session then let them.I'm having a ball with my bounty,they can't say they're having nearly as much fun so i'm fine.

Maybe we shouldn't have nerfed heal looper or smoke BH's in the first place. Balance has become even more majorly skewed. Mercenaries used to be the weakest and now they're at the top.

It's strength and support. It would be best to nerf them but that would cut into the devs $$$$$ Most people pay 2 kill in 2 turns.

Strike=31 means that 8+20+3=31. JEEZ. I don't have 120 strength, I have 34

HAHA you think str merc oped? Bro u got the whole thing mixed... first of all mages are under oped and merc is fine were they are. i understand u lvl 27s cant beat them. and alsobh are oped.their shadow artsmake str mercs a breeze.give me 1 reason why bhs are under oped when their shadow arts make em lucky all the time

EDIT: @Isaiah the mage IKR they think balence is what makes it easier for them to kill

@Above: Lol, I'm guessing you yourself are a Strength Merc. After all, Strength Mercs are the ones who always say, "Ahhhhhh, Shadow Arts is overpowered! Nerf it!" Funny; no one else seems to have a problem with Shadow Arts (anymore), but everyone has problems with Strength Mercs. Coincidence?

@Isaiah: I don't know about you, but I say Hybrid Armor is better than Shadow Arts. It's more reliable, and it sends Smoke Builds down the drain at lower Levels. So if you Mercs can STILL complain about Shadow Arts, why can't we say that Hybrid Armor should be nerfed?

Look, let's just stop here.

Let us resolve this issue. Strength Mercenaries are OP. They can 2-hit people without letting them put up a shield. STR Smoke-Massacre Bounty Hunters at least give you a chance to put up a shield. Tank Mercs, Bot Bot Aux Pistol Heal RageBunkerbuster they win. They are OP too. SUpport mercs: Aux crit multi crit. Don't nerf them, let us find a way AROUND that and find better builds!

Mer is OP, not just STR mer, str mer is just annoying, not so OP compare to other build
just face it, Mer is king of 2vs2, raider of 1vs1, tank freak, stat abuser... what other title can I give it? I'm really tired of them, if ED can balance those thing maybe I can play more, but everytime I get in I have to be mad just because of some freaking random luck or some OP builds I can't beat

And yeah, maybe people will suggest me to change my build or whatever, but I just enjoy to try around with creative build, sucking in an OP kinda make me bored, I pick ED up and play for a while then I have to put it down, so much pressure

its always the same, I look forward to a few hours playing and mercs ruin 1v1 for me, then ruin 2v2.
I love fighting pro tech mages cause it's likely I'll lose, but I can see they are having to think about every move and it becomes
a battle of wits with some luck thrown in to spice it up. against mercs, you need astronomical luck to even make it a contest.
