Just a question first, any AK don't remove it plz, it IS on topic...
Why are some insulting words allowed while others aren't?
( Example would be: Pissed which isn't ' That ' bad is Filtered but Screwed isn't )

Also You've been long enough on the Game to have a certain guess on what Nationalities play the most
Perhaps find a Week ( Or 2 ) to google the insults that are mostly used and filter them.

Eather that or if it's possible, IRC supervision ( 1 admin Per Server would be good I think )

again, dunno if eather is possible but it would help seeing you don't need to be ingame then to see
the Abusive words

I'm really sorry for some immature players swearing and scamming you. But to be honest, I wont leave ED for any reason ( Not unless I get banned =,=" ). But I know why you are leaving and it is a good reason, getting swore by a bunch of 10 year olds? If they we're living right beside my home, I would beat the crap outa them, with no mercy. But I you will come back and how ED will improve through time ;)

Its acting like this that makes people, like Liz, to leave EpicDuel/other MMO-games. Some bunch of kids pretending to be some wise 30+ old men in front of the computer... When they really are a flamming 10 years old kid thats just ruin things...

Sorry for your left spot Liz Vicious, I fought you once and you were really strong, too bad all the good players are quitting :/. I must say it is not only our fault, but theirs too? You will ask why dowe have the fault. I tell you that all have bad days so we don't worry about what we said to others adn we insulted them, that player always will have that sense of vengeance in his heart and try to do what we do to him, it is kind of sad because some players here are kind-hearted. I hope you come back to ED Liz, and it seems you could make some suggestions to put discipline in the game since you're a teacher, Mrs.Liz.

Sure, since this is a forum after all, and I say what I feel, and what I hate as well. And I dont really find anything funny in naming and giving a reason why people reasons why they should'nt get mad. and the insults, What is the point? If we were face to face sure but its in front of a computer. and I was not trying to start a fight, I just hate it when people think they are better then the rest.

The idea of a chat safe server has been presented many a time. I am probably one of EpicDuels most senior players but I would happily use the chat safe server if and when I do decide to return to battle.

I have no idea why so many good suggestions are ignored whilst the bad ideas are implemented.

Sad to see another good loyal player drop out. Hopefully I will run into you again Liz.

Did you guys buy a computer and hook up to the internet immediately going to epicduel and that's all you do? I'm so confused....

This is an ONLINE game where all cultures and backgrounds can get together and speak somewhat freely which is awesome :D
The problem is your expectations of others. The people talking like this are more than likely under the age of 14 and if there older there just bored and trolling.

That's just how it works no matter where you are or where you go. If your gonna rage quit do it on your own time as this thread shouldn't even exist. I guarantee if I wrote this it would have been deleted instantly. In no way did you create a discussion. The other players made this a discussion for you.

If this was truly a problem that warranted action then they should create a canned chat server for those of you living a fairy tale.

Cinderella, there is moderators on this forum, and actual hosting in-game. I had spoken about this with the developers prior. It is not the same type community involvement, and a better system should in installed where players who need assistance can find people to help them.

Educating players in how to respond to difficult behavior and also educating players in understanding how to respectfully manage their own behavior will do very much in our community.

I will be happy to set up some tutorials for different issues when I am able.

She is talking about teaching immature kids manners,which I feel is quite needed lately.But I agree with what you said as well,if somebody actually needed that(and there are many people who do) they are not too young to learn,cause you're never too young to learn how to be polite.They are too immature and inconsiderate and quite honestly,I'd say not interested in being nice.In other words,you cannot teach those who do not wish to learn.

Although at first i thought this was a great idea, after some thought i think otherwise. Many people that come to play online games do not want to take the time to watch some tutorial about how to behave and epicduel would probably lose lots of new player's interests.

The whole problem is that this game was never really targetted for the under 18s.

When I started in early December 2009 it had an 18+ rating. It should have remained that way.

So, this game has turned ugly, eh? Glad I got out when I could. Logged in once to see what was new with Delta, did a few games and when I won or lost, I gave the "good game", to be courteous and was given numerous "fack you", "p!$$ off" and my favorite "zuk cac0k n00dz" (Horrid spelling but it was along those lines, in an attempt to bypass filters). It seems like ever since the hoverbike release and the soon after hacking epidemic (As well as the deforming of three suns), this game has gone downhill and people have quit left and right. Dont blame you Liz. Didnt know you back then or now but, with legendary players quitting, maybe the devs will wake up and do something about all of this.

@Cinderella: Is putting an IP ban in place that hard? Surely it wouldnt take much work IP ban on these people. Follow it up with an IP filter to make the site "time out" when someone tries to get on though an IP masker. I predicted this games death during the last days of Beta (When the devs gave free hoverbikes to Elites and nothing to Founders) and it seems my prediction is being fulfilled. It would seem to be that anyone who cares about their product would try to take care of it and do what they can to protect it but, Ive not seen anything major, which is sad because this game had potential.

Some players/people will do many different things that are deemed negative, hurtful or rude; why are you or anyone else feels that presenting a tutorial in dealing with some of those issues going to be intrusive in anyone's right to think?

Such a bizarre response I must add.

Agree Jzaanu his post was a bizaare response but it most likely represents the response of the nastier players that would bypass viewing a tutorial on how to behave with a bit of dignity.

We do have several swears in different languages filtered, but that's hardcoded so new terms to block take time since Titan needs to put them in.

@Jzaanu- it would be great to have a tutorial on how to be a decent human being in the game. The problem is making sure that the people who need to see it would see it.

@Knight_Hawk- many of our players use school or University computers. Before the merger, we did an IP ban of a college student, who was my classmate. I ended up getting banned because the college network was coming over on our side as the same IP. We do IP bans for illegal actions, not necessarily swearing.

Regarding being always around, I'm on a lot, but you'll notice that even on the forum, moderators punish after the fact. We don't prevent people from making flame posts, we punish and remove after the fact. The problem lies in preventing people from being jerks to one another.

Actualy IP bans are not as easy as you think.

I myself have a SA MP server and have quite the banning myself on it.
Those with Static Ip's wouldn't be a problem, those with Dynamic Ip's on the other hand...

They'd just Bypass the Ban by getting another Ip wether it being in the same range or a completely different range ( and don't forget those dam proxys )

To keep those kind of people banned then would be banning that whole range which in the end
bans other potentional or allready existing players that are in that range area.

and not to be cruel but... some people have a shtload of Ranges
( on me server I've been banning a guy for a whole year and can't be ranged due to having like 15 ranges )
