@everyone

Something that a lot of people seemed to have missed, or have forgotten, about the final etherstorm cut seen is that Desoloth was not fully Chaorrupted. He said that he he was the prime dragon and that he would serve Chaos.... for now. This shows that he is just letting Drakath believe that he is controlling him. He is only bound to Chaos, he is not one with Chaos.

It seems that certain characters in the game are, in a sense, immune to Chaorupption. If we look back at the Chronospan story, Kathool said that he would let Chaos use him...... for now. This is why I said before that certain characters cannot be Chaorrupted. I did not say that they cannot be bound to Chaos, but what I meant was that they cannot be fully controlled by Chaos.

AQW zombies explains certain parts of the normal storyline. This did in fact prove that Gravelyn is the Champion of light.

Alastair Q -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/18/2014 19:39:42)

@Omni Avatar

I did not take issue with the idea that certain beings could show resistance against Chaos - I took issue with the idea that you took an inference of yours and attempted to establish it as truth; specifically this one:
quote:

Finally the Flying Fortress cannot become a Chaos Beast. It is an ancient dragon that is as old as the Avatars and is equal or possibly even surpases Desoloth. It can only be defeated but never killed or Chaorrupted.

Like others have mentioned, what is canon in other games isn't necessarily canon in AQW - to make a claim about which beings are immune to Chaorruption is pure conjecture at this point in time, given that we do not have much material to work from - the only exceptions to this claim of course, being post-Etherstorm Desoloth and Kathool.
(People may want to put spoilers on; not everyone knows that about Gravelyn yet. [;)] )

Though I must note, your idea about immunity to Chaorruption is very interesting - what does this mean in regards to a cure against Chaorruption? Can only beings with immense power retain their faculties against Chaos?

Alchemist Gira -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/18/2014 19:47:31)

hmm more theories but what if Shadowfall rises is a literally term as in shadowfall rises to become the 13th beast.
a whole city as the beast would be pretty cool. but that is unlikely probably another mythological creature but i really would like the dracolich.

and hes already tried to do as he wished didn't end well.

^A dracolich would be rather similar to the 12th Chaos Beast - I'm really hoping that the final Beast is one that will stick in our heads when we look back on the Chaos Saga in the future - one that makes us think "How on Lore could we ever defeat that?". Dracoliches are pretty fun though, if not rather frail. [:)]

Jolan3000 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/18/2014 20:53:56)

And what do you think about the Celestial Dragon Egg to be the 13 Chaos Lord? Thats my main suspect. (My second suspect is Warlic).

don't say that! we'll get a freaking boss thats in a room that has a 1 person room limit & deals 5000 points of damage on auto attack.

Lemonus -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 2:54:48)

^Don't worry, we'll also get some deus ex machina afterwards.

Axel459 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 3:04:29)

These dragon eggs really fell like AQWs version of the white and black dragon box to me.

Omni Avatar -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 3:24:44)

@Alastair Q

I'm sorry if I posted something that was not proven and factual. My theory on the Flying Fortress is attached to my theory of supreme being being immune to Chaorupption.

I believe that certain creatures, that are superior, are indeed immune th Chaorupption due to their power. The AQW team made a mistake of making Kathool a Chaos Beast. All Chaos Beasts were summoned from the Chaos Lord and Kathool did not follow that tradition. At no point in the Chronospan saga did Iadoa summon Kathool. Xing and Xang tried Chaorrupting Kathool but did not fully succeed since Kathool was immune. Instead, Kathool became bound to Chaos like Desoloth did in the etherstorm storyline. Also, all past Chaos Beast's seemed to be weak and show no real strength, therefore it did not make sense to make a mighty creature like Kathool a Chaos Beast.

Since the Flying Fortress Dracolich is the greatest dark dragon, it would seem logical that he would fall into the same category of Chaos immunity like Kathool and Desoloth. That is what I meant before and I apologize for what I said.

Lemonus -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 3:29:37)

Kathool was Chaos before it was mainstream.

No seriously, IIRC he was.

Correction. The Flying Fortress is definitely not immune to Chaos. First of all, how could you prove that the Flying Fortress is supreme? Compare the Flying Fortress to both Kathool and Desoloth. Kathool is an ancient, wise and powerful beast. Desoloth is a powerful Prime Dragon who manages all the four primary elements. Meanwhile, the Flying Fortress is nothing compared to either Kathool or Desoloth.

It can show a sign of threat, but the fortress itself cannot act as the actual threat. Only the inhabitants contained within the fortress such as Sepulchure (before he was killed by Drakath) and his Undead army can act as the threats. Nowadays, the fortress is no longer considered a threat because Sepulchure has since passed away, and Gravelyn is presumed weak by other factions. Because of this, other factions do not see Gravelyn as a threat. And therefore the ShadowScythe no longer imposes a sign of domination among the eyes of other villains. Chaos has stolen the spot as the top threat in Lore.

NOTE: You should watch the Prologue cutscene. After Drakath brutally killed Sepulchure, he proceeded to strike down the Flying Fortress. Imagine what more Drakath could have done if he aimed to entirely destroy the fortress. Much to your awareness, Drakath was able to partially control Desoloth. What makes you think that the Flying Fortress would be anywhere immune to Chaos?

zanathos -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 8:49:09)

It'd be kind of cool if the 13th Beast of Chaos was something we've never fought before, like a mecha

Shadowhunt -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 8:51:43)

Richard Sherman for the 13th Beast of Chaos, anyone? [:D]

Isangman0 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 10:49:24)

Fully agree with the "13th Chaos beast is a mecha" idea, no matter how unlikely it may seem.

As for who the Chaos Lord is going to be, my top pick is still Warlic. Eyes slowly turning purple aside, Warlic is someone who has been with us since the beginning of the game, and is a person that many of us has come to know and love (maybe). His becoming a Chaos Lord will have the most profound impact on every single gamer, something that will be difficult to replicate with any other character with the exception of Gravelyn and Artix.

On a slightly unrelated note, I also fully expect the developers to throw us all a curve ball and bring out someone completely unexpected to be the final Chaos Lord.

Maybe it's Yulgar and/or Aria, they've certainly had experience with Chaos before (Grams).

Alastair Q -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 11:47:56)

@Omni Avatar

I apologize - you were making an inference based on in-game information as the rest of us were - I did not mean to be hostile.
From the December 04, 2012 Design Notes:
quote:

Kathool is the first self-aware Chaos Beast, and there's a good reason it was chosen for that purpose. When a new Chaos Beast is raised - or takes over the position of its own accord, in this case - the Chaos Lord's purpose is fulfilled.* And for a creature as power-hungry and self-assured as Kathool is, the temptation to use Chaos - and the Chaos Lord - for its own ends is too enticing!

The Chaos Beasts are able to be summoned - this is the first time that a Beast has volunteered for the position, but why? What would a creature immune to Time have to gain?

Red Komet -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 16:45:20)

@Alchemist Gira: Except the Giant Dracolich Already has a Mirror Counterpart in Brightfall while the Actual 13th Chaos Beast will look like a Chaos Version of The Order Egg until hatching

Jolan3000 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 17:46:03)

I still cant understand... How Kimberly was cured of the Chaorruption?
Krellenos was cured because Khasaanda took his place to be the Chaos Lord. And Lionfang was cured with the Tears of the Mother.
But ALL the saga of Kimberly has no sense!!! Is the most random Chaos Lord and Chaos Beast!!!

Alastair Q -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 17:51:17)

^Maybe that's the entire point - perhaps she is still Chaorrupted, yet may show no outward symptoms. Or she has overcome it through a prescription of applied phlebotinum. [;)]

ThatHeroGuy -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 18:01:38)

I thought Kimberly herself was inherently chaotic which is why Chaos didn't affect her too much outwardly?

less boredom, its gotta be boring to constantly live throughout the eternity of existence.

well, kimbery's element was chaos long before drakath went on the loose. i'm pretty sure cysero also has a bit of the chaos element in him as well, even if hes unaware of it. in kimberlys case its more like mind control then actual chaorupption.

Omni Avatar -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 21:03:53)

Some Chaos Lords, like Ledgermayne, were so connected to Chaos tat it was like Chaos became what they lived off of. That is why when certain Chaos Lords were defeated they died due to they're extreme connection to Chaos.

Kimberly is still Chaotic but is able to have free will. It is unknown if Lionfang is dead or not since he fell of the Storm Temple but was probably saved by something.

Ghost9900 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 21:30:39)

Richard Sherman? Why hasnt ShadowHunt been banned yet? Like, I am the best. This is a joke. This has to be, Ghost9900 for chaos lord. Yes, I am the best in the game, and its not even close. You are mediocore Shadowhunt, you are very mediocore at best.

spoiler:

Kidding xD

Yes. The Hero has survived from great falls (The beggining from a mountain striked by a lightning, from Tower of Escherion, etc.). And Lionfang falling from his Tower (before he was chaorrupted).
So he must be alive, finding a way to kill the Hero and the Evil.

ShadowMoon -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/19/2014 23:36:40)

well either hes plotting or imprisoned by drakath somewhere.
