Why is Dekanor +50% damage additive? It's 'overcharged', so it should be multiplicative unless this is a balance change that you're doing from now on.
Same goes for the +10% damage for Undead Turkey.

May we get Info Subs for the Paladin Guests? Thank you!

I don't expect to see official infosubs for these at this point, so here's mine :)

Guests from the updated Paladin class skill (Paladin Reinforcements):

quote:

Daimyo:
Light guest. Can either use MP or SP as upkeep, depending on what you've chosen when you summon it with the Paladin Reinforcements skill.
+5 Bth lean.

Does +10% damage on monsters tagged as "undead" or "doom", +6.67% damage on monsters tagged as "demon", and -5% damage on everything else.
Daimyo can be toggled to pay *1.5 upkeep cost. Doing so will make it heal you after each attack.
Normal guests heal you equal to 100*(85/100)*0.9 = 76.5% guest damage. Daimyo will heal you equal to 33.3333*(1+0.5) = ~50% guest damage when toggled.
The healing is not affected by Daimyo's trigger on undead/demon/everything else.

quote:

Manifestation
Light guest. Can either use MP or SP as upkeep, depending on what you've chosen when you summon it with the Paladin Reinforcements skill.

Can be toggled between damage mode and boost mode.
- Damage mode does +100% damage and requires double upkeep. If the guest is set to SP upkeep, the guest will just double its upkeep. However, if the guest is set to MP upkeep, damage mode changes the upkeep to normal SP upkeep + normal MP upkeep.
- Boost mode boosts your Light damage similarly to the Lepre-Chan pet.
It will boost your damage by +((30 + 30 * [CHA]/[expected CHA])*[trigger])%, where [trigger] = 1.1 against Undead, 1.066667 against Demons, and 0.95 against everything else. The boost is also modified by the outleveling formula as usual.
Boost mode has standard guest upkeep.

quote:

Apprentice
Light guest. Can either use MP or SP as upkeep, depending on what you've chosen when you summon it with the Paladin Reinforcements skill.

Can be toggled between damage mode and block mode.
- In damage mode, the guest does +10% damage on Undead, +6.67% damage on Demon, and -5% damage on everything else.
The atack type follows your weapon's attack type, so if you're holding a Melee weapon, the guest will do Melee damage, and similarly with Ranged and Magic.
- In blocking mode, the guest decreases the Bth of all incoming attacks on the player instead of attacking. The Bth penalty is calculated by this formula: (10.8 + 10.8 * [CHA]/[expected CHA])*[trigger], where [trigger] = 1.25 against Undead, 1.1667 against Demon, and 0.875 against everything else. It is also modified by the outleveling formula as usual.

Update to Essence of Carnage:

- Rampant Backlash is now 58.86%, and it properly works through the Backlash status.

- Last iteration, the Defiant MP healing had a x0.6 penalty for following all elements. I've softened this to a x0.9 penalty, but now there's a clawback if you heal more than [1 standard spell's cost] in MP. If you do, you heal [cost]*(Heal/[cost])^0.75 instead.

Thunderbird Joust Egg

MC Energy pet. Click to toggle between:
  • Two Melee hits, -10 BTH lean. MC: +5% damage.
  • One Ranged hit. Deals -84.25% damage and Paralyses your foe for 1*[monster Energy resist] rounds, rounded randomly. The monster can resist with a save at a +20 bonus (inflict with CHA/LUK, resist with END/LUK).

    Scathing Dreamseer

MC Fire pet. MC effect is normally +5% damage, but it also has two modes it toggles between. In its default SP heal mode, if you have >= 50% of your max SP, then it does its attack as normal. If you have < 50% of your max SP, it will trade half pet damage and the 5% MC to cause you to get healed after its attack. Same deal for the MP heal mode toggle; if at >= 50% MP, it attacks as normal, if at < 50% MP, it'll heal you for 55% of a pet attack in exchange for the damage portion doing 50% of normal pet damage.

    Cometoid/Meteoid Jelly

Ice/Energy Pet, no BtH or base/random leans, works similar to the Leech pets. MC effect is +5% damage. The pet deals 20% of its normal damage (AKA 21% of normal pet damage), and then heals your HP, MP, or SP for 4x the damage dealt, with MP getting a x1.5 multiplier, and SP getting a x1.125 multiplier. You can click to toggle the pet between HP (default)/MP/SP modes. You can swap between Cometoid and Meteoid version via the item upgrader function.

    From Kam on Discord:

    Item Update -
    quote:

Cometoid/Meteoid Jelly: Fixed the bug where I forgot to factor out mob elemental resistance on the healing received. AKA before if you were to use the Cometoid Jelly to attack a foe with 125% Ice resist and get your HP healed, you'd just directly get x4 the damage the pet dealt as healing. Now it'll do a quick /1.25 on the healing value before it's applied, so the pet acts as though it's targeting 100% resistance.

This might not be in the correct section to ask, but if I may, there have been multiple changes to Poelala and friends lately. I'd like to know simply how does it work now and the numbers associated with them. Also would like clarification: my Summon Poelala is listed as Lv130, but the current ones in GGB are Lv0 and stated to scale to level?

And also, the difference between Pet and Guest Poelala (and friends) statistically, if any.

    Legion Overfiend Blade

Darkness pet, neutral damage lean. Has two modes, normal mode it just does +5% damage, in "parry" mode it does -19.7% damage. Two hits, Melee Darkness. -5 BTH lean.

If it goes through its attack animation and is in parry mode, then it gets the following effect until the beginning of your turn: When your opponent attacks, it makes a save for each hit:
    Level: PowLvl vs MonsterLvl
    Major: YourCHA vs MonsterDEX
    Minor: YourLUK vs MonsterLUK
If it fails the save, then the hit takes -12 BTH.

Again, the pet has to go through its attack animation while in parry mode. If you have pet attacks switched off or if the pet is Paralysed, then you don't get this effect.

Also, I'm pretty sure that someone is going to ask this, so: the pet does not interact with the Sword Master Emblem in any way.

    Lust - IMR says:

MC Fire pet. Click to toggle between:
  • Pet attacks, one hit, +10 BTH lean. The monster takes +50% Heal Resistance (so healing effects on it are halved) until the start of the pet's next turn. The monster can resist with a save at a +0 bonus (inflict with CHA/LUK, resist with CHA/LUK). This is treated as a Mindlock effect for the purposes of the save.
  • The pet boosts your Lucky Strike rate on Fire attacks by +40%. This boost is similar to Dunamis/Poe/etc boosts -- it's multiplied by (0.5 + [LUK/VStat]/4 + [CHA/VStat]/4) (to a max of *1.1) and by the usual outlevelling formula.

Envy - Earth Clone of the above

  • Kamui -> RE: Pets/Guest - Read the first post! (2/12/2021 19:18:43)

    Baby Eternal Dragon of Time

Light pet, has two modes it toggles between, both inflict status effects. The first mode is Chrono Lock, which basically just attempts to Paralyse the mob, for this the pet pays MC and half pet damage (so total of 22% Melee) for a (37 x MobLightRes x Hits / 2)% chance to attempt a 1 turn Paralyse. The second mode is Chrono Acceleration, which basically is temporarily aging the monster to make them weaker, inflicting a -(43.5 x MobLightRes x Hits / 2)% damage dealt Choke on the foe for 1 turn. Both statii have a 50% save, Paralyse inflicts with your CHA/LUK vs mob's INT/LUK (dispelling the chronomancy before they're frozen), while the Choke inflicts with your CHA/LUK vs mob's END/LUK (ability to endure the rapid aging).

    Bun-Banneret pet/guests

Ranged Wind pet/guests, guests come in call/summon varieties. Toggles between a normal attack mode that deals +5% damage for MC (this attack has a 0.2 base lean and a -10 accuracy lean, since the pet/guest is using a lance, it works like a lance weapon), and a status mode where it applies a 1-turn DefBoost to the player. 140% Melee would mean you lower mob BtH by -85, so with a pet+MC effect it's valued at 42% Melee, so you get (42/140) x 85 = 25.5, so one turn of +25.5 MRM. Similar to the Poelala deals, since this is universal it gets a x0.6 penalty for always useful, so it's now +15.3 MRM. This is adjusted the same way Poelala is as you outlevel it, and you get half the bonus by default, and the other half based on YourCHA/ExpectedCHA (So you get +7.65 MRM by default, and +(7.65 x YourCHA / ExpectedCHA). Guest version gets a simple x1.5 to the MRM boost compared to the pet.

    El Santo Moglin

Melee Light pet, 0.2 base lean and neutral accuracy lean. Has a toggle between a mode where he just does his normal attack for +5% damage, or a mode where he charges up for a turn, and then does an attack for x2.01 damage. When he's in charging mode, if he takes action you get slightly distracted marveling at his showmanship, and thus take -3 to blocking for the turn. This happens both on his charge up turn and his attack turn. Due to the two turns of -3 MRM, this becomes worth 10% Melee, so when doing his attack after charging, it deals a further +12.5% damage.

From the Blarney '21 war: Lepre-Chan guest.

Booster guest. Boosts Light weapon+spell damage.

Only uses CHA for calculating the boost, but as an MC bonus the boost is increased (from +60% to +63%).

(On a completely unrelated note I'm impressed I could use three different synonyms for "boost" in that last sentence! :D)
    Extraordinary Lepre-Chan

As above, but scales. Will be given out for 1000+ wins.

How much damage does the Lust pet sacrifice for the effect on its anti-heal attack?

    Kamui -> RE: Pets/Guest - Read the first post! (5/8/2021 23:48:05)

    Adept/Evolved Protean

Earth/Water and Energy/Light pets, not ele-swap, just separate versions, so 4 items total. Toggles between a normal +5% damage MC and an EleVuln MC. EleVuln mode deals -50% damage (so the total paid is 22% Melee for half pet damage + 5% pet damage MC) and attempts to inflict a 1-turn EleVuln. 22% Melee /1.4 since it affects all attacks on the player's side, x 2 since it has a 50% save, /0.85 since it's adjusting damage of later attacks, so that gives us a total of +36.97% damage for 1 turn. Pet has two hits on the Vuln attack, so it inflicts 1 turn of +(36.97 x Hits / 2)% damage taken EleVuln of the same element as the pet, 50% save, inflict with CHA/LUK vs END/LUK. If using the armour/shield from the same elemental set as the pet, then the pet deals a further +10% damage in damage mode, and the EleVuln is instead 1 turn of +(43.7 x Hits / 2)% damage taken EleVuln.

    Frostwyrm Shaman Totem

Magic Ice pet, toggles between two modes for MC, neutral accuracy and damage leans. By default, it is in Freeze mode, paying MC and 50% of pet damage (so total of 22% Melee) to have a (24.04 x Hits / 2)% chance to attempt a 1-turn Freeze, 50% save, inflict with CHA/LUK vs mob END/LUK. Can toggle to a Backlash mode so that it pays the same (total of 22% Melee) to reflect (22 x 2 / 1.4 = ~31.43)% damage taken as Ice damage, mob can resist with a 50% save, inflict with CHA/LUK vs mob END/LUK.
