Aesthetically, I'd rather be using a gun, but the way that things are done around here means that I don't even have to use a gun if I can just use weapon throw to convert damage to ranged when I have to, and still use melee normally, allowing me to cover more bases without sacrificing on type coverage or amount of damage. It seems a bit unfair to everybody else.

No to the first, yes to the second and third.

Since guns aren't affected by stats, you'll want to have a higher strength. So you would want 15 Strength and 10 Dexterity.

@wierdguy: Also, there's also a difference when you upgrade.
Gunner--> Boomerang
Striker--> Sword

The Horned Hullscuffer Z is fantastic, I love how token items are so powerful at early levels, theoretically the ZToken armor should be the strongest available right now right?

Yes, that's plausible, however, you may want to check all of the armor stats just to make sure.

Well, it's just that.....it feels like they don't even use the weapons that they make.....

This is basically AQ reskinned, so I don't see why we even have these balance issues.

I actually enjoy the boomerang. I'm just confused why it is one hit when it is the Gunner Default Weapon.

Well, all my other weapons hit for a lot more damage than my boomerang.

....

Save for the warped rocket launcher and the water laser gun, water laser gun being single shot and all, and the rocket launcher seems to consistently underperform for some reason.

Yes. After 15 to 20 turns.

Meanwhile, all my other guns trigger their specials a third of the time or so, and don't rely on luck to do their damage.

Yep it is it has the power of close to level 56, likely a few steps lower but it is indeed the strongest, WG's entry is a tad confusing because it gives the complicated formula instead of the level by level. WG does stay useful all game though.

Rev: Boomerangs are amazing but who takes them seriously? Player :"Shadowsythe General stop your assault or I will be forced to destroy you!!" General: " With your boomerang? Ha! If we are going to have an epic toy fight allow me to get my Pogo Stick!"

Rundown of specials:

Triple boomerang strike: deals zeros right now. Won't count it against them until they fix it.
Triple laser shot: actually works. Sort of like a gauntlet blast. Deals about as much damage as I do normally with another gun.
HP Steal: Hits for a pathetic five damage. Heals half as much. If it heals at all, I think it's also glitched or something.
MP Steal: See HP steal.
Warpguardian Dragon: Hits somewhere between 40 to 70 damage (I've gotten hits at both of those levels). It's good, but appears too infrequently to make up for the abysmal normal attack. I can deal this much in two to four turns with a normal weapon.
Warpguardian Dragon Jr: Hits as much as a normal attack from one of my other weapons.
Death: Hardly ever happens. Trumps every attack known to man though. Has a tendency to happen when you don't need it, but who doesn't want it?

My prognosis is that until the normal attack is brought up to speed with my other fancy guns, I'll be using it to play pranks on space monkeys.

i think i will save my tokens for when better stuff comes out as it is all new still i would hate buying something then a month latter a better one comes out

i'm saving my tokens for either the houses when they come out or for inventory slots for rares.
