Hmm doesn't AQW have a system where if you cheat you get the cheater badge and all your badges are taken away? Why cannot ED use that method? It certainly would put a halt on characters trying to get that achievement.

How about ther are two dark stars under the players name. One for cheating. One for scamming. Or two big some type of pictures when u click on them,looks at their stat,look at their character page.

LambO should stop paying attention to others. What devs decide on other players doesn't concern you, nor is it any of your business.

Actually it does concern me & it is my business. I'm paying for this game I intend for it to be cheat/scammer free. If a cheater/scammer are allowed a second chance, I would like to discuss it with the community to find out what they think.

It will always be my business in anything the Dev's do in this game.
If I don't like it I'm gonna post about it, if I like it I'm gonna post about it.
No other person tell me to do so. What does me paying no attention to others have to do with this topic?

Anyway, thanks for the opinion.

If that's the case then a simple reminder that the rules have changed since that player last played would suffice. I'm sure that "got ya" feeling is overwhelming and difficult to resist but the more prudent course is to inform players of the rules then allow them to comply. In any case, its a no harm, no foul situation which many other players have found themselves in through no fault of their own. They, for the most part, were not penalized, they were merely educated.

Althought extremely annoying, cheating and scamming being called 'a crime' by Angels is a little far fetch..

In my opinion, if you get scam, thats your fault. You were probably trying to get free varium, wich IS a scam ifself.

As for dummying, with the new rules like fighting the same caracters 10 times a day max seems to reasonably work. Make it only 5 times a day and the problem will be solve.


Cheaters makes sore losers...

Why should it be cheating ? An alt is just making factions with alot
active players more weak but doesnt give them extra power.

 I don't make the rules :/

And, I was just stating an observation, the cheats who are allowed back into the game are going to be scrutinised by their peers and will need to make sure that they abide by the game rules!

That is the only point I am trying to make and I am looking forward to meeting him in battle again. We had a few :)

Oh what a tangled web we weave when we practice to deceive.

Tough subject this one. I was going to make a post earlier then thought better of it.

I personally don't like cheating of any description.

Sometimes honest mistakes are made due to ignorance. The degree of ignorance varies through to blatant outright lies.

I also know the player that has sparked this discussion and know him as a polite and amiable person.

Goony is right that he will be judged by his peers.

In regards to cheats like the one who basically deleted WM's faction and who was probably responsible for ED Glads deletion I would like to see those people prosecuted.

I am also aware of our ED Defender badges and I must admit I do not like that idea at all. Why reward them?

i like sk1tz's idea, also there should be degree's of banning, eg. 1 month ban for swearing repeatedly, 3 months for dummying/pilotting, 6-12 months/perm for scamming and hacking.

 @Thylek- it's technically giving a person an advantage (especially if they're using the faction mate as a dummy). I don't think I have to detail why.

@Xxbboooxx- I can actually now permanently chat lock persistent swearers.

 With this game, one has to prove their honor. With the player in question, in being respectable within the community, that individual will have to earn it.

In regard to permanent bans, this is up to the upper level staff/developers.

The game now has measures to prevent this type of cheating. In reality, if this never happened, these steps might have not been taken. If this person wouldn't have committed this form of cheating, likely another player could have.

The only aspect I am sadden, is players like myself, at that time, I worked very hard for every victor. If this person wants my respect, that person will have to prove their actions in betterment in the E.D. community.

We shall see...

There should just be a cheater badge. I just really doubt people will try & get it, it makes no sense in getting a cheater badge.
Past, present & future players who will or have cheated, piloting, dummying, scamming etc. They all need a badge.

@Thylek. Back in Beta people used to have alts in there factions & play every character at once to get advantage.
Cause not everyone in a faction can be on at the same time.
Having all you're characters in a faction & playing them all at once is abusing the system & just taking advantage of the situation trying to win.
Which at the end of the day isn't fair to the other players.

The community has to question the Dev's motives, there like the government if we don't keep a close eye on them, there pretty much going to do whatever the heck that they want like unban famous cheaters, and make more garbage like fame.

Well, you can keep a close eye on them whenever you want, but in the end they will make the decisions. Most of us have broken rules and all have got our punishments. The worse the "crime" is, the harder is the punishment.

NO one ever gets perma banned, some guy (name will not be exposed for privacy) got reported around 50 times for swearing and was "claimed" to be perma banned but after 1 week u see him walking around like nothing happened

And secondly I reported so much people for swearing. Btw i used the the littl button that says report. I click. I select a option. I click okay. I tell him i reported him. He said swear swear swaer i dont care report does nothing. So then i say okay hoping that i struck some fear in him so he wont swear anymore. I leave the area and i encourter some wanta be ganster singin some songs that are nasty and have words that i recommand not saying. I tell them to please refrain from using such language. HE tells he to shut up and some other words that are swearing. I report one of them. and i cant report the second guy cause it said Do not abuse the report button.


Ways to improve that little migiger thingy. Make it so people do care, Make it so you can rpeort more people.

How about on you're char page you have this:

Recent Offensives: None/abusive/Dummying/Piloting/Hacking.. Etc..
Status: Never Banned/Banned/Unbanned.

This would be better than a achievement & I doubt people who go out of there way to change there status to banned. xD

 @above- the problem with that is, if it was public some of them would say "compromised account, please return to its rightful owner" and those people would be easy targets for scammers.

True Cinderella. I'm just trying to think of a way so people know these people are cheaters/scammers.
Even with a second chance, they still shouldn't get away from what they've done, you know. =)

Since they are banned why do we need to talk about them? .... I do miss my old friends that are banned....
My mistake account "Skitszo a.k.a Sir Zachary".... has been banned once ...Its also compromised...Since i got accused of something i didn't do...

I don't want hackers/scammers to have a 2nd chance...I got scammed alot and hacked...I'm tired of people whos askes for your account info.

Because they have a second chance.
They need some sort of badge or anything to let everyone know this person has cheated in the past or scammed.
People need to know to keep a close eye on this person or the person who is a scammer, who might try & scam again or cheat.

Not everybody knows people who has done something bad, so they might try & get away with anything cause some people are new.
