January 10th, 2012.

As of yet, the latest feature instalment to ED is the Frysteland War. This event was conspiratorially devised within the game staff alone. {I don't think I have to state the roles of the programmers and designers for your needs} For the war, Cinderella mentioned being responsible for the story-plot but I am assuming that team balance would be responsible for playability of the event, while people like Titan and Nightwraith rooted out a base for this specific system.

The Frysteland War was in no exceptional way involved with us the player-base augmenting how the event would be played through.

In your own thoughts, how and why should we players be contributing to additions of ED in features and events?

This will be a discussion.

--

For me, I would have to say that the players are a recommended source of creativity for future gaming events simply because of how broad this community really is... and having our vast experience of the game so that we can be trusted with balance. If and when a new in-game event occurs, we the players should be taking in stride, responsibility for at least 10% of the content that will be released. I understand that the programmers are a very close group who can handle problems themselves, but its when someone does not anticipate an problem, like when the anti-matter bombs could be used at will to gain points only influenced by financial expense. Well, if the programmers will trust the players to contribute thoughtful pieces, I'm sure we could forge an event everyone will enjoy. Thanks for your time.

I Know Right?

How Dare They Not Personally Get My Approval Before Releasing Something.

Or At Least Let Me Edit Their Concept To Improve On It Before It Goes Live.

Because I Am Way More In Touch With The Game Itself And What The ED Communtiy Wants Than The Staff And It's Testers.

Clearly My Ideas Would Be Best. Anyone Who Is A Forum Regular Knows This As Fact.

When they said the word varium bombs I already knew the war was going to be stacked with the side paying more winning. It was obvious that they should have put up an hourly cap of planiting super bombs so that the feature would not wreck a side as much as it already has.

WOW

I Have To Admit... That's A WONDERFUL Idea Actually.

Imagine A Super Bomb Hourly Limit... Like NPCs. Only 15 Per Hour.

This Would Reduce Abusing The System. Give Non-Varium Players A Better Chance. And Also Prevent The Honorless Thieves From Spamming Bombs In The Last Hour To Win.

Solves Alot Of The Problems Many Have Complained About, While Still Keeping The Feature As A Varium Service As Well.

The Result: Better Chance For All, Happier Players, Staff Still Makes Good Money, And The Fryste Bombs Usage Is "Balanced" A Bit.

Great Idea!

Got no roll on it.
By occasion, i just thought adding varium bombs was rather useless, for us that is. Where is fun in that anyway? Spending hours fighting a npc over and over is way more fun and i didn't even like npc'ing.

To add to edward's and Buffy's posts: Having bombs not count towards the actual War Points limit (for the cheevo only for being 1st) would be good. Bombs would still be counted in, but for cheevo - it's all about how much battles you've done.

Devs made a huge mistake, they should have ask greenrain13's opinion before the update.

Im waiting an apology from developers.

We cant participate the planning part thats the difference between developer and player but we can discuss ideas to make things better. So if you have any idea that you think it will be helpfull for future Wars than write it in here so Devs/Mods can see and maybe implement it on the future wars.

There are a few players who should NOT be allowed to make suggestions towards game features and balance (I won't name names.) But yes, in general, players should be listened to and consulted on before major releases such as the Frysteland war.

How difficult would it be for, say, Cinderella (Who has only about an hour of important game-related work assigned to her on a daily basis) compile a list of features and releases to me made in the near future, then have players express their opinions on then in short, single posts?

Yeah it would be cool if we ran the game, but then there would be no surprises.

Plus, the forum community represents a tiny fraction of the actual epicduel community.

If the large population of the game ran the game it would be a disaster, just saying.

rej we try protesting against about discussing suggestion but here only few of us did it most of them coward out. This why the players who actually play game daily should be have right to come up with ideas. We are reason why ED getting money so shouldn't we have right to come with ideas? instead of fearing are posts will be delete.

See...?

Again... Most Of You Guys (Forum People)... Get Carried Away.

This Is The Reason They Don't Take The Majority Of "US" Seriously.

This Thread Is About The Need For The Staff And Designers To Be More Open To Listening To Player Suggestions And Using Player Ideas In Game.

NOT About The Players "Running" The Game. *facepalm*

Egos Are Getting Out Of Control.

Speaking Of Which...

---

I Made A Joke Above. About Them Listening To Me Personally. I'm Just Kidding.

Just Because I Have One Of The Best In Game Win%, And Not 1 But 2 All Time Legendary Leaderboard Factions (World Domination, Flag Capture, Faction Solo, Faction Team).

~ The Girls Of Buffy And The Legion Of Buffy ~

AND, Just Happen To Be On The All Time Fame, Inventory And War Kills Leaderboards... Showcasing The Fact That I Am One Of The Game's Top Customers And Most Beloved Players By Far...

Yet, I Get No Special Treatment Whatsoever. Nor Do My Ideas.

So, Why Should Any Of You Be Any Different?

The Staff Knows What They Are Doing. We All Have To Understand That They Do Their Best For Us To Enjoy The Game.

I On The Other Hand, Have Entered Battle Forgetting To Equip My Gun. Shows You How Sharp I Am.

I'm Surprised I Can Figure Out How To Plant A Bomb On A Reactor Core At Times. Seems Complicated To Me.

*Where Does This Go? It Does What Now? Huh? I Don't Want To Blow Up Any Baby Yetis. Stop Eyeballing My Gems*

Clearly... I Have No Clue As To What I'm Doing Or Why I'm Here.

But Luckily, The Staff Does!

We Can Only Hope That They Are Open Minded To The Possibilties Of Their Players Having Intelligent And Creative Ideas That Might Just Help Overall Gameplay.

And Actually Not Be Prideful To The Point That They Won't Listen And Use Some Of Them In The Future.

Editors Note: My Above Posts Are Dripping With Both Sarcasm And Humor. I Hope Those Who Know Me Or Appreciate Such Things... ENJOY!

All Comments Are Done Playfully And With Respect. Both The ED Staff And ED Community Are Wonderful And Full Of Really Smart People Who Only Want The Best For The Game And Themselves.

So My 'ON TOPIC' Point Is: We All Have The Same Thing In Common, The Love Of EpicDuel And Seeing It Be The Best It Can Be For Everyone.

This is just turning to a point when everyone would want their ideas in-game :

I can say names but I'll save my opinion.
The greed in ideas may come really fast from players, some features which also aren't needed, some days ago, I suggested to the Mods on forums to show some kind of thread to the AQW mods, asking them to make a ICHAM( I can has a mod) in every AE Game, Didn't receive any reply yet from them but I would be pleased that they did it.

^For some reason, i find it hilarious that you of all people said that there are "egos getting out of control." Especially when you followed it up with two solid paragraphs of bragging.

My Dark Humor Seems Lost On The Majority, Sadly.

Bragging...? I Spent A Few Lines Stating Leaderboard Facts (Stats) And Few Lines Saying I Don't Know What I'm Doing, Can Barely Equip Myself Properly...

I Sometimes Wear Level 12 Armor Simply Becuase It Makes Me Feel Sexy. I'm Surprised My Parents Let Me Out Of The House Without A Helmet On.

Please Don't Read Between The Lines And Assume That I'm Implying That I'm Better Than All Of You And My Ideas Would Be Pure Gold.

I Didn't Say That. Don't Put Words In My Mouth Please.

@Buffy Sadly it's called the first impression and once someone thinks something of you, it's hard for them to change their idea of who you are. Even harder still when you wait for a longer period of time to change your behavior. Only thing you can do is keep persistant with your changed behavior until people get used to it and see that as the first impression instead. People are used to you bragging all the time about being good and having great factions and win ratio and only now do you change your attitude towards yourself and your achievements. Don't expect everyone to change their feelings at the drop of a hat.

Also, they listen to us and that should be enough. I wouldn't mind if they delayed a release by a few extra days so they can post the DNs up with videos of the new content so we can better judge it and give feedback for last minute adjustments we feel should be made.

^ Yeah info at all about a release so that we can post info such as, oh hey missions for both alignments....that is sure to create problems....

@Rej,

Hey fight fire with fire. Just say With all do respect before a derogatory remark and you can get away with it like talking about peoples egos, following that up with self-glorification over things that require no skill whatsoever, and adding at the end that it's all meant to be fun and were all here having a great time joking around :D

@Off topic: Don't waste this thread with that "childish joking".

@On topic: The ability to be part for discussing some kind of feature would really help, that way we could make it fair for nonvariums and variums, but we must remember some perks should always stay only for variums ( just like in AQW, members got their perks apart from nonmembers). The communication between players and Devs isn't great, we all know Cinderella try their best to keep us informed, but not always the info is available to her.

@buffy: you failed at the "faceplam" lol

EDIT: The off topic comment is a joke, not serious.
