Takeover Applications Open!


      Physical attacks automatically break guards
      Can endure high amounts of damage without flinching
      Can use mind power to temporarily empower and enforce yourself and allies
      Physical attacks automatically chain into each other
      Can produce light speed shockwaves from physical attacks
      Aerial attacks have increased potency
      Can boost allies' attack, magic, defense and resistance
      Stamina recovers faster, even while taking damage
      Can get insight on tough opponents
      Has an unlimited supply of explosives and magic grenades which can be affixed to weapons
      Can run much faster than normal
      Can disappear by manipulating shadows
    Attack Magic
      Can shoot trailing fireballs, lightning chains and razor winds, which home into targets
      Can create violent eruptions, lightning strikes and tornadoes
      Can use mental power to absorb health from enemies
    Protection Magic
      Can create glaciers, tsunamis or rock falls
      Can create moving walls of ice, water or earth
      Can use mind power to continuously sap enemy strength and magic power
    Healing Magic
      Can heal wounds and restore life
      Can generate light shields and blockades
      Recovers mind power faster and can donate mind power to allies

For the sake of gameplay, melee weapons are indestructible and projectile weapons have unlimited ammunition. MP is limited, but recovers fairly quickly out of battle.

Discovered Band Attacks
Regal Lions: Nicolas, Jonathan: Nicolas and Jonathan slash all enemies at light speed, then activate a light mist that heals all allies
Inherited Power: Maro, Zing: Maro and Zing shoot random elementally charged whirlwinds through enemies
Salvation: Kosefira, Deep: Kosefira and Deep release explosive shockwaves through all enemies
Ultrasonic Wave: Zing, Marcus: Marcus fires sound waves at enemies, then Zing amplifies the sound waves and creates explosions
Sun and Rain: Hoshikruo, Yoshia: Yoshia sketches energy spheres in front, then Hoshikuro smashes them to send energy waves at the enemy
Fusewire: Burr-Burr-Chan, Ocell: Burr-Burr-Chan latches onto an enemy with Magic Chain, then Ocell ignites it, engulfing the target in flames
Quartet Blow: Vigor, Speed, Hawkeye, Saboteur: Attacks in all different ways to produce a powerful combination
Double Edged Sword: Attack, Protection, Healing Magic: Calls down a myriad of elemental magic to strike all foes, then heals all allies
Deathbringer: Any two Renegade Forsakens: Both release darkness through themselves to unleash a laser
Thermo Volt: Arthur, Finn: Arthur charges his spear with lightning and Finn charges his lance with fire, then both charge at a single enemy
Energy Arrows: Attack Mage, Bow or Crossbow user: Fire elementally charged arrows at a single target
Almighty Cross: Any two sword users: Pierce an enemy guard and leave them staggered for some time
Puppeteer's Strings: Isabelle, Rick: Isabelle binds all enemies in place, then Rick cuts the magic strings, dealing massive damage
Blue Bolts: Cecilia, Vincent: Vincent summons a dark thundercloud that Cecilia shoots with several arrows, creating lightning bolts each time
Crossfire: Keiichi, Hitora: Keiichi and Hitora unleash a barrage of bullets on enemies
Kelvinian Trinity: Marthan, Calvin, Dansil: Dansil, Marthan and Calvin unleash a slew of slash attacks on enemies
Divine Wind: Maro, Kosefira: Kosefira and Maro produce a powerful healing wind to heal and protect allies
Fimbulvinter: Arcturi, Greldik, Loki: Combine various cold magics to create a world-threatening blizzard.
Plasma Collider: Kutar, Ken: Unleash a blast of electrified neutrons on all enemies.

With fewer and fewer people posting Dissidia updates, I would like to know if I could make any improvements to the game

Instead of "Dissodia: The Fighting Game: The Forum Game" make it "Dissodia: The Forum Game." If I wanted to play Dissodia then I would buy the game. Forum games shouldn't be held back by the game mechanics that the game it's based on has just because. It ruins the immersion.

It would also help if it wasn't all combat all the time.

Well, one of my problems (more of a question) you already solved as there is only thirteen cycles in Dissida while here there is at least sixteen. I have been pretty lazy and distracted lately, so sorry about that. Oh yeah, I agree with HN. As well some actual influence on the story would be nice than just beating someone up who should be dead when next update is "You barely managed to defeat your enemy who proceeds to cast Meteor on the city." Not sure about the cycle system in the game or lack of memory, but I would prefer if we could actually make our characters' backstories more than basic stuff. Unless of course we're like the Warrior of Light, then that would be fake memories.

The concept of Dissidia was 100% combat, but if that's not working I can introduce exploration and choice options. Fighting multiple enemies at once will require a complete reworking of the skill system (and that's been a massive pain already)

I guess I could implement skill changes using the yet-to-be-introduced AP system

Fleshing out character back stories would clash with the idea of this game. Some of the original character back stories I've seen would break the game. Oh, and I've planned 100 cycles

My reason for keeping the battles specifically one on one (plus assists) is because it would resemble the Wrath battle style and I wanted this to be a different game.

May I ask how Wrath is going, in particular Nevest, Neo & Talos' adventures? Apologies for the various times I dropped out unexpectedly, I have been going through some RL stresses that almost drove me literally insane (seriously).

It's alright. I hope you're feeling better.

I added a surname, but feel free to remove or change it.

After the battle with Dalawa and Vurello, Nevest and Neo left the Alliance to pursie Czylton's forces personally. According to Auris, Czylton plans to rewrite the laws of the natural universe by using a symbol in an unnatural universe, causing widespread havoc and dischord. Before they left Auris' group, Auris enhanced Nevest's Nightspitters with extra power ("Not all darkness is evil. I trust your judgement, Master Vitios") so the bullets now automatically home in on enemies affected by the Shadow Baselard's fearstrike ability.

Neo was searching for Talos, but when he found him Dahlia had tried to control him again. Talos was able to hold onto his sentience, but Dahlia used his essence to create a small army of replicas. Their battle is still raging.

Nevest has taken down tremendous numbers of shadow soldiers on his own while searching for where to go next. He is now caught in some sort of illusionary maze. Wraxthos and Itnas tried to stop you going in and join you, but you dismissed them for their former betrayal. Now, as he wanders across the same familiar passage for the 18th time, he can't help but think there was some merit in their warning. Especially when he has taken out a fair few images of himself within the twisted halls.

Regarding Wrath Providences, is it possible to use more than one Providence at a time? I don't mean in one post but in one action, like shooting Armor Piercer boosted Mercury Arrows, and for that matter would using Intense Fire Charge on a bow then using it to shoot Mercury Arrows or Armor Piercer cause the Arrows to do more damage due to the fire enhancement?

I feel much better than before, thank you. And I'm fine with the surname, it feels more Wrath-y. Names in general are difficult for me to settle on, so the fact you gave him a surname accomplished more than I could.

I appreciate the summary, though the last part worries me Nevest will forever be lost in a maze... I hate mazes. :P

Bastone: You can, but you will exhaust your mental power rapidly.

Nevest: Once you kill a few doppelgangers, you'll rejoin the main story. If you want to.

kut: Take your time, I save updates and have a new method of keeping absent players in the game in Dissidia. Reality Splits ensure that all players can finish their respective cycles even if someone has already witnessed its end. Once you defeat Xan, you will continue in Cycle 001.

Superemo: Dude, you're fighting a reality bending deity who can summon people from other places out of nowhere while fighting large masses of crystal that move on their own. I don't think logic was even invited to this event.
In all seriousness, the way your lightning works is it has a short charge, then creates a bolt of lightning up to a certain length. Chaspel was hurtling himself at you, so he was able to move out of range of the bolt.

I realize it's a game with characters that have logic-defying, potentially reality-destroying powers.
Samuel was still trying to apply logic to the situation. In-character thoughts are in italics.
