Hi my name is Chop Suey. I have been beta supporter since then and Me and Raph were used to be mercs and we are not thrilled about 2vs2 most of the time because I've been seeing levels between 25-30 winning over 200 wins to get 2vs2 champ cheevo for the day and I think its some kinda of conspiracy lol *_*.Where are the lev 34's winning in 2vs2?(its not happening).Also I really dont see mercs too often winning over over 2vs2 if you compare it too tech mages and bounty hunters since they they have a better win rate recently over weeks or even months. whether you agree or not I just need your opinion on this. (If you a were a merc how would you feel about this?) I'm so scared LOL.

I used to be a merc, then wound up tacmerc till it got nerfed and am now a cyberhunter. I know what you mean. Mercs haven't really been too good since the evolved classes came out. My secondary character is now a tacmerc. I seriously considered changing to merc, but decided to wait and see if they ever get buffed back to their former glory.

Look towards players 2vs2 builds and you will find the answer to the question you seek.

 So low levels that most often fight lower levels and not very often higher levels unless accompanied by a higher level winning a Daily 2vs2 somehow dictates the balance situation of mercs? The answer here is that few people use merc nowadays and would rather use something OPd and mindless rather than something more challenging than merc. From what I've seen in battles, they do quite well in 1vs1 though. Most people prefer to be more defensive in 2vs2 nowadays though it seems to me and since TLM have Reroute to spend on heals and, in turn Blood Shield, they are a better choice than the average merc build for what types of builds are preferred in 2vs2 nowadays.

Role of mercs today for me is to surprise people and be in the leaderboards even in such a low lvl, as long as you have good bunker buster/hybrid armor... you own the lower lvls. They're pretty much just a jumpstarter in the game now to get as much wins/creds as possible during low lvls and then switch for better classes. dat sad story

i am a lvl 34 merc with a varium armor.and the reason i barely play is because merc got down...at this level without a robot merc can't do nothing with malf or smoke screen..support build doesnt work.. strenght build got countered with tank and defeated with malf... the change in hibridd changed all the way build were and adrenaline with the suport build can't always be used... Mercs used to be great.. They were in some times the best.. Tactical Merc Detronated Them... cyber Hunter Dentronated Tactical Merc And They Seem To Rule for some Time...Allthrought We Don't Fear Death..We Embrace It... Mercs Doesnt Have A Role And Doesnt Make A Diference No More...If In A Battle My Partner Told Me "Dam You're A Merc... I Wanna A Cyber." I Said " So?" he said " We're gonna lose"...Pretty Sad For What Ballance This Game Had... And Yes I Played From Beta On Other Accounts.. All Were Noobs Until In Gamma I Decided To Do This One

 I always cringe when I hear that people changed from Merc to a different class (especially Cyber or BM) because it was too hard to get wins as a Merc. Yes, it is harder to get a good win % as a Merc, but there is way more strategy required to be a Merc than a CH or a BM---and therefore it's a class that by definition is more fun to play (unless all you care about is wins and not strategy).

Stay the course; don't give in to the path of least resistance. Blood Mages and Cyber Hunters really don't add anything to this game as far as creativity. They're just simple classes designed for easy wins. Inherently, Mercs are a far more intelligent class.

Again, don't take the bait and class hop. Otherwise, you're just like all the other zombies.

Mercenary is an extremely fun class to use, as it takes strategy to win anyone.. even lower levels. It is not like the "routine" any OP build has, but rather needs a bit of thinking before each turn.

The Reason lower levels get more wins is because their Battles only last 3-5 Turns and there is always the "No Heals" thing...With higher levels, you realize that healing is possibly the best way to turn a battle in your favor and that higher levels have higher defence resulting the longer battles

role of mercs in my view is fast kills but everyone's a little tanky in high lvl and if bunker doesn't do the expected output then you're going downhill >.< no mana = no chance for win :(

 low level its easy, most low level 2v2 players have bad builds so thats how they do it. also merc is really strong at low level...

Mercs are really good actually. Contrary to what most believe, a good merc can wipe out a Cyber Hunter or Blood Mage.


And I also agree that Mercs are EXTREMELY strong at lower levels. Try having a creative build on there (my strength tech mage) while facing a Merc with LITTLE technology and only maxed on Bunker Buster. Guess who is gonna win? The merc lol. It's that darned CRIT that wipes us out.


They are extremely well players. HOWEVER, contrary to what Frog Bones and a few others have said, class changing really is pretty fun. If you have been one class for all your time on ED, it will get boring. So changing into a Cyber or Blood Mage may seem the best path, because they HAVE unique builds, it's just their OP skills at the moment, like Cybers PA or BM's Berzerker. You could always have a different build though.


As an ending note, mercenaries are not UP or OP. They are...perfect. They just need a small tweak and they will be as awesome as they were before. :)

In 2v2, I have a level 27 merc, nonvarium, with about 26-30 resistance and defense total and 20-24 support. Can dominate everyone but level 30+ TacMerc Tanks.
