you just have to draw it in there I guess, there is really no other way, try using the smudge tool or something

okay Vader I need hel rednering. I went to the site that you you sent me to before to render:

http://www.clantemplates.com/renders/gallery/categories.php?cat_id=47

I'm doing good and I have a pretty good background, but I can't erase the white. Any tips how to do this?

Here is my post in your Need help with Gimp thread:
quote:

You did well for your first sig.

Ways to Improve:

>Text: using default fonts is good, but you'll need to do better. The text shouldn't be the main part of the sig, off in the corners is fine, or make it interact with the render somehow.

>Renders: Going around the entire way with the eraser is a big job, it is much simpler to just find a render like the one you used with a white background and click the white with the magic wand tool and cut it (Ctrl+X) Also, your render should be larger and more important, many times it is the focal point of the sig. Making the entire render visible is not important, just show enough of it, in that case you should just show the upper body.

>Background: Definately good for a first, but you should read a few tuts on how to make some good bgs, yours is monotone and a little bit boring (no offense, just constructive criticism) After reading tutorials and understanding the effects of blending options and how things work, you will be making some fresh, cool looking bgs.

>Border: add a border by going to Script Fu>Decor>Add Border, easy enough

Just a little bit of constructive criticism on the crucial points of a sig, hope this helped.
if you have more questions, ask in my tuts or pm me:

Read the part about Renders for that bit of info,
Read the whole thing. if it isn't helping than let me know

hey vader do you put your render first in your sigs or do you make the bg first and then put the render?

I used to make the bg first back when I had gimp, but now I do both, sometimes I build the sig around the render, sometimes I don't

It is not helping man. I clicked on the wand, but when I click on the white region it selects the whole imgae. Am I supposed to anchor the back ground or something? Also How do I resize images?

If the wand isn't working, then it isn't a good render, so I suggest that you find a different render :/

As for resizing images, use the scale tool. look through all of your tools, you will find it, it's blue

Alright, got the resizing down pat. Now when ever I paste my Render it turns into the color of my background. KNow what I'm doing wrong?

You can't paste an image with a transparent bg in Gimp, so just make your ncakground color something like bright green that is not found on the image
