So I've had a quick scan through, just to make sure this question wasn't asked, but I'm sorry if it has already. That's appreciated ^^ First off, congrats, I guess. It's a bit odd that we congratulate people when they achieve a position which is consistently stated as deserving no more recognition or praise than any other forumite. We're all the same, except some are a bit...more same...than others? You get my drift. ;) Teeheeheehee~ Animal Farm..... I mean, thanks....? Anyway, now to my question. Yep, just one. Is it? Is it really? Obviously, the OOC is a unique place. And what's very interesting is that it has changed almost more than any other place on the whole forum board. Even more so than the L&L, which has changed a lot. The changes are different though. Where the L&L changes were more structural and proved to create better organisation, the changes in the OOC changed what was discussed, how it was discussed, etc. Aye it did. Now, I don't know if you were in the OOC see during this particular time or not, but I remember it was a much busier place. This had its pros and cons. There was a lot more spam, and there was more aggressiveness (two names come to mind: Red Floyd and Onomatopoeia). I will not refer nor respond to names, but I seem to recognize the OOC to which you're referring to. Anyway, to my point. Since those changes the OOC has quieted down a lot, so much to the point where there really isn't too much going on in here at all. The main focus is in the Entertainment Forum section, and even there, it's only about four or five threads that regularly have conversation. Conversation is a bit more organized and streamlined. Now those who would have typically only commented on entertainment oriented threads have a place to look for the threads they'd lean to. So my question is, will there be anything that you hope to do to change this? That is, to make the OOC a more active and vibrant place, like it once was, but without the hostile atmosphere of the days of RF and Ono? Or do you see the way the OOC is now, the way it should be, and not attempt any sort of overhaul/reconstruction/major change? Honestly, more activity is always a good thing, so long as it's kept in check and respectful. While the tendency exists for a place to become more lively with fewer restrictions, the inverse isn't the only way to increase activity. Going back to it, OOC activity would likely be generated through the combination of members willing to post and current events that we can talk about. Once we have a fine combination, then it has to be filtered through moderation. As it were, my job as an AK is to moderate and therefore filter content. Though viewing from the perspective of the bigger picture of the forums, it's my place as a forum member to find material to comment on and post about and do just that. Now, to answer your question, I'd like to do my part as a forum member to increase activity in the OOC, and also do my part as an AK to make sure that what activity we have is civil, respectful and productive. EDIT: Just realised I'm kind of super late in posting this. Hopefully it's not too late though. No, it's quite alright. I will likely be locking this thread soon, though.
