This was posted in "Why Things Look Different", and Bballman23 gave a very nice response. However, I still think it should be implemented :P quote:
ORIGINAL: zeke50100 I think Intro would be better seen if it were actually up closer to the top; I remember not even scrolling down past half-way to see the OOC. I just personally think that it would be a better welcome to new members if they open the page and BAM! oh, there's a group of people waiting to welcome me! It would just seem more noticable than some topic in the OOC (which actually takes time to find), IMO. quote:
ORIGINAL: Bballman23 In answer to your concern, zeke (which is a legitimate one), that is probably already be taken care of, or at least can be pretty easily. It's been a while since I made my account, but I believe that all new members are sent a PM with a link to all the rules, etc. The staff can (and might now) simply include a note about checking out the OOC and the Intro Thread in there. Reading over those last three sentences, I realize they're terribly worded and confusing, but it's late. Hopefully they make sense. XD Even if this CAN be remedied with a simple link in a welcome PM, I still think it would be beneficial to add the actual thread/section up at the top. It's a layout followed by many forums, and it's pretty effective. Not only would it benefit the newbies, but "veterans" could also find the intro thread/section to welcome them in (granted, older members would know where the OOC is, but you can never be sure) ~Zeke~
