If you take a look at this page, you'll notice that the Advanced RPers Group is open for applications, and that a person can join the ARP group. Now, how I remember -- becoming an ARPer is Invite-Only, and the RP AK's and Tutors can recommend a person for... I don't know how to say it -- promotion is the first word which fell on my mind.

Here's a quote from the Addition Rules Information/Clarification thread:

quote:

Promotions to the RP from the RPA boards will be at the discretion of the RP Staff and RP Tutors. To be considered, you must post in the RP Forum Application Thread on the RPA Forum, and then somebody from the RP Staff or RP Tutors will look into your posting history. Promotions to ARP will be handled by the RP AK's, but there is no application for them. Just play as you always do, and when you reach that skill level, you will be noticed.

RP - Role Playing
RPA - Role Playing Academy
ARP - Advanced Role Players

Thus, I just wanted to ask -- is this a bug or was this function placed purposely? If so, is there any particular reason?

Just wondering. :)

I can't answer you question, as I'm confused, too (I think...), but I have something else to help you:
Try PMing Kellehendros to get a straight, forward, and accurate, answer :)

Legendary AK!!!

If it is invite-only, then I would assume that it is either unintentional, or works similarly to the approval system of The Gallery: there is a Join button next to the Approved Artists column, but you must still apply in the application thread - and if accepted, you hit the button and a notification is sent to the Moderator with the power to approve the member to the group.

Edit: I was meaning that if you were invited to join, you'd click the button and be approved into the group. It might well be a bug though, as you say. :)

^That's just it. There is no application thread for becoming an Advanced RPer, as it's Invite-Only.

It's probably a bug, but I'll still PM Kell. I'll just let a few days pass, because the Elemental Championships Arenas aren't finished yet.

Thank you, Valo and pjc. Requesting a lock now. :)

A late lock this is, but a lock nonetheless.
