Yes some quests are not activated and I had a lot of different bugs as well. Especially in cutscenes I agree on that.

That entirely depends on your equipment and stats both is important for damage.

That is excactly what stats are for. You miss too much?-> train dex or luck. More damage required?-> train your main damage stat, etc.
I would advise you to use some of the guides to "wf-striker" guides found in this forum. They help a lot in what equipment and what stats are needed to get good results in monster-smashing.
Playing just for fun, buying what looks good and using underpowered stats (like me using my underpowered AQ-build) is only advisable, if you know a lot about the game and know how to eleminate these handicaps with equipment, skills or specials for example.
Clearly the easier way is using a guide and stick to one of the possbile builds.
