I'm "Reposting" Something A Friend Of Mine Wrote A Few Months Ago, In The Hopes Of Getting Something Done (Finally)...

Regarding The Much Needed And Long Awaited 'Faction Improvements'

"With all the talk lately of founder appreciation, player appreciation and all the things the devs have promised and never delivered on, I thought I would point out something seldom mentioned.
The complete lack of meaning and purpose behind factions/faction war. For starters, many new faction features were never added. Faction founder step down, additional roster spaces and, more importantly, more meaning behind the entire concept which is the heart of the game system, factions/flags/war.

Factions cost varium to create. So they are not a "free" aspect of game play. Yet, despite this fact, how exactly does being a faction leader benefit anyone? We speak of founders, betas, elites,
but what about faction founders? What about top officers who have done thousands of kills and added thousands of flag tokens? These factions are driving the entire game battle system, daily. Contributing to ALL battle related leaderboards. Keeping the war alive so to speak. Players work hard to maintain flags and activity in these factions, yet get little to no reward. The faction leaders have no power to give special achievements like MVP (10,000+ kills), Flag Bearer (10,000+ Tokens), War Machine (10,000+ War Kills), for example. Why not give more reward to the players and factions that literally support the entire battle system daily and weekly? And what about the leaders? Why bother winning medals when it seems meaningless? What does a faction leader receieve for winning 50 medals? Nothing. No faction upgrade. No special achievement. No special item. As well as, no ability to share/reward weapons, varium, credits, or award the top players special faction achievements. So why bother?

What is the point of faction score? Is there really any difference between a level 7 faction and level 11? What would be a new player's motivation to establish a new faction, if months later all that hard work seems hardly appreciated, not just by the ED community but more importantly it's designers.

Where is the evolution of the faction system? Where is the appreciation for long time faction founders and their best officers for all they have contributed to the game, flag, war system and the
entire battle engine, daily? What exactly is the point of creating or maintaining a faction? What can the devs do to improve on this? What can they do to reward the best faction leaders and officers
in game? Please discuss. I'd be curious to hear what some of you think."

Buffy u honestly dont get as much credit as other leaders... you run 2 top factions but noone seems to give u any credit... but i agree with ur idea... good luck hun(:

Regarding Titan's Coding Statement...

I Don't Want To Be Negative...BUT...

We Have Been Promised Since The Beta Phase... "Faction Improvements".

Months And Months With NOTHING Done Whatsoever.

I Could Argue That, Factions Are The Most Important Part of The Game That Has Not Been Improved On Or Evolved In Anyway Since Early Gamma Phase With War Kills...

Which, Most Players Did Not Like And Felt Took Away From The Significance Of World Domination Wins (Pay To Win Instead Of Earning Wins).

An Empty Promise Backed By A General Statement Is Meaningless.

If Titan Has Some Ideas Or Plans, We'd All Love To Hear Them.

For Example... Becuase We've Waited On Faction Founder Step Down For Over One Year.

Is That Acceptable To Anyone?

Personally, I think Buffy deserves a special achievement, for the work that was done in the factions. I believe that all of the members respect her/him. :)

So how about one for Buffy called
'Above and Beyond'

and for those that do not know. I am not and never have been in one of Buffys factions.

I believe that this one was delayed because it was found to be 'hackable' and caused a few problems that had to be overcome first. I would rather wait for the safe version, that have the faction open to abuse.

She has two top factions n isnt a mod or nothing thats benefits the fac... youve run two factions that both r champs... idk why but people dont realize ur work... but i want founder stepdown to happen

Buffy, I think Founder Step down will be a bad idea, the founder of the faction I'm in is not that active, but he gets a lot of wins in a day, if he were to log in more frequently, my faction wil have greater success, and I'm the top officer on it but I don't want to take the place of him since a lots of founders will be step down and even kicked out of the faction, and anyways, your girls have done really nice job, I'm really impressed but you should recruit pro male players and make anew faction, to ensure you can lead the other two factions. I admire you a lot and I know you're talking for every faction but theyir should be a system that separates factions having varium players and factions having nonvarium players, two different leaderboards and special achievements.

The reason factions weren't expanded in Beta were because they fell into the "overwhelming" coding section. And if you remember, KOTR was disbanded because of a hacker who made himself the Founder and kicked everyone out. If someone could do that when the feature to make someone else Founder isn't even released yet, then do you think they would roll out with Founder Stepdown soon after it? If they release Stepdown then it will be after weeks of testing to make sure it can't be hacked like that.

 as a very long standing Fation Founder im going to have to side with Buffy ive owned Hells Angels for over a year and yet there is no love for that

When i made my faction it ment nothing at all the possibility of WD if that even existed then but no flags no HQ's no cannons no warbar nothing we see now and yet there is still no love for Oldtime Faction leaders those who have stuck to their gut and led for countless months.

Also the only real love my best officer gets(who has been an Angel since he had 13 wins and hes well over 2K and kicks me around the battlefield any day of the week) is i gave him the Title Elite Angel as a homage to Elites and ive promised him the Faction when stepdown comes so there is no love for anykind of oldtimers in factions

Surely this would make the 'gap' even larger? We have Varium and non-Varium in our faction. So how would that work?

I agree, players who have been here the longest time and have acquired all the best things, spent more money on this game then other players and spend all their time playing this game deserve something really special.

Fay: Two different sections of ledaerboards, meaning two winning factions, one varium and nonvarium, will win the world domination, etc. If the faction has more varium players, it will be counted as a varium faction, if it has more nonvarium players, it will be counted as nonvarium

i doubt the admins want to provide huge benifits to certain factions. especialy since there only about 15 competitive factions in existence today.

I'm sure alot of people know her accomplishments and recognize that she has done great things, they just choose not to express it, like me. I've actually looked up to her since factions were started.

Anyway, good points, what does fac lvl even do? Theres nothing we gain from lvling our factions, there's not even a leaderboard.

 So, I know Buffy has had some pretty good factions, and is one of the best players in the game, but I don't look at her as someone who has cared for me or any of my friends, she did actually say she shares her opinions pretty heavily, which I respect, but I don't respect the ignorance to other players. You may be one of the best, but all players deserve respect even if they are a level 30 with no armor, zooka, and a pistol.


A lot of Faction Changes were probably going to happen, but like Titan posted the code was almost impossible to work with. Buffy, if you have taken any coding lessons at all or anything that involves code, please say so, because I personally think you don't know how difficult to code something is when the stuff your trying to add or work with is nearly impossible.

But like mentioned before, they system was way to hackable, look what it did to KotR. Disband, removed, etc. Luckily Wiseman recorded their faction wins, influence, achievements, kills, and war kills. That's why Founder Step-Down was never implemented, because it was unstable to launch to the live servers.

While yes, the main purpose of battling in EpicDuel is for the war, the code was to unstable to work with before, and Buffy like I said, if you've ever taken a coding class in your life, please, post that you have.

While I am not opposed to giving out Achievements for just about anything you might think of (since they are meaningless and useless) I am strongly opposed to giving players weapons, skills or any other battle enhancement that might give them an edge in this PvP game. A player of that caliber should not need additional help winning battles and should not be given additional benefits other paying customers are not able to purchase. Make up all the Achievements you like, have them count for zillions of point, its all fine with me.
