Lately their has been a lot of so called hacking going on, and i'd like to take this time out and inform those who are worried and what makes them prone to being hacked. First of all, their is a huge difference between being hacked and scammed (When someone is scammed, it's because they give their login information in most cases for something that seems to good to be true - When someones account has been hacked, it most likely means that someone has gained their account information mostly in a malicious way).

Their are several methods that a hacker can use to get your information, but just like they have methods to gain access to your accounts, their are methods for you to protect your account. One of the most common ways that hackers gain access to your account is through an unsecured network, such as public networks. Their is a reason why it is called an unsecured network, anyone on that network can view information sent from your client to servers (I would go more into that, but I don't want this thread getting locked it's for your own benefit). It would also be the same as if someone invited you to their house to play EpicDuel with them, as soon as they grant you access to their network that person who invited you can also be seeing the information that is sent from your client to other servers. Now, about your friends if you truly trust them and you know each other don't get paranoid over that fact that if they wanted to could view the data sent from your client to other servers, that is a very nasty thing to do and only a small number of people are that nasty to friends. Also most of these so called game trainers are actual key loggers, meaning that if it asks you for your username and password that information would most likely be sent to the developer of that so called "Trainer" (*If your information is obtained because you had a Key Logger on your computer it is actually your fault Due to the fact that you should understand the risks of downloading anything off the internet). **Some tips for those who want to have a secured EpicDuel Account - Play on your own secured network, use a very tricky password, don't download any so called trainers, and scan the files you download for they could be malicious programs that track your key strokes, or even give them access to your computer.

Tip from cyberbakio ryugan:Another way to prevent your account from being hacked is not to give the username of your facebook, twitter, or any other social network accounts since they can get your email address, hack it and take out all of the information you have on it, and a way to prevent it is to have another email address made for your game accounts, separate from your social networks.

Tip from Wind:It's also best to keep your username and transaction ID's safe, if a hacker has that information he can use it to keep resetting your password.

*These aren't the only way hackers could gain access to your accounts, but the most common ways.
*Feel free to reply if you want me to add some specific tips to help your gaming mates!
*Staff members will never ask for your password (Thanks 1234speedy for reminding me)!
*A transaction ID is obtainable by buying any artix point package, remember like Wind said it's best if you keep this private!

Also another way to prevent hack is not to give the username of your facebook, twitter or any other social network since they can get your email address, hack it and take out all of the information you have on it, and a way to prevent it is to have a spam email address for games separate from network .
You can also activate your privacy connection of internet, this are the steps for IE browser:
1.)Press Tool option
2.)Click over internet options
3.)Press over Privacy and there you will have an option to block the cookies, you have several options, low, medium, medium high, high, block all the cookies you can choose the option you want but remember sites like this needs that a few cookies files are accepted.

Another way is not to trust pages that say they will give free varium.

Nice post Algorithm! :D
IF the person asks for the master account username, password or e-mail, the person is scamming, even if you personally know him/her!
Remember a Mod/Admin will never ask for you information except your characters name.

Hey Algorithm

Also mention about keeping username and your Transaction ID safe!!! you get the transaction id once you've purchased an artix point package. Because if the hacker has the username and transaction id to the payment of the account, he'll be able to use the Automatic recovery page and keep getting into your account by resetting the password.

You can PM an AK/Mod about it if you want it to be stickied, but there is a similar guide which has already been added to the guides list: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=19616785

Got your PM, but sadly, this guide isn't going to be added to the =ED= Guides List. There is already another similar guide about this here. There is no need to have two guides that are talking about the same thing. If you have any suggestions for T.600's guide, you can PM T.600 your suggestion.

Locking up this thread as well, since suggestions for T.600's guide should be done in PMs.
