Two very controversial topics in epicduel battle. Personally, I boost and heal. However, many do not like it when I do those, especially during the early levels. Is it ok to boost at certain times? When is healing ok? And what do people not like about healing/boosting?

Boost when you want. Heal when you want. Its your account, your credits, your energy. Anyone who tells you not to can get lost. They know they don't stand a chance otherwise.

What Jekyll said except you should really show some common courtesy to low levels. You really don't need to cast that shield on yourself, nor do you need to heal when they finally drop you down to full healing potential of hp. It's doubtful you'll die because of their malf or smoke anyways, and if you do, let them have the win.

Tools that may be used should be used. Honor in war died in the 1700s.

When people complain about healing, what they're actually saying is: Stop being smart and let me kill you...

I just say, it was put into the game to be used, so I'm going to use it.

I find no shame in healing/boosters, it adds much more strategy to the game and is one of the skills necessary in maintaining balance. Take this as a real life scenario, you're about to die against an enemy you probably don't know, you can choose to live or die... why would you choose to die? If the opponent is your friend or family then maybe... but healing's just that you stay alive. And staying alive is winning, which is what this game is all about, "PvP".

There's nothing wrong with healing or boosting. People who complain about are simply too dumb to make builds that can encorporate these features.
@below. You're actualy ENCOURAGING him to censor the forum even further?

Sooo....as soon as one thread dies about this topic another one starts right back up in its place? Healing and boosting should be added to Lord Barrius's Do not talk about list...

This is a very large topic, although it looks like the answer is clearly boost and heal if you want to.

Everyone has to have at least a Level 1 Field Medic. It costs energy and a turn. It's part of the skill tree.

Boosters are an extra facet of the game that you have to buy. Anyone can use them, but not everyone does. People who use them do so to gain an upperhand in battles they would otherwise lose.

Some players take the "whatver it takes to win" mentality, and therefore boost anytime and everytime an opponent is about to beat them. They disfavor the "luck" in this game (luck that, by the way, affects everyone equally---not just them), and cite this as a reason to boost.

Those who do not boost are obviously at a disadvantage when playing against someone who does. If you choose not to boost, my suggestion to you would be to not take your wins and losses too seriously. While it is true that people will judge how "good" you are by your record, just know that a good record doesn't make someone a good player, and a so-so record doesn't make you a bad player, either.

Think of it this way: Players can pad their win ratio by NPC battles. Looking at them, you may think they are very good players because of this. But in reality, they may have very little knowledge of the game---knowledge that comes from experimentation with builds/classes and a willingness to go off the beaten path.

The same goes for boosting. Boosting will definitely make your win/loss ratio better---just as relying on other people to make builds for you and not experimenting yourself will.

In the end it's up to you. If you choose to boost, my advice would be not to take yourself too seriously. If half your wins come from close fights where you had to boost to win, it doessn't make you a smarter or better player than your opponent. If you choose not to boost, just know that you're not as bad as the boosters might say you are. ;)

If you choose to use your sidearm, my advice would be not to take yourself too seriously. If half your wins come from close fights where you had to sidearm to win, it doessn't make you a smarter or better player than your opponent. If you choose not to sidearm, just know that you're not as bad as the sidearmers might say you are. ;)

If you choose to use varium, my advice would be not to take yourself too seriously. If half your wins come from close fights where you had to use varium equipment to win, it doessn't make you a smarter or better player than your opponent. If you choose not to use varium, just know that you're not as bad as the varium players might say you are. ;)

See where this is going? Boosters are a part of the game. These threads are ridiculous.

Ahhhh, but the difference is that no good players fight without auxes sidearms, primaries, or armors.

There are MANY good players who fight without boosters.

So no, boosters are NOT part of the game for everyone.

@frog Nub has you beat on that point. If it's in-game and can be used to your advantage then use it. Yes I will admit there are times you shouldn't use boosters like when you have no chance of winning or when they're used to make your opponent squirm under your boot while you slowly kill them.

He has me beat because you agree with his opinion.

The only factual statement that you or he has made is that boostes are in the game. Everything else he mentioned is merely opinion.

Exremely well reasoned; If boosters are in-game, but considered not acceptable by some players, then why wouldn't other things be considered unacceptable?
(Side note: I HAVE had many players (especial in the 20-25 range) call me a "noob" for using a Bot, Auxilary, or Sidearm.)

@frog He has you beat because of logic. You can buy boosters, you can buy varium, you can buy sidearms. Using them gives you an advantage in battle and if you choose not to use them then you're at a lower advantage. Yes people can play without boosters but they can also play without auxes, as proven by Strength Builds. Low levels play without items all the time and they do just fine against other low levels with them.

I would actually say Frogbones as a point.

If you don't have a robot but you still win a lot you can feel more proud of your self. Same with primary, sidearm, aux, armors, and boosters.

However, you might feel more proud of yourself if you just win more often, so as Frogbones said earlier, its up to you what makes you more happy and if thats winning without boosting or winning more often, either are fine.

The only thing I don't like is when people call you noob for boosting.

@ND: Your giving false information and being imprecise: Not having an aux is drastically different than not using an aux.

When do you ever see 34 Variums without an aux? Never.

So I'll repeat it for you.

^ I really don't see why using boosters is a sin lol. If someone is tired of losing and decides to use boosters
to win more then who are you to tell them not to use them? You think everyone must follow everything you say, every
idea, ever piece of advice, everything. What if I say using varium shows you can't use your brain to win as a nonvarium, that's my opinion,
your opinion is people shouldn't use boosters in battle because that makes them stupid for not making a build that can survive without boosters.
Just because you say it doesn't mean it's right.

Lol, no. Somehow you missed the entire point. I'm not telling people what to do. Like Nub said in another thread, people don't read (or at least read critically) anymore.

Here it is again. This is a conclusion. For the supporting arguments that led up to this, see post #10.

Ehh, it's the reason I have a >50% record, so yes, I tolerate boosting.

If the opponent boosts just boost you way back and then heal, after just rage attack bringing enemy's health back down. Simple :)

it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of you. if you want to win and have a good win %, you will boost and heal.
its as simple as that.
