Romance in ED

 Every great story has a romantic subplot, hidden deep in the storyline.

Take for example the Hunger Games. A grisly tale of survival in a dystopia-eque world. Yet, beneath all the violence, betrayal, and death that comes across the arena, the romance between certain characters lightens the mood a bit.

Where is ED's romance? Should there be romantic ties between characters in the storyline? Is there any romance whatsoever?

You would think that in the hard times of Delta V, marriage would be a commonly occurring phenomenon.

Should? No. Could? Yes. Who? Anyone. Why? Heroes and Saints, villains and Antichrists and such, miscellaneous. Perilous journeys concerning groups of people often bring people closer together because of trust... or interest. Especially of people of opposite sexes. War may cause this, perhaps when the Infernal Infiltration concludes, perhaps it will.

Well, the Lawman has a daughter who's name is Selena. So there was a mother figure.

 I am definitely ok with shipping, but maybe we should keep in mind the canon 'ships.

Hank and Valestra have been married for quite a few years. Naomi is one of their children.

Prior to marrying Hank, Valestra was romantically tied with Administrator 7- Silas Auer.

Ulysses and Galatea are married.

This hasn't been addressed, but the Lawman is divorced. Selina and Ella are his daughters.

Valery is dating Shadow Guard Mike.

@falling- your Tamaril and Navarro ship wouldn't work- they're brother and sister.

@Falling: I notice how...conveniently placed every single NPC "pair" is. They seem to be either on the same screen, or one or two screen away from each other.

@Cindy: "Shipping" = relationship? Also, could someone explain "canon" to me? I heard it being talked about in DF (since AQW's releases these past few weeks), and I'm not sure I understand "canon" fully.

Anyway, I'm fine with "romance" in ED, as long as it doesn't get too overboard, which I doubt it will become. Heck, if we ever get a storyline that revolves around a little romance/love, it'll be interesting and add to the story and plot.

More romance? That's the worst idea I have heard since Ponies in Epicduel....
No. Several other Artix Entertainment games have had romance in them, and his done nothing except deteriorate the quality of the games. I would hate for the same to happen to Epicduel.

 Romance isn't a bad thing. Relationships add depth.

Canon means that it is true in the context of the media. So Hank and Valestra being married is Canon. Habuki and Selina being engaged is not Canon, and very unlikely to become so.

@Falling: That...might just be one of the most...interesting theories I've heard in a long time. So if in school, I see a boy and girl working together on a project, they must be madly in love? Dubious.

Anyway, thanks for clearing that up Cindy. Makes MUCH more sense, now that "canon" means "true fact".

Wow, this thread has received quite the replies! I'm really glad to hear what all of you think!

I agree with many of you, too much romance would go overboard (the ship (see what I did thar? (sorry. someone show me out please.))). However, romance could be the start of many conflicts as someone pointed out.

Mebbe the II saga could have a tiny bit? Something about Silas Auer's past that caused his scars (besides the fight with the lawman)
