I Suggest you should change Phpbb and add chatbox

The Forums actually do have a chatbox facility known as IRC.

If you visit the forum Rules and Resourcrs sub-board, then there is a whole thread dedicated to IRC and how to use it.

You should check Forum Rules and Resources.

EDIT:

I don't see the point of creating a seperate Chatbox for such a huge community. Chatboxes, while good for Generic Discussion lack Specific Facilities, and that is where IRC is much much organised with its numerous categories. I understand that the strange, code-ish language of IRC might come down hard on people, but with a bit of guidance, there will no problem.

As for your suggestion on the conversion of the forum software from ASPPlayground.NET to phpBB, that is not feasible Given that staff have stated that upgrading to newer versions of the current ASPPlayground.NET software would render a lot of the custom codes in use on the forum unusable, a conversion would (more likely than not) create far more strife and the overall benefits would be outweighed by the arduous process of having to edit the forum's codes.
