Is it really needed? Support builds on CH's and TM's aren't really top tier compared to others(5 focus, Stength CH, Tech tank TM, etc). I know they are strong, but I feel those builds would be better if the strength requirement was removed on Malfunction.

They are actually very strong builds, if there were no str req, they could become OP

I don't think it would be OP. Assuming one is using full out support equipment, not having a strength requirement would only add around 2~4 more points on auxiliary, malfunction, and defense matrix. Would that really be so bad?

Yes, yes it would. Since you could easily forgoe Strength completely. It's fine as it is. Just don't max it out and keep between Lvl 5-7 which is 31 Strength for Lvl 7, not too much + you get good Primary and Gun damage so it balances out. Also CHs have Malf so Strength requirement benefits them in a way.

It's fine as it is. It prevents abuse and isn't much of an issue. 37 Str at Lvl 10 Malf, and you don't need to max it out either. Also weapons are likely to have about 30 Str requirement if you're 'lucky' enough so this further doesn't need adjusting.

I guess I just miss being able to go full support like in the old days, since I never really liked strength...those were fun times.

^ Yes, yes, good ol' days! When people were appreciating weapons with no str req. :) Tbh I didn't even realise that malfunction has str req until now. That's not a problem for most mid leveld mages 99% of them use Cadens Wrath + I hardly ever see any capped caster or support TM.

I can go either way with this idea. Both classes who have malfunction (CH and TM) have many skills that actually improve with strength, and some would be vital for support builds. If CH didn't have strength on a support build, static charge would barely give any energy back (especially since malf scales somewhat slowly with support). With TM, a lack of strength makes attacks with deadly aim far less efficient, as well as reducing the damage effect of assimilation and bludgeon, two very good skills. (Level 1 bludgeon on a +34-35 damage weapon is +10 phys damage. Only skill at level 1 to give 1/1 damage-to-energy ratio)
