First, I would make the cooldown to 2.

Second, I would make it at around 19-20 energy at MAX (if you're level 35)


How this differs from the current Battery Backup:

Tech Mages have the opportunity to resist energy drainers and not have to wait so long for their next energy regen.

Tech Mages will have to sacrifice one more turn to use this skill (compared to having it with a 4-turn cooldown)

so half the mp but more often... interesting i don't see a problem though i could see a lot of mages not knowing how and when to use it xD

Wouldn't it be more of a nerf to them since a cooldown of 2 means that 33% (1/3) of total turns are wasted while a cooldown of 4 means 20% (1/5) of total turns are wasted casting it?

why do you keep calling it a waste lol i thought the skill was useful to mages (i'm pullin your leg here) and it's not like they have to use it every 2 cooldowns but they would no longer be so dependent on it by the three

20 mana so you waste a turn for a l1 emp to make 10 skill points completely useless

this isn't a serious suggestion is it ?

Dislike,

Energy drains shoudld remain an effective strategy,

to resist energy drain mages can already use cores for example, and they already have 2 forms of energy regains.

If anything to improve balance mages need to be made more vulnerable to energy drains.

Doesn't matter if you don't have a problem what you guys are agreeing on here is a negative counter.


Negative counters is what has wrecked this game in the past (azreal buff reducer)

counters is the only thing that keeps balance in this game at bay( or any game for that matter), the more counters for things the higher variety and creativity can and will be but as a follow up more focus on balance adjustments would be required.




If the game continues to destroy potential counters for things without creating them, what is left is a effortless game of luck and money.

The azreal borg, and Azreal aux are both items that counter Buffs. You talk about how the game needs counters, yet when it comes to the counters to buffs you are 100% against them.

@ altador

A negative counter is something something that counters a counter I believe. In this case your idea would counter an energy drains, which is something Remorse feels is a bad thing. Like how if you debuff someone your opponent counters with a shield, they you counter their counter with one of the buff breakers. Anything that supports the first effect would be a negative counter.

Redesigning a skill just to counter another skill is not a reason to balance it. If the numbers generated by Battery Backup and Static Grenade or Static Smash differ greatly, close the gap on those numbers, not give Battery Backup an advantage over those skills.
