Wheres the variety in this game anymore, all you see now a days are strength builds every where and everyone copying builds.

It's a combo of everyone wanting to win because losing goes on your record and nobody wants that. and bad balance.

For me I tend to stick with my old builds whether they are popular or not. Finding new tricks with them and seeing what I can pull out of them is actually more fun then just copy building and using the flavor of the week builds.

However, Edwardvulture hit the nail on the head. For most winning > diversity especially when balance isn't helping that matter either.

They have, however every time balance changes happen in reality all they really do is just knock the current top builds off their pedestals, and something else that was kept in balance because of said builds takes it's place.

Once those are found then people start copying the build and boom same problem different builds.

Most people want builds that are proven to win, and they would sooner copy a build that is proven to win, rather than search for one at the expense of losing to said popular builds. This is how it has always been, and while some people are creative and find new builds the majority of players just copy build for the sake of wins.

Ironically the only time Have seen players get creative with builds is when the staff doesn't do balance changes for a while. When this has happened I have seen many players come up with ways to counter said builds and be creative about it at the same time.

Yep agreed, my opinion in delta people had same builds like massacre builds n tanks and stuff like that most people were different classes. But now since omega no variety at all which I think because of all of these OP (overpowered) cores on weapons people just spam strength builds and people will copy because it has a good win rate.

Well, it's up to people to decide what they want to do when they play the game as long as they don't break any rules, and build copying is definitely not breaking them.

It makes the game boring because of monotonous encounters, but heck, people still do it anyways. There's really nothing that can be done about it, so it's best to just leave it at that.

honestly how CAN anyone have variety now? as of this last update with a HUGE nerf to static grenade, it's been made quite obvious that balance and variety aren't the primary goals, as the static grenade was pretty useful in promoting variety if the players would've stopped copying for a second and got creative... the original door-opener for variety was the cyber hunter as the possibilities were endless with the bringing of static charge however they nerfed it to the ground as that seems to be the only request anyone can make... then on top of that they add 4 new levels and make a lot of changes and i have to admit i was excited but now i literally have no clue what i'm doing as i can't implement strategy like i used to, i don't have a clue how much damage i'll do because it takes too much effort to focus on that math, i really don't know what to consider good res and def anymore other than guessing by how much i've put into stats but that's no good if i'm tryin to add variety and put a lil extra here and take a lil somethin there... it's really like the update was a diversion tactic because if you hit 3 you now hit 30 and that'll make anyone feel good, when you hit 21 and it shows 210 you sorta just let it go and hope you're doin the right thing... i can't even bother calculating shields or percentages of damage or shield percentages... trying to add variety to your now would take a decent amount of time and most people just wanna play and win in 3 hits

Don't worry man, I'm a Tech Mage using maximum Dexterity and LVL 1 Overload.

Because everyone was a BH using max static grenade (it was obscenely broken). The problem is not a nerf like that, but the overall balance of the game, which promotes one build that can win more consistently than the others (no matter who the player is), rather than a multitude of builds that can all work equally well depending on the player.

These latest balance update has near ruined the game for me. As a player who prefers 1v1 because of the frustration 2v2 bring now have to play almost exclusively 2v2 because I cannot step foot into 1v1 without going through entire armies of the same copycat bounty hunter. This is truly a period of endurance in Epic Duel.

And 2v2 is no better, level 30s and 31s are rampet, people leaving are rampet, why have ED forsaken us.

most everyone, however the skill wasn't broken it just made clear of the huge imbalances in the other classes but i won't continue to argue that point to the ground, the overall balance is affected by such nerfs because once the players get the nerf they so desire they're STILL stuck with the imbalances of their own classes which is why a multitude of builds aren't probable because synergies and skills are off

the problem with static grenade is that it was stronger than some other skills like parasite and static charge , but the mods nerfed it down to the ground instead of boosting the others up , which destroyed any dex or venom build , and we ended up with 4 classes that can't do anything but str .
the 4 classes are bh bm ch and tlm (str/supp on this one , still no variety)

so the only 2 classes left working with alot of builds are tm and merc , where tm is on top because he can effectively use 5 combinations while merc is only 4.

Basically most of the tech mages i see are tank tech mages who heal loop

Just throwing it out there.The update only changed the numbers, it has barely change any mechanics in the game. They use to have a round out system that always rounded up to the nearest point. Example 5.2 rounded to 6 damage.They did away with the round out system and showed us decimal values, hence why 10=100 now.This update did do a few things. It gave smoke screen and malfunction a boost as armors are not stand alone defenses anymore. It also nerfed defence slightly because they do not round up to the nearest point.They also slightly buffed health because it gives a true 1.25 health per point instead of 5 hp every 4 points and This applies to energy as well.Strength and support also benefit from this new system as every point increases its potential damage.

^ well they added the 0 to make every hit and point count, so say you were a hunter and you hit 10 plus 11 to kill your opponent now you might not just be able to get that kill if you hit say 103 plus 104 and the opponent had 208... which is actually pretty cool as it adds a little randomness to it not to mention it would make balance updates a little easier to do as nerfing an attack by 10 points (this is just an exaggerated example) was pretty huge but nerfing it by 100 wouldnt be as big of a deal as more comes into play, it's a minor change to mechanics that no one would notice or be bothered by because it's seems so small... and yes they did do all that you've said as well however it wont mean much if classes are stuck with imbalance, it'd be better to have balanced classes and certain health and or energy problems because at least every class would be affected

It is the exact same with me. I would always 1v1 except for daily missions. Now, I can only 2v2 because of how weak bm is. If I 1v1 I will fight strength bounty after strength bounty after strength bounty. I wanted to compete for level 40 because my winter break started the same day as the release. Now, since i can only 2v2 it is much slower, and there is no way I will even be one of the first. I have been battling for almost 2 whole days, and I still have 1000 exp to go for level 37....

lol I have yet to reach lvl 36... I refuse to play with a broken class with which the Devs don't even take the time to fix asap.
They can fix the money-hawk the same day but a Cap they forgot to remove is after 3 days still on?
If the case of what I've heard about the Devs taking a week off is true. How can one not get angry if things like this happen?
