Since we all know how pathetic mercenary has got due to the fact that static smash is very weak, now lets see some other energy gaining moves,
TM - Has battery backup, guaranteed amount of energy, on top of it assimilation, increases with strength, but deals nice amount of damage plus draining, suitable along with battery backup
TLM - Has battery backup, guaranteed amount of energy, on top of it frenzy, increases with strength, but deals nice amount of damage, suitable along with battery backup
CH - Static Charge, gives a little less amount of energy, on top of it does not drain energy, but the grenade compensates for it
BM - Parasite, takes 20% for 2 consecutive turns, on top of it gains energy from it, easily destroys high energy builds
BH - Static Grenade, takes energy gains 65%, increases with support, on top of it, its good
MERC - Pathetic static smash, gains hardly enough for a single heal, apart from that nothing

Now people will cry and say its all fine, mercs are doing good, bm < merc, and stuff like that but have you even played the class personally and seen its pathetic static smash, before crying here go change to merc and see it, then come back and put your complains and cries, ok now back on the topic.

I say since all the energy taking/gaining moves are constant, apart from mercs, if someone uses kartherax or uses intimidate, the static smash diminishes to even a more pathetic state where its pretty much ultra useless. So I suggest to make it gain a certain percentage increasing with support. JUST exactly like static charge, it cannot be altered by strength, it wont increase with strength just a certain , constant, non changing, amount of energy gained from it, just like bh. Since only 1 core can reduce support, which is ultra rare. So this change will BALANCE it totally out, making this class re-usable to certain extent.

People who are going to say its all balanced, I say again, dont just comment here with what so ever no experience, if so , before commenting, least change to merc, test it out youself, and then come here and comment.

Whenever I play a mercenary I win, my level 4 assimilation is usually better than their level 4 static, + I have battery. Idk about scaling like static, cuz merc would get 230 and steal...none from opponent?

Edit: Or would need to take 65% instead of 75% like BH and drain about 300+?

You forgot shadow arts
BH/CH - shadow arts decreasing % all damage including energy damage.


Static smash is most easyest counter in this game. (energy control) Today other classes dominating merc totally. thanks to energy controls and nerf skills/cores. Static smash is game most vulnerable energy control skill. Too many nerf abiltys affect in direct in this skill.

No energy=no fun.

OFF TOPIC: Back in delta, no energy was still fun, passives helped.

I used to win a lot as a mercenary, it indeed is weak but with no more weapon requirements or blocks it turned a lot better than it was before. Still needs a little buff in my opinion to compete with other classes, but it's getting better.

Off Topic : Yep the golden days

On Topic : well yeah it needs a little buff like increase energy drain from 55 % to 65 - 70 % conversion and keep the energy gain at 75 % should be the best solution .
