West Naval Yard War!

After a long period of relative peace, war has returned to the West Naval Yard! For those who've forgotten the minutia of this particular region's conflict, here's a brief refresher.

Prepare for War!

The West Naval Yard is the latest flashpoint in the ongoing alignment War. Battle for dominance and new prizes now as the war has already gone live!

The Legion forces have control of the full-restored Pirate Flagship sitting ominously in the Naval Yard.

Obviously, this could be very bad for Exiles, so they'll use Naval Shells and Super Naval Shells to bombard the ship from turrets located around the Naval Yard.

Legion forces on the shore can take out the turrets with Naval Bombs and Super Naval Bombs

Pick up Super Naval Shell and Super Naval Bombs at the Ammo Depot located right of Big Tuna!

Good luck, and war on!

There's a new DN out you know. Like a week back.

And question relating to that. Where is EpicDuel.exe??

^Not entirely sure if your first line was directed towards me but I am aware that new DNs had been created on the 29th of July (and also supposedly on the 13th of July) however I was somewhat inactive therefore unable to post them. The DNs that have not yet been posted on the forums seem quite irrelevant to me and not really worth posting. I will see to about posting the latest one (which outlines how to set up EpicDuel; flash settings, etc...) but either way it has little to no significance to some forum users here; nothing truly to discuss on how one should enable flash. :)

As for the downloadable EpicDuel client (.exe), they seem to be still working on BioBeasts at the moment so it's safe to assume that no progress has been made on EpicDuel's side of things except for the implementation of war prizes which doesn't require much effort other than creation process by the guest artists. It was however recently implied that attention would be redirected to EpicDuel once version/update 1.5.0 for BioBeasts finished it's deployment to the necessary platforms (iOS and Android) and tackle the potential bugs thereafter. Here are some latest official quotes in regards to devs' progress with BioBeasts and their potential view on EpicDuel:

Short answer: They're kind of putting a break on ED for now and working on Bio Beasts. Will resume work on ED when they are done with BB.

This week is supposedly the last push for content on BB so hopefully we can get back to working on ED and I can bring all this stuff up with the devs. We'll see in the near future how stuff pans out but I'm really looking forward to working more with ED itself at the moment.

I cannot guarantee they will resume ED within the next couple of weeks, but it's projected that they will start working on it relatively soon since this week is the last week for the push of new content for BB. If they need to suddenly turn around and spend another few weeks because of a BB bug disaster or some other anomaly of the sort, then that will probably happen. They might also have some intermediate plans between this week and when they start ED so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for ED changes happening very soon yet. All I can say is that it's definitely making it's way here.

Just to elaborate a little more to what Exploding Penquin said.

Dev time right now is mostly on BioBeasts with 10% time dedicated towards ED. This is until we get a few of the remaining core features completed in BioBeast. We hope a client side EpicDuel is still possible, but we have yet to have company wide support on this. Until we do, will be focused on BioBeasts.

I also wanted bring into discussion some other reasons why you are seeing less numbers on the servers.

1, browsers are abandoning flash all together. Each security patch they push means the chances of any new players discovering EpicDuel will decrease.
2, most kids growing up these days use mobile devices such as tablets, kindles, e-readers, phones etc. These devices do not run Flash nativity These would be new players that would have potentially discovered EpicDuel.
3, ad spend on google, facebook, and other sites have increased year over year, so just advertising our games has become limited in terms of exposure.

Now I'm not saying that EpicDuel is perfect and that there is nothing wrong with balance issues. There is always things we can do to improve the game and make player experience better. What I am saying is there are other reasons that get missed and shouldn't be ignored either.

I hope this answers your question Santonik.
