In terms of the balance changes this week, I think that the guest ban in the Inn is a really great development. First, bringing (non-dragon) guests also doesn't make much sense flavorwise. But more importantly, as people have expressed before, there is a fundamental tension behind guests making the game easier, and Inn Challenges which are intended to be hard. A lot of time was previously spent planning whack-a-mole with whatever overpowered guest strategy popped up - I remember Mritha, Zhoom, Guest Stuns, etc all getting big nerfs because of strategies involving challenge fights. I personally would've just preferred guest bans from Duos/Trios/EX Challenges so you can still use guests for mazes, but I understand that a blanket guest ban is both cleaner to implement and also less unintuitive to players. I don't really understand why Aegis was nerfed so hard (10 turn -25 ice -> 3 turn -20 ice, no longer stacks with ice scythe), in light of the guest ban from the Inn, but since guests are banned from the inn now, it doesn't really matter for anything beyond a few story fights. As for the ice scythe nerf, I'm not really a fan, and have long thoughts about it that I'll make its own forum thread. Also, based on testing it vs various Inn bosses, I think DBE might still be a bit too good in longer boss fights, if the intention is a "questing" class that's not good at bosses. After the initial extra turn cycle, a 6/7-turn Ultra Aim Hex gives the class an insane amount of survivability with MPM stack or even just coinflipping with (normal) defense boost (doubly so because of the direct hit removal). Ultra Health boost also gives a lot of HP regeneration for a class that's supposed to be one-and-done. CDE, the other "bursty" Epoch that's nevertheless intended for bossing, lost its Ultra Health boost, so I don't see a good argument for DBE keeping it. That being said, I think the class is still worse than Basepoch for most boss fights. Maybe the real issue is that Basepoch is too good?
